This is Kinda HUMONGUS

The rotten apple doesn’t fall far from the family tree.

Joey Plugs and his Democrat shills defenders have claimed that when VP Joe demanded that Ukraine fire the prosecutor looking into Burisma he was just following orders going along with what the entire free world wanted. Since we all know that Joe Biden would never ever tell a lie there seems to be some confusion here.

Sean Davis at The Federalist:

A top U.S. diplomat and expert on Ukraine testified to Congress yesterday that the Obama administration — with former Vice President Joe Biden as its point man — orchestrated the firing of the Ukrainian prosecutor who was investigating a company connected to the Biden family, sources familiar with the testimony told The Federalist.

The testimony of George Kent, a State Department official who works on the agency’s Ukraine portfolio, directly contradicts claims that the Obama administration was merely following the lead of the so-called international community in demanding the firing of Viktor Shokin, a controversial Ukrainian prosecutor who was reportedly investigating Burisma, a global energy company long suspected of corruption and money laundering. In 2014, Burisma paid Hunter Biden, Joe Biden’s son, tens of thousands of dollars to sit on its board despite the younger Biden’s complete lack of expertise or professional experience running a multi-national oil and gas concern.

Kent told lawmakers on Tuesday that the Obama administration spearheaded the efforts to have Shokin removed from his position as the top federal prosecutor in Ukraine. Kent said the international community — namely the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and Western nations within the European Union — were deferential to U.S. directives on the matter. At a 2018 event organized by the Council on Foreign Relations, Joe Biden — who was tasked by then-President Barack Obama to lead the U.S. government’s efforts in Ukraine — bragged about threatening to withhold a billion-dollar loan guarantee if the Ukrainian government refused to fire Shokin.

“I said, I’m telling you, you’re not getting the billion dollars,” Biden said. “I said, you’re not getting the billion. I’m going to be leaving here in, I think it was about six hours.”

“I looked at them and said, ‘I’m leaving in six hours,’” Biden recalled. “If the prosecutor is not fired, you’re not getting the money. Well, son of a b-tch. He got fired. And they put in place someone who was solid at the time.”

After Shokin was fired, he was replaced by Yuri Lutsenko, who also has been dogged by allegations of corruption. The Obama administration never demanded Lutsenko’s ouster, despite worries that Lutsenko was similarly corrupt and untrustworthy.

Allies of Biden, who is currently vying for the Democratic presidential nomination, have defended the former vice president from charges of improperly taking official actions that could financially benefit his son by claiming that the international community, rather than Biden and the Obama administration, were behind the efforts to get rid of Shokin. Kent’s testimony, however, indicates it was Biden and the Obama administration who were running the show, not the so-called international community.

Kent also testified that concerns about corruption within Burisma, where Hunter Biden inexplicably served as a highly paid board member for five years, were openly voiced long before Trump became president. According to Kent, he personally raised red flags about a 2016 initiative between the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) and Burisma due to concerns the company was tied to government corruption in the country. Kent testified that USAID was gearing up for an event with Burisma that involved children, and that he felt uncomfortable seeing children used as photo op props for a company with a reputation for corruption and graft.

Kent’s testimony was demanded by House Democrats as part of their long-running attempts to overturn the 2016 election results and remove Trump from office.

As George Takai would say, Oh my!

If this Kent fellow is to be believed then Joe Biden lied. That’s just not possible. Joe Biden first arrived in Washington DC in 1867 and during his time there he never uttered a single falsehood. His reputation for telling the truth regardless of the consequences is the reason that when he left the Senate to go to the White House they awarded him a solid gold hatchet with the words “I cannot tell a lie award” engraved thereon.

(Sadly, Hunter was showing off his dad’s award and lost it while visiting a friend who is a freelance pharmaceutical rep.)

I’m sure there must be a perfectly reasonable explanation for all of this, but since this has all been thoroughly investigated a dozen times and each investigation determined that the allegations were baseless, any attempt to poke around asking questions is just a right-wing smear.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

Looks like Babs triggered her horde of Ivanka haters. I’m not a geo-political expert like Streisand, cough, but I do think there’s more to the “Reuters” story. Warning: Pile On……

    • Constance says:

Babs: Ivanka had a company that made millions of dollars BEFORE her father was president. Hunter doesn’t have a company and he produces nothing he simply collects bribes after his father got political power.

  2. DeniseVB says:

Trump called Pelosi a 3rd Grade politician, I guess that explains her calling him nasty. LOL.

