maybe this guy is not so wrong. When you think about the bs that was put in the bill, the lawmakers that pass it should do it in person and not over the phone

    • Jentx says:

I love Donald Trump I really do I actually think he blessed because he has survived the attacks and I mean blessed by the Almighty. I support him one hundred percent but I do not believe in this bill it is so full of pork and the worst type of pork and I’m surprised that he is not calling it out I’m scared that he is playing politics and this is not par for his course. The pork in that bill makes me physically ill including but not limited to a raise for politicians and 350 million dollars for Refugee and immigration. What the fuck is that we don’t have money to take care of our veterans and our seniors and the Democrats want to push for 350 million dollars to be spent on non-americans. Donald needs to trust us because all vote for him till the end of time he can stand there and say I cannot pass this bill because this money is desperately needed by us by Americans earned it and deserve it and it doesn’t need to go to politicians and it doesn’t need to go to people who are not Americans. I cannot watch the news anymore I don’t understand what’s happening but I don’t think it’s a accidents and I don’t think it’s a God thing I think they’re serious bad things of foot and I’m concerned that’s all I know

      • DeniseVB says:

Donald is NOT a politician, it’s why the Swamp wants to destroy him. Before JFK became President, I loved his backstory, so accomplished, personally and professionally. He became a politician to make things better for us, sadly, he was assassinated. I worry about PDJT everyday, I’m thankful for the USSS protecting him. Probably the hardest job in the world right now, despite pandemics.

      • Myiq2xu™ says:

Trump learned how politics get done as a young man in NYC. The Big Apple isn’t as corrupt as Chicago but “pay to play” is still the rule. If you want to get something done in NYC you’re gonna have to grease a few palms. Politicians, bureaucrats, union leaders, and the mob all want a cut of the action. Washington DC is like two bandit gangs fighting over the loot from a single bank robbery.

Taxpayers are the bank. No matter who wins, we lose.

        • DeniseVB says:

What was freaky in the video I shared, towards the end, Flynn was a monster, bigger than Hollywood, they had to destroy him, it failed. Reminded me of the Weinstein kerfluffle

          • Myiq2xu™ says:

The Democrats will keep bashing Trump until the day he dies. Then they’ll protest his funeral. To the Democrats, Trump’s election was like if Big Brother woke up one morning and found out that Emmanuel Goldstein was in charge.

    • Miranda says:

I want the bill passed because the people need the money and it will help calm the markets. Yes, it’s full of pork, but it will still be a morale booster, and that’s what’s needed more than anything now.

      • Mothy67 says:

I am against it, but it will be passed so he is just being an ass. Express dissent. Great.

Hope ya’ll enjoy the video. It’s about an hour and worth it. I just can’t the media Orange Man Bad anymore. I’ve learned that Errol never gave a f**k, and the studios finally destroyed him. This was the 30s/40s, yuh, the Golden Age, makes our modern whiners look so pathetic now.

    • Myiq2xu™ says:

Triage is the process of prioritizing patients based on who has the most urgent need and who is most likely to survive if they get medical attention.

Imagine you are in a burning house. Your elderly parent and your small child are both in there. You can only carry one of them and you won’t be able to come back for the other. Which one do you grab?

NYC has refrigerated trucks on stand-by in case the morgues get overwhelmed. That doesn’t mean they expect to use them, just that they are prepared.

  3. Mothy67 says:

How can meg and harry move to CA? I thought the border was closed. They were around chuck, but they can just stroll in?

    • Anthony says:

Must have something to do with her Disney gig

      • DeniseVB says:

Funny that I never heard of Sparkle til she snagged a Prince. Never heard of her show “Suits” either. Like Juicey Omlette, never heard of him or his show either. We have a media problem. Politics aside, this is definitely a media driven clusterf**k of news.

        • elliesmom says:

You might like “Suits”. I lost track of before the last couple of seasons, but at the beginning it was something I sat down to watch. Lots of interesting characters and an interesting premise.

          • Mothy67 says:

The first season of Empire was watchable. It’s a soap and the female star could chew the scenery. I checked it out when jussie was lynched.

