VM, I read that the state department upped travel warning to Italy to level 3. Which means they suggest no unnecessary travel. What I read was just a comment, no link to anything official.

    • DeniseVB says:

I think she already cancelled the trip? I don’t know, I feel her disappointment, but the anxiety alone would kill me. Not about catching the bug as much as investing all that money only to show up and find out Italy is closed.

My neighbors are leaving tomorrow for Egypt with a tour group, and since they haven’t cancelled the tour, they’re still going. They also bought the maximum trip insurance package so if they get stuck somewhere, all those expenses will be covered. They’re also retired, so they don’t care 🙂

    • votermom says:

Yeah, we saw that last night. Thanks!
I’ve already canceled hotel; waiting for the airline to extend their travel waivers to Florence and Rome. So actually the advisory going up is probably a good thing for us

I think the only people who work harder than PDJT are his speechwriters. This is the scene at CPAC this morning…..at 6:15 a.m. ! POTUS speaks at 3pm 😀

  6. DeniseVB says:

LOL, Owen Shroyer got thrown out of CPAC. As you can see, he wasn’t going quietly. I can’t wait to hear the whole story. Pissed me off when they uninvited Milo as their keynote speaker a few years ago because of a joke he made about being raped by a priest when he was 14.

  7. taw46 says:

There they go again. The MSM causing panic with their misleading headline. Making everyone think the virus is popping up all over San Antonio, when these 11 cases are all from quarantined passengers. People don’t read the article which says:
“The CDC reports those infected with the coronavirus include nine from the Diamond Princess cruise ship, one from the Wuhan group of quarantined passengers and one that was transferred from the Marine Corps Air Station Miramar in San Diego, Calif.”

I saw Emmylou Harris and Linda Ronstadt in concert together. All through it Ronstadt called Harris “She Who Must Be Obeyed” so while Ronstadt was the headliner, I don’t think she was in charge. My daughter took me to the concert for a birthday. She knew who Ronstadt was from her appearances on the Muppet Show, but Emmylou was new to her. She left a fan.

    • SHV says:

I have all of the Emmylou albums on vinyl from back in the day. Many decades a go, I saw a TV show that had the trio of Linda, Emmylou and Dolly Parton. It’s the only time that I had/have seen Dolly Parton with her natural hair and little or no makeup. She looked fantastic.

I wish there was a way to find out how many people watched rally on OANN- they don’t pay nielsen so the numbers aren’t published.

    • DeniseVB says:

OANN is what we watch the rallies on. They do the crowd shots too. If Cspan covers a political rally, they usually start with the first speakers, that’s good too if you want to spend 4 hours watching a Trump rally. The rally I attended in VB 2016 started before PDJT left his previous venue. Those were the days he was doing 3-4 a day ! It’s a good way to hear all your local party politicians and make new BFF’s in the crowd.

I remember following Sarah Palin on Cspan in 2008, they were so good to her, while MSM was ignoring her.

Well, I sure don’t remember Michelle being thanked by the chillren’s after she beat them in international sack races. Her stupid #NoKidsFatBehinds initiatives seemed to only serve as stepping stones to the next fundraiser, Hollywood party or vacation.

Remember how their Hawaii Christmas vacations always included a 15 minute stop enroute to thank the troops or something? Paid for their entire travel expenses under “official business”. The girls were also added as Staff, nobody complained.

I had to chuckle at last night’s rally when PTrump brought up “impeaching Obama” for the Obamacare lies. My tinfoil hat got a ping that there’s another subliminal message there 🙂

      • Mothy67 says:

I put on HGTV most of the time during the day unless the annoying property brothers are on then my tv goes to OAN or that Harris Faulkner solo show. I dig her and wish they’d replace Bream with her.

        • DeniseVB says:

Oh those Property Brothers annoy me too. Skip and Joanna Gaines are starting their own NETWORK this fall (taking over the DIY Channel), they’ll become my new background noise. 🙂 I keep Mom Cave TV on TCM and the Hallmark Channel most days now. TVLand for the 90’s sitcom marathons. Keeps me centered when someone responds to one of my tweets……you are stupid. LOL !

          • Somebody says:

OK, so what annoys you about the property brothers? Their corney jokes? Their designs?

          • Mothy67 says:

The realtor gets under my skin. I could stomach the other one without him. Not sure if it is his ill fitting clothes or the way he talks to people that bugs me most. He just does not feel natural. I like love it or list it( with the brit) and they have corny jokes.

        • swanspirit says:

I don’t like the way the Property Brothers twist their clients arms to like their style. Also their interactions are too forced. They aren’t natural..
My new favorite on HGTV is Home Town. They design their homes around the people that will live in them. And they are lovely people.

        • DeniseVB says:

His rallies just keep getting better. I was worried about last night and the corona concerns. If he couldn’t fill half that venue, would msm reported “HE’sLosingHisBase” ? Love how he always points to CNN with a dig, and he points out they turn their camera off, LOL. Love him.

Some guy from Mom’s church died a couple weeks ago and they are having a memorial service today. I asked her if they kept the body in a meat locker all this time and she said he was already cremated. Then she tells me, “It is a memorial service, not a funeral. We’re not going there to mourn his death, we’re going to celebrate his life.”