I just heard part of Special Report. Catherine Herridge reported on this testimony and mentioned not one word about this Biden revelation. Instead she focused on what was said about Giuliani, it made the witness uncomfortable to see POTUS’s personal attorney involved. However, he also testified that it was at the request of Ukraine that Rudy was involved. Asked to opine as to why the Ukrainians requested Giuliani’s involvement, he said he figured because they knew Rudy had a direct pipeline to the oval office.

Given this bombshell about Biden, why wasn’t that the lede? News bias is not only what they report, but also what they choose not to report.

I believe that about IMF. Anybody who knows anything about IMF knows generally the US calls the shots.

Well, I just managed to take my morning meds. It’s easy to forget to take them because they are sitting right in front of me. No biggie, I’ll just take the next series 8 hours late too.

    • elliesmom says:

I have pills I take in the morning and another set I take at night. I have one of those pill sorter trays that lets me see if I’ve forgotten to do it, but that doesn’t help me remember. Lately I’ve been taking the morning ones when Ellie gets up and asks to go out because she never forgets she has to pee. I’m in search of an evening anchor. Just before I go to bed doesn’t work because that time is too variable, and sometimes I fall asleep watching TV. It’s also a little late. I need something that happens every night around 8. Maybe I should start watching Tucker Carlson when he’s actually on. Tucker and my bp meds might be a good combo. 🙂

      • lateblum says:

I know… I was having the same problem. So I started setting the alarm on my phone to remind me of the pm meds. And at night I set the morning pill tray out so I don’t forget to take those as well.

      • Somebody says:

My sister got my mom an alarm clock that talks. It goes off at the appropriate time and tells mom it’s time to take your evening pills. It sits right by her chair in the den. It also goes off in the morning usually when mom is having her coffee and reading the newspaper.

That thing has been fantastic! Mom was sometimes missing almost an entire week, but not anymore. Only catch is if one of us is on the phone when it goes off. We have to tell mom to go take pills and we’ll call her back or remind her at the end of the call.

I’m pretty sure my sister got it from Amazon

      • 49erDweet says:

If you have a cell phone it probably has an alarm function where you can set various alarms. I use mine to remind me of seven various activities, including the taking of meds and picking up grandkid at a certain times. If your phone doesn’t do this, get a newer phone.

        • elliesmom says:

My cell phone will do that, but I often leave my purse with my cell phone in it inside the car. So first I’d need something to remind to bring my purse upstairs. I haven’t become tethered to my cell phone yet. I’m considering dumping my landline, but I really like not having to worry about whether my phone is charged or not. Or where I left it last.

          • 49erDweet says:

Our Huawei phones have humongously long lasting batteries, so we just recharge them while we sleep. My Honey’s battery lasts 2 days sometimes. All my pants/shorts have tech pockets so it’s always within ear shot. I’m on it now. I printed a couple of docs from it yesterday, so except for opening up large files it’s very handy. My honey just keeps hers in the back pocket of her jeans.

    https://www.zazzle.com/collections/deploribus_unum-119237495187878991?rf=238393775586770236

    • John Denney says:

You’d think they’d tell you who has the copyright to what, exactly.

Call BS and tell ’em to put up or shut up.

    • elliesmom says:

Nothing produced by the US government is copyrighted. The tax payers paid for it, and we own it. It’s why teachers don’t need to use “fair use” laws to use materials produced by NASA or NOAA in their classrooms, but they pay dearly for things produced by PBS and NPR. The government doesn’t own public broadcasting. We just subsidize part of it. Zazzle can refuse to produce anything it doesn’t want to produce, except I’m guessing they’d probably get sued if they refused to print a rainbow theme on anything. If you search for “Trump” on the Zazzle site, there are very few pro-Trump products so I’d put my money on it’s the MAGA part they don’t want to do.

Mitch is on a rant this morning. Who can blame him?

    • Somebody says:

Complaining isn’t enough. Counter their moves, you control the senate. Fight fire with fire.

He won’t because his words are lip service. He’s up for re-election this year as are other senators and republican voters are pissed at the silence. So they mouth a few words of criticism and slither back into the swamp 🙄

POTUS still doesn’t all his appointees confirmed by the senate and he’s about to start the final year of his term. Think about that, that is McConnell’s fault, but it only takes 1 senator not to agree to pro forma sessions during recess…..ONE. Then POTUS could do recess appointments.

Think about that, his own party blocking his appointments. Part of the reason there are so many Obama holdovers is because of the senate. Snakes and spies every single one. There will still be plenty if he got all his appointees through, but all this crap with Ukraine is a classic example of the damage it has done. The trouble makers are all Obama holdovers. Under normal circumstances they would have been gone 3 years ago.

So pardon me if a strongly worded tweet, a month too late I might add, doesn’t convince me McConnell has POTUS’s back. I just hope karma visits Mitch real soon.