      • Mt.Laurel says:

The Disney gig Sparkles got Harry to beg for was over with last year at some Dinsey party (and he he dissed real work for the Marines as Sparkles wanted to go to said party so it has pi$$ed off a lot of people in the UK).

It was suppose to be released in theaters but now they are just putting it on that streaming service they started. It is just a narration and the guy that gave it to her was moved out and the new guy at the Bog Mouse House said Sparkles needs them far more than they need her and she made things—- difficult. So – does not look like that is the reason for the latest supposed move.

    • DeniseVB says:

They left Canada before the border closed, in a private plane. Hope they didn’t forget Archie. They used Coronavirus as excuse, Yeah, right.

      • Mt.Laurel says:

The Kung Flu excuse was not used until AFTER Sparkles left the UK. Before that is was for Archie’s safety or Archie’s special diet or Archie’s whatever.

I am still laughing at the stories that Archie is a doll and/or Rent-a -Kid. After seeing some of the stunts Sparkles and Harry have pulled, part of me is rather hoping those tricksters are right.

Coyotes are spotted roaming the streets of San Francisco during coronavirus pandemic after all of its residents were ordered to stay at home

    https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-8160023/Coyotes-spotted-roaming-streets-San-Francisco.html

    • elliesmom says:

I live with coyotes close by all the time. Anytime there’s a change in the ecosystem they check it out to see if it’s advantageous to them.

      • DeniseVB says:

Red fox, eagles, turkey vultures, possums et al, visit our home all the time. When I had the mini dachshunds, they were never allowed outside without an escort 😉

        • elliesmom says:

I have an opossum living under my back deck. I put out sunflower seeds for him. I’m saying “him” because I’ve never seen little ones, but that could change. They eat their weight several times over in ticks, and with the opossum living there, I seldom find any on Ellie. Given how hard it is to check her for them, it’s worth a couple of bags of seeds to keep him there. The trick is to stop feeding him when the ticks show up.

          • DeniseVB says:

We have possums, great little pest control machines 🙂

          • cynic says:

Being a horse owner, we have to discourage any opossums wanting to come here, and have seen them, on occasion, in our barn.

            ……..
“There is convincing evidence that the parasite that causes Equine Protozoal Myeloencephalitis (EPM), a disease in horses, is carried by the opossum. EPM is an infection of the central nervous system; the neurologic signs that are most apparent in horses include dizziness, weakness, and spasticity.

          • elliesmom says:

Are you kidding? Half of my family is from the hills of West Virginia. I’ve eaten squirrel. Not bad, but not a lot of meat on the bones. At least that’s what my grandfather told me it was. It tasted surprisingly like chicken. 🙂

        • cynic says:

We have a food bowl right outside our back door for our barn cat. Last week I saw a skunk eating out of it!!!!

      • Miranda says:

My neighbors have seen coyotes, including pups. Their cat jumped from a stair rail to a roof to get away from one once. I’ve seen foxes, raccoons, deer (so many deer) and so on. We have a back dormer right under an upstairs window, and I was passing by, and there was a vulture staring in, like “Anybody dead in here?” That was a shock.

    • Mothy67 says:

We need grown ups right now. Not histrionics. Some people are very afraid. These attention seeking cupid stunts need to show some gravitas. Imagine being a young actor or actress living in NYC. You waited tables and maybe share an apartment. Your income is gone. You are trapped in a tiny apartment. You might not even be able to leave. It’s a city of almost 9 million and you are alone day after day. The media is screaming we are all going to die. You get this idiot as a representative and hillary making jokes about it. You have no idea what you are going to do.
Trump comes on and he is realistic but offers hope. The media and that includes some on Fox is torturing people hour after hour. They are not standing behind the president as he faces the greatest challenge that the country has seen in my life time. Everyone should be behind him. Amazing that people would rather see the country dissolve before offering support. They cheer stock market losses.
One good thing is I believe killary ended any prospect of 2020 with her recent tweets especially today’s doozy. She wrote that and then hit send.

