The Fat Lady Has Sung For California

I can still remember when I was proud to be a Californian. California was the greatest state in the greatest nation on Earth. Well, the United States is still the greatest nation (until lately that was mostly due to the lack of competition) but California has gone from “great state” to “great big pile of shit.” If you want proof, look no further than what the late great Herb Caen called “Baghdad by the Bay”:

Son of Convicted Weather Underground Cop Killers, Raised by Ayers and Dohrn, Elected DA in San Francisco

^The son of Weather Underground domestic terrorists convicted of felony murder for their role in the Brinks armored car robbery in 1981, has won a tightly contested race for district attorney in San Francisco.

Chesa Boudin won after campaigning to reform the the criminal justice system in a city already known for having a very liberal criminal justice system.

In October of 1981, Boudin’s parents, Kathy Boudin and David Gilbert, joined other members of the Weather Underground and the Black Liberation Army to rob a Brink’s armored car at the Nanuet Mall, in Nanuet, New York.

While in the process of stealing $1.6 million from the armored car, the self-professed revolutionaries killed Sgt. Edward Grady, Officer Waverly “Chipper” Brown, and Brinks guard Peter Paige, as well as wounded Paige’s partner Joseph Trombino.

Chesa Boudin, a toddler at the time of the Brinks robbery, was adopted by Weather Underground terrorist leaders Bill Ayers and Bernardine Dohrn and spent his childhood years in Chicago before studying law at Yale University.

Before coming to San Francisco, Boudin, a fellow socialist, worked as a translator for Venezuela’s late President Hugo Chavez.

“Growing up, I had to go through a metal detector and steel gates just to give my parents a hug,” Boudin, 39, said in his campaign video. He has reportedly remained close to his parents and posted a photo on his Facebook campaign page of a family reunion in New York.

Apparently, in San Francisco, touting a happy “family reunion” with convicted cop killer parents, is helpful to a campaign for district attorney.

Boudin became the latest candidate across the nation to win district attorney elections by pushing for sweeping reform over incarceration. He said he wants to tackle racial bias in the criminal justice system, overhaul the bail system, protect immigrants from deportation and pursue accountability in police misconduct cases.

“The people of San Francisco have sent a powerful and clear message: It’s time for radical change to how we envision justice,” Boudin said in a statement. “I’m humbled to be a part of this movement that is unwavering in its demand for transformation.”

He didn’t even have to suck Willie Brown’s dick to get the job.

Was that a low blow?

Remember that old television show “Twelve O’Clock High?” The thing I remember from that show was the unique whistling shriek sound of a bomb dropping. That sound is now the official state song.

The current situation was not unforeseen. Back during Reagan’s first term a popular bumper sticker out here on the Left Coast said “Welcome to California. Now go home.”

Happy Armistice Day.

Jeeebus. I’m glad I got out of CA. Though now I’m in blue VA. What the hell. Time for a new escape plan.

Has anyone watched See on Apple tv? I am mesmerized by how bad it is. 15 million an episode??????

    Vote for Sean!

Nikki Haley clarified on Hannity show. She did tell PDT about Rex Tillerson and John Kelly and the comments they made to her. She said she told the president and the then-NSA McMaster.
Rex and Kelly were against the getting out of Paris accord, out of Iran deal and moving the embassy to Jerusalem. So she was on the good side of PDT.

    • Constance says:

Good for Nikki! Trump would do well to dump Pence and pick up Nikki for VP. I don’t think Pence has a chance to be elected in 2024. Nikki might especially with a chance at VP and I’d love to see the first woman VP and President to be a Republican.

The more information, that comes out about some of the inside workings of White House advisors, who are supposed to be so smart, the more respect I have for our President, Donald J Trump.
Also, did these guys not listen to any of his campaign speeches? Not to mention, the egos of these guys. Jeeebus.

    • Somebody says:

I was so glad to hear her clarify that. I was concerned that she hadn’t and waited to gossip about it in her book. Hearing she did the right thing and not only told POTUS about backstabbing, but confronted Tillerson and Kelly on their scheming raised her a few notches in my book. Also, that she expressed her opinions and made her case to POTUS, but always carried out his policy as he wanted because he’s the elected POTUS.

before I retired from Amtrak, I worked in an old building by the tracks between Oakland and Emeryville stations. I worked the midnight shift by myself. There was an artist upstairs that would leave the outside door open, so I kept my office door locked. That was in the early 2000s. Today I would not even think about doing that. It has changed so much it is unreal. San Francisco was one of the most beautiful cities in the US. I would go there on my days off and just enjoy. Now it has become an ugly shithole. I do not understand why people there keep voting in nutsos. Have they no pride or concern about their own safety?