I told her, “I get it. He died, and you guys are celebrating.”

    • DeniseVB says:

I’m on Team Cremating. Unforturnately, my dh is on Team Arlington Cementary with the horsey and 21 gun salute. I hope I go before him. I qualify to be buried with him, but at that point, I don’t care.

I do think Life Celebrations are better at these things.

    • lateblum says:

Stop it… Your poor mom’s having enough problems with aging and death. Did she get her hair done?

    • elliesmom says:

We did a celebration for ED. Friends with little kids were worried about bringing them along, but I assured them he’d want them there. We put up a big foam board and let everyone bring their favorite photos, my grandson gave all the little kids rides up and down the stairs on Popsy’s stairlift, and he was there in the middle of it all in a big bear cookie jar because if you asked him what he wanted to be when he grew up, he’d say “a big brown bear”. My kids were hesitant at first, but a month ago we had another family funeral to go to, and it was at a funeral home and everything was quiet and hushed. Afterwards, my kids said, “Mom, you were right. Dad would have hated this kind of a send off.”

I wonder what effect Trump’s voting poll at the rally will have. The crowd endorsed “bernie” so will dims react and go with joe orvlieawatha. Maybe mini?

    • lateblum says:

OMG… if the mini Mike ads don’t stop soon, I’ll have to shoot my tv and radio. The one I keep hearing now is about how #Coronavirus is like 9/11 and how brave he was to lead the city out of hell following the attacks. So we’ve not only got the Bloomberg lies, but also the fear-mongering about COVID-19 to deal with. #^&@^%(^!

    • ginainmo says:

Joe Biden under probe in Ukraine for alleged link to top prosecutor’s 2016 ouster: report

Investigators in Ukraine have launched a probe into former U.S. Vice President Joe Biden over allegations that he pressured Ukrainian officials to fire the country’s top prosecutor in 2016, according to a report.

The Ukrainian probe was launched in response to a court order, after the ousted prosecutor, Viktor Shokin, made an appeal for action in the matter, Shokin’s attorney, Oleksandr Teleshetsky, told The Washington Post.

      • lateblum says:

Except for my primary election in 2weeks. I’m voting D for the primary. 👍

        • elliesmom says:

I’ve been trying to decide what to do about the primary. I live in a pocket of Trump supporters. They want to shock the system by getting the numbers for Trump higher than anyone would predict for him. I can see that, but I’m not sure it would make any difference. My friends who are Democrats are all over the place. My gay and Lesbians friends are for Buttigieg, but they concede by the time RI votes, he might be out of the race. A couple of the Democrats have kids who want Bernie to win, and while they don’t agree, they say they’re going to be dead soon so the young people should get the POTUS they want. There are women who are still set on seeing a woman win, and they think Warren has a better shot than Klobuchar. No one i know is hoping for Bloomberg, and his ads don’t show up much in the Boston/Providence TV market. My neighbors didn’t know Tom Steyer was even running when I mentioned his name. The consensus is they’d want to know who Biden’s running mate would be before they cast a vote for him in the primary, but if he gets the nomination, they’d vote for him over Trump. If I want to do an Operation Chaos thing, I don’t know who’d be the candidate to choose.

          • lateblum says:

I checked the LWV website to have a look at the ballot for my district. There are 9 (or 11) candidates for the Dem nomination for President. Ppl who are no longer running – Booker, Patrick, Yang are still on the ballot. I don’t know whether to vote for Tulsi, Bloomberg or an unknown. I do know who I’m not voting for, though. Most of my D friends are still on the fence about who they’ll vote for. They’re worried Bernie will be the nominee. They figure only Biden or Bloomberg have a chance to win in Nov.
I’m mostly voting D to vote against the AG and to NOT vote for Durbin and Schakowsky. No one is running against either. But a D ballot with other D votes but not for Durbin and not for Schakowsky should send a message.

          • lyn says:

I’m voting for Bernie in the Oregon primary which is in May.

          • ginainmo says:

Missouri has an open primary and I’m a Bernie Bro a week from Tuesday.

          • Miranda says:

I was going to vote for Buttigieg, because of the ones running, he seems the most moderate. However, I don’t think he has an actual chance to be the nominee, especially after SC. Basically, I don’t want Sander to be the Democrat nominee because if enough Trump-haters of both parties hold their nose and vote, I don’t want him for president. So maybe Biden, although he’s nuts.

I remember 10 years ago when the swine flu hit in the US. 65 million infected, over 250,000 hospitalized, over 12,000 died but I don’t remember all the media hype. Obama didn’t even declare an emergency until 6 months after the flu started. This is all BS!

    • lyn says:

The 2009 flu pandemic in the United States was a novel strain of the Influenza A/H1N1 virus, commonly referred to as “swine flu”, that began in the spring of 2009. The virus had spread to the US from an outbreak in Mexico.[116]

As of mid-March 2010, the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) estimated that about 59 million Americans contracted the H1N1 virus, 265,000 were hospitalized as a result, and 12,000 died.[117]