      • Constance says:

People cheer the stock losses because they can’t relate to owning stock. They think the super rich are the only people losing when stock goes down. That is because we have a lot of useless public education. They need to start teaching useful topics. Budgeting, how the markets work which is no more complicated than video games, useful subjects like banking, vocational training. If they were teaching valuable skills people wouldn’t drop out of school.

Well, the bill passed, and while that makes both me and my travel partner very happy, it means she’s not be able to take the time off from work when we planned. She’s the benefits administrator where she works. Lots of benefits to manage now. So we postponed our trip today. We had non-refundable tickets, but American Airlines issued me a credit on the spot. We have at least until next January to use it. I still expect things will be OK virus-wise by the date of our trip, but I’ll give her some time for things to settle down at work, and if they don’t, I’ll go without her. Our hostess is disappointed, but she knows we postponed. We didn’t cancel. The airline was exceptionally nice. They have to be stressed out.

I’m relieved to hear about you ur husband. It is way too sad for the others – for now.

I remember when Intel laid off, aka fired, 14,000+ ppl in 2016. They immediately demanded the cars, with no exceptions on that very day. They’d have stuck to it, too but the HR person in charge of the vehicles threatened to quit. She was seemingly the only one who knew that ppl who had driven to work and had little ones to pick up from schools and childcare would be in real trouble without access to transportation. The bigwigs who made those decisions never had to worry about those scenarios.

All the card readers have been moved to the start of the belt so no one can put things down until after you pay and you are six feet from cashier. There is a large plexi glass shield between you and cashier. I was there three days ago and it was nothing like that. Reusable bags would be difficult with this set-up and unfair to cashier. No soups, eggs, or butter. People were very nice. The didn’t fix the loyalty card problem. Most people have it on their keys. Dr. Brix thinks one of the issues in NY was the lifespan of the virus on metal. People may have passed it holding on on the subway. Keys are metal. Easy fix is to give attendant your phone number or scan your reciept at home. I got wine which i believe is a substitute for eggs.

They look really good, but I have to laugh at how she keeps emphasizing how little butter there is in them. She substituted 2 tablespoons of canola oil for 2 tablespoons of butter. If you take 2 tablespoons of butter and divide it by her 12 packzi, that’s not enough difference in fat content or calories to register in a daily diet, but the difference in taste between using butter and using an unflavored vegetable oil is a big deal. Have you ever eaten cookies made with Crisco instead of butter? If you decide to make these, live dangerously and use 2 tablespoons of melted butter. 🙂

      • Mothy67 says:

I was 5 pounds over my ideal weight. I could do nothing to rid myself of those few pounds. I have been eating non stop since the apocalypse. I stop eating when I am done. No measuring. I lost weight. I have been eating pizza until I get to that point where you debate one more slice. You want one more but you are full. You pick it up anyhow and take one bite. I had been letting myself have 2.5 slices to lose 5 pounds. I eat the whole pie now and lost weight.

The ATC map is slightly off. The Jacksonville area extends south to include Tampa area and Miami stretches south and east with a lot of oceanic routes. I grew up with Julia Child’s cooking shows and there was no substitute for real butter. I remember her rants about margarine and other “healthy” alternatives, butter makes your hair shiny ! Also learned the difference between beef based lard and vegetable bases oils. Who doesn’t mourn the day McDonald’s switched and ruined the best fast food french fries ever! 🙂

        • elliesmom says:

I admit I don’t like Jello. It’s just wiggly Kool-Aid. My grandmother would make sugar-free Jello for dessert whenever she was “dieting”. I just skipped dessert then. When she wasn’t dieting, boy, could she turn out the best all butter, real cream, sugar-laden desserts. I’d rather have a tiny slice of that than a whole bowl of sugar-free Jello. My hot fudge sundae I had for dinner last night looked bigger than it was because it was in a tall, skinny glass. It was probably 500 calories or so. It had good quality ice cream and real whipped cream, but it was all I ate. Five hundred calories gets you on the “Skinnylicious” menu at the Cheesecake Factory.

      • Somebody says:

Agree about the butter EM, I was thinking the same thing, that substitute of oil for butter is virtually meaningless fat wise, but I bet it makes a big difference in taste.