    But it should be.

Those protesters, are too stupid, to be ashamed of themselves.

      • lateblum says:

Absolutely. Yesterday I heard a news report that only 1% of Americans actually serve in the military. Those morons protesting and letting the world see how ungrateful and stupid they are, are damn lucky there were people who gave of themselves to make these protests still possible in this country. And by the way, these are the same people who will vote for the socialists and then complain when all their freedoms are gone – along with all their possessions.

        • Constance says:

The thing is they are stupid and they enjoy drama and victimhood. Socialism can give them stuff to bitch and dramatize and they are stupid so they won’t blame socialism they will blame “those other guys”. Socialism could work out for them. On the other hand freedom isn’t going to work well for them because they are stupid, can’t make a plan, don’t have good ideas to market, don’t even understand “cause and effect”. The best functioning people can do is limit their damage.

        • Myiq2xu™ says:

The Left learned one lesson from Vietnam – you must publically support the troops. So they mouth pieties about supporting the troops even when they are protesting a war. But when it comes down to it they hate veterans too, unless that veteran is a liberal and supports their agenda, in which case it is “How dare you question his patriotism!”

    • John Denney says:

I don’t get how blowing whistles and shouting through bullhorns is considered “peaceful”.

They oughta be arrested for disturbing the peace!

  10. Dora says:

    I hope this is true.

    • DandyTIger says:

How about the big wigs that actually raped the little kids. Of course they’ll get off scott free, that’s the way the system works.

    • Constance says:

Of course they are because the groomers are women. So let’s send some women to jail because a bunch of powerful men are perverts. Problem solved and we should all be grateful!

  11. DeniseVB says:

    Too early? 😛

    • swanspirit says:

I do love you Katie! But we don’t want her. We proved that in the 2016 election, but she hasn’t realized that yet. Hence her delusions, about Russians.

    • Anthony says:

Yah, and I bet you think the Russians also infiltrated Costco and stacked up rolls of toilet tissue next to the kiosk on your book tour to tank your sales by offering a better alternative to wipe our asses with. Why not write “What Happened II” and tell us all about it?

  12. DeniseVB says:

LOL, Twitter “Hall Monitor” …. Sean did a go lot farther than I expected though 🙂

    • elliesmom says:

I’d say the left mobilized and stuffed the ballot box to get him knocked off, but since I was one of the people stuffing the ballot box to keep him on, I’ll just say he had a good run. 🙂

  13. Dora says:

Another busy day for the president.

  14. Dora says:

Jeffery Epstein did not commit suicide. He might not even be dead!

    • Somebody says:

I don’t know that no DNA is such a bombshell. They could make a visual ID, he wasn’t blown to bits. They also had his fingerprints. DNA isn’t always used, it’s a tool if you have a question who the deceased is, like a decomposed body or bomb victims.

Now DNA evidence ON his body or the sheets is important, which I think was done, but to ID him it wasn’t necessary.

    • Constance says:

Yeah that so called “dead on a gurney” photo was off the wall. They don’t parade around institutions with uncovered dead guys and they don’t have someone with a camera when they move a dead guy. That was really off. All hospitals have several deaths a day, I’ve worked in many hospitals, I have never seen them move a dead guy. You have visited many hospitals or nursing homes and you have never seen them move a dead guy and believe me they will fill the bed with a new patient before they have time to cancel the lab requests on the guy who died. They have special gurneys with a bottom shelf, then they can drape bedding over an “empty” gurney and move a body around without notice. The uncovered dead Epstein on a gurney was just BS.

    For Anthony….lol

Tragically in some parts of CA that pension barely keeps their head above water because taxes and the cost of living are so high.

I agree it does sound like a lot of people, but how does it compare to other high COL states like NY?

I wonder if “relieving pressure on his brain” is connected to any of his recent falls? Bless his heart.

      • swanspirit says:

Yes it is. He had a bleed from a recent fall, which is too bad. I hope he recovers.

      • lateblum says:

I wondered when I heard the news this morning if his recent falls and loss of balance might be related to a return of the brain tumor he was treated for earlier this year. He seems to want to achieve a great deal more at this stage of his life. He knows his time is limited and I believe he is working to stave off the end of his life. I wish him and his family well. I also wish him many more years to do the work that has brought great meaning to his life and happiness to others.