My daughter loves these. They are only available here around Fat Tuesday. Gotta get them when you can, they are here and gone. I didn’t think I was going to get her any this year, but I lucked out and snagged a couple of boxes by being at the right place, right time. Only one supermarket here ever carries these in their bakery.

I watched the video and thought I might make them for DD and for hubby too. They both love these, but they love donuts too. I used to work next door to a huge Krispy Keene that supplied the area. If you smell donuts day in and day out for a couple of years, they become far less appealing, IMO 😉 If there was nothing left on earth to eat but donuts I’d survive, but I’d be as thin as a rail 😂 I would never over indulge 😂

Plus butter is 80% oil and 20% water and canola oil is 100% oil so using all butter should be less calories. Maybe she is a vegan. I have run across vegans who get upset over butter. Unfortunately I have a relative who is vegan, lactose free, gluten free. Every time we walk in a restaurant she announces this and then says “but I’m not picky what do you have for me today!” I just cringe. I’m sure restaurant people spit in her food. Senator Urges Cuomo To Open Gun Shops

Having shut down the gun shops makes Cuomo unqualified to run for president. And if Dems are considering some sort of Dem convention coup to pull him in, they may want to think about how he’s done that. Not quite as bad as full confiscation like Biden has promised, but right up there with it. If you want him to open up the shops again, that might be the angle to go for.

So what was up with that? Have other unions hoarded mass quantities? I didn’t understand the large numbers silicon valley had, but now I do. After the wildfires, CA mandated businesses have X number of N-95 masks per employee due to air quality. So that means there are a LOT more N-95 masks stashed away in CA. I haven’t heard of any of the studios rushing to donate N-95 masks 🤔

It was the CA SEIU so maybe that law had something to do with them having so many masks. Bottom line is, somebody needs to have a chat with Newsome and find all these stores of N-95 masks. It’s kind of funny if you think about it, CA’s nanny state tendencies may turn out to be a saving grace. The feds should be scouring CA right now.

I just got back from walking Ellie. She was romping around in the sand at the beach when a Ford Escort with New York license plates pulled up along side the entrance. The window came down, and a middle-aged guy and his lady asked me for directions to the street they were sitting under the street sign for. But I played along. I said, “When you get to your friends’ or relatives’ house, you might want to ask if you can park in their garage. Our governor has put New Yorkers on the list of things we can hunt, and this is a heavily armed neighborhood.” I sometimes forget after teaching 8th grade, I’m very good at saying outrageous things with a straight face.
They closed the window and drove off. But they came back 10 minutes later and opened the window again.
“Our friends won’t let us in.”
“But they didn’t shoot you so there’s that.”

You know we laugh or we complain about people from NY. The truth is I understand, it’s a survival instinct. However, if they had simply heeded the shelter in place, social distancing and follow good hygiene they were/are at much lower risk. Provided they haven’t already contracted the virus.

Instead they crowd into airplanes with strangers, breathing recirculated air. Their bags are handled, rifled through and tossed about by strangers that are doing the same to lots of bags. So everything they brought with them is now potentially contagious.

The ones that are in cars have to stop for gas. Gas pumps are one of the worst things you can handle. Lots of people touch them. If you’re not careful with hygiene you’ve likely exposed yourself and passengers. Whereas if they just stayed at home, they most likely would have been fine.

Maybe they can’t get food? Maybe they are fearful of not being able to get medical attention? If they are just afraid of contracting the virus though, they would be far better off sheltering in place. The virus isn’t going to kick in their door and attack them.

        • Anthony says:

In defense of New Yorkers, yes we go out on the street. How the fuck else are we going to go food shopping? We also walk on our respective edge of the sidewalks when we’re passing each other on the street. Even people who own cars only use them when we’re going out of town.

I’m with you on ppl staying in NYC rather than going to our respective weekend seasonal homes.

We’re a city of more than 8M people. Of course the numbers are going to be higher than in smaller communities. It doesn’t mean that we’re scofflaws or live like millennials on spring break. We’re all in this together. Let’s not start treating each other like enemies or threats.

          • elliesmom says:

I was nice to them, but let’s get real. They obviously didn’t call ahead to see if they were welcome. You can come to my house if you want. I’ll let the state troopers know I invited you when they call me to confirm, and the two of us will have to go into a 14 day quarantine. You because you came from New York, and me because I let you in. If you come by car, I will have you put it in my garage because I will be persona non grata in my neighborhood for letting you come. This corner of RI is virus-free so far, and the folks here have gone to great lengths to keep it that way. People who live in rural or semi-rural places get dumped on a lot by the “city folks” so they don’t have a lot of patience with them. 🙂

          • Anthony says:

Thats why I isolated the statement “I’m with you on ppl staying in NYC rather than going to our respective weekend seasonal homes.”
After reading your comment, I mused that they must have shown up without asking if they could visit. Its not like anyone from New York was just in the hood and decided to just swing by…

FTR, I would never think of visiting until this whole shelter in place thing is lifted. Any civilized person should be smart enough to know that

I think cuomo pissed off a lot of people outside of NY. He as acted entitled. Sends out a message we matter more.

        • 1539days says:

Ironically, you have nothing to fear from a New Yorker / Chinese person / Washingtonian as long as you all practice social distance. However, I think most people are skeptical of it. People where I work (“essential” business) can’t resist the urge to walk between two people standing 6 feet apart because it’s faster to get somewhere.

          • elliesmom says:

These people were looking to move into a little house with a family that’s already living there. “Social distancing” for 6 people in a 1600 sg ft house with one bathroom isn’t easy. I wasn’t uncomfortable giving them directions. I just thought it was funny the sign post was less than 6ft away from them. But RI has a lot of summer homes that belong to people who live in New York. There has been an influx of people opening up their summer homes earlier than usual. Their cupboards are empty, and one of the first things they need to do is hit the stores. The Governor can’t deny people access to homes they own so she’s attempting to track them. She hopes to set up mobile testing sites at the border along the highway and at the bus and train stations. Test the people coming in from hot spots and ask them to self- quarantine until they get their results back. The ACLU is taking her to court.

          • 1539days says:

So, I live in the huge part of New York that isn’t downstate or Manhattan. They have about 85% of all state cases and the rest of the state has the COVID density of the rest of the country. People from the city are travelling upstate to hunting camps or other properties they already own and could be bringing it this way. As it is the same state, Cuomo isn’t going to differentiate upstate from downstate.

          • elliesmom says:

Our Governor isn’t trying to deny New Yorkers access to RI. But people tout the “South Korean” model of “test and track” as the way to go until they’re the people being tested and tracked. And our Governor has to know what population she needs to plan for. Our population ebbs and flows with the seasons. It’s a big summer vacation spot. The mansions of Newport were all “summer cottages” for the wealthy in New York, and the common folks flock to the islands just off our coast.

Oh just great 🙄 They set up huge testing centers in Jacksonville last week or maybe a little before. You had to have a doctor referral, very few came. So then they said a doctor referral or anybody 65 or older.

I thought great, let’s mingle old people with those doctors say are symptomatic🙄 Still very few came. The city was disappointed the seniors didn’t line up to get tested (clearly we have smart seniors). So today, come on down, anybody can be tested 🙄 You just have to claim you have a cough or feel short of breath. Show up they have, apparently very long lines. I won’t be going 🙄

They approved the (relatively) instant test for Corona where you can swab the front of your nose yourself, yesterday. They had been using it in Seattle to keep track of medical personnel and it turned out to pick up 90% of Covid cases which matched the lab test that took hours. That should help corral people who are spreading the virus. Seattle is also doing a survey of Covid-19 antibodies in the general population. That should give evidence to remove the lock-down. Also Seattle had a rate of increase in new cases of only 3% on Wednesday, 16% on Thursday and then 5% yesterday so things are turning around. The news only shouts that new cases are increasing and deaths are increasing but the situation is vastly improved. We have been in lock down a few days longer than other places.

POTUS is right hydroxy chloroquine and zithromyacin are da bomb!!

She was right yesterday morning, her vitals needed a half a day to catch up, but she said she felt better.

Wow, wow, wow, clearly not a double blind test like Fauci wants and not proof it works 100% for everybody, but I know if I get this crap I’ll ask for it.
