Are Democrats Really As Dumb As A Bag Of Hammers?

The Democrat Brain Trust

Could anyone really be that stupid? I dunno, but if they aren’t stupid then they are very, very, evil. I go back and forth on this question.

George Neumayr at Spectator:

Playing Dumb About Obamagate

Liberals are dismissing “Obamagate” as another one of Donald Trump’s “conspiracy theories.” Never mind that Trump has been right from the beginning about the Obama administration spying on his campaign. James Comey sanctimoniously denied spying on Trump Tower, even as spying warrants giving him the power to intercept communications there sat on his desk. And never mind that Obama’s fingerprints are all over the Flynn-related espionage.

It is impossible to overstate the anger the media would have expressed had George W. Bush pulled such stunts on the Obama campaign.

Liberals love to sanitize their own scandals. Once censorious of the CIA and FBI, they now act like it is inconceivable that those agencies could ever abuse power, could ever spy on anyone improperly, could ever be weaponized politically. And so much for liberals’ ACLU-style anxieties about the civil liberties of Americans. They have shown zero sympathy to Carter Page, even though the FBI massively violated his privacy with an improperly obtained warrant. The civil libertarian Left disappears during Democratic scandals.

Liberals used to scoff at Richard Nixon saying if a president does something it can’t be illegal. But liberals’ presumption about Obama is little different: if he did something, their attitude goes, it can’t be wrong.

Imagine if George W. Bush had participated in setting up a perjury trap for an incoming Obama official. The media furor would have been deafening. But Obama’s complicity in the Michael Flynn scandal, we’re told, is no big deal.

Just as Obama can do no wrong in the media’s reckoning, Trump can never be right. He is the clear victim of all the baseless spying on his campaign, which led to years of unfounded harassment that hobbled his presidency. And yet the media tells us that he is wrong to complain about it. How dare he notice that he was railroaded.

Of course, many of the media figures calling Obamagate a “distraction” are buddies with its architects. John Brennan and James Clapper are retained as contributors by the very media organizations that refuse to cover their scandals. Too bad H. R. Haldeman couldn’t have worked out such a deal.

To the extent that the media covers the Obama administration’s spying on the Trump campaign at all, it presents the espionage in the most innocuous terms. Even something as outlandish as infiltrating his campaign — the FBI’s sending in of Stefan Halper to entrap minor Trump campaign volunteers — is treated as “by the book,” to borrow Susan Rice’s phrase. Halper was just a “confidential informant,” we’re told by the media. Nothing to see there.

Again, it is impossible to overstate the anger the media would have expressed had George W. Bush pulled such stunts on the Obama campaign. That would not have been blandly described as “standard procedure” or a good-faith mistake. Some liberals have ludicrously suggested that it would have been a “dereliction of duty” if the Obama administration hadn’t spied on the Trump campaign. They say this even after it has come out that much of the spying rested on a bogus dossier financed by Trump’s opponent, even after the outrageous Strzok texts, even after the incriminating Flynn-related documents.

Only liberals could say “we don’t know what the scandal is” in the face of such facts. Their capacity for denial and projection is staggering. They spent three years accusing a government of interfering in our election, only for Americans to find out that that government was their own. It was the John Brennans, Peter Strzoks, and James Comeys who interfered in the election the most. And they were the ones who used foreigners to do it. Brennan and company not only made use of Hillary’s British smear merchant, Christopher Steele, but also other foreign intelligence agents — all in the service of a spying operation that proved utterly fruitless and never had any foundation to it.

I don’t think the typical rank-and-file Democrats are evil, but some of their leaders definitely are. Fortunately for the rest of us, their leaders don’t seem to be none too bright. But Leftism is not geared for deep thinkers.

100 years ago Leftism appealed to intellectuals, but back then it was still just a theory. Events of the 20th Century proved that Leftism does not work. Today Leftism only appeals to pseudo-intellectuals and stupid people who want someone to blame for their shitty lives.

Whether or not the Democrats are stupid, they sure think we are. At least they think there are enough stupid voters to swing an election. They could be right.

Democrats play dumb when facts get thrown in their faces, and all Democrats are evil.

we have dumbed down a generation that will blindly follow anyone who promises something for nothing. Think about it when is the last time patriotism, love of country, history were taught in schools? We have taught a generation that you do not have to be responsible for actions, it is always the other guy’s fault. Those that fight for this country really do not get the respect they deserve anymore. That started in the 60s and never really went away. If you question today, you are accused of racism, and any phobia the msm and their followers want to pin on you. Take a good look at a lot of our pols today, they follow the alinski playbook to the letter. America is one of the greatest countries in the world. Gave hope and help to the world, now too many would let her be brought down without a fight. It breaks my heart that future generations will not know the greatness of this country.

There is a version of American Exceptionalism that is very similar to Manifest Destiny – the idea that God created America to be a beacon of light for the rest of the world.

If you believe that then it is just one baby step farther to believe that the forces of darkness are waging war on America. It sure would explain a lot of things.

Back in 2008 someone suggested that Barack Obama was the antichrist. I said I would expect the antichrist to have more gravitas. Obama is a lightweight.

starting with the pilgrims, people came to America for freedom. religions, class differences We were taught if we work hard, look around and see what is needed and do we can go to the top of the heap. It did not matter what your father did, you had the chance to be what you wanted to be. When attacked we worked together to repel all boarders. Even when we had a civil war, when it ended we worked together to heal the wounds. Is it a perfect country no, any country that has people will never be perfect. Because people are not perfect. We struggle along doing the best we can

What I see now is an enemy within who just take and have no care for this great country or her citizens. They have not understood, when this country goes down, they will go down too They think they will be the big chiefs in charge, that ain’t gonna happen. Because they will never be trusted with anything. They seem to be killing off the old so the young never learn the greatness of this country.
Greg Guitfeld was saying tonight, how we do not take care of the elderly in this country. If you can find the video of the five, it is worth watching. They think the Constitution is just a suggestion, not a set of laws. The country was very lucky to have such great men, with great ideas that founded her and fought for her freedom.

Funny thing, I was talking to my doctor last week and we discussed the quarantine. I do not go out that much anymore. Only drive when I have to do so. But my Irish genes really start to act up when someone tells me I CAN NOT go out. Makes me want to party hardly.

Our holidays are a bit messed up. Easter seems to be about bunnies laying chocolate eggs, and memorial day about grilling. But hey, I’m going with it.

As a kid, Memorial Day morning was all about honoring our dead veterans. The celebration ended at the town’s Civil War Memorial because someone who had started the traditions knew their history. But the afternoon was about hanging out with the ones who survived. A big chicken barbecue in the American Legion parking lot and the opening of the “bocce season”. We have a few end of May birthdays in our family. Memorial Day weekend I usually host a chicken barbecue, and I inherited one of the sets of bocce balls from the American Legion guys when my dad died. I hoist his coffin flag, also a gift from them, and we celebrate and honor the holiday his way. It’s going to be a rainy weekend here, and I’m kind of glad. I’d rather think the it was the rain that has postponed the opening of the bocce season this year.

I have March 16 marked on my calendar as the day I last left my house. (My backyard is a lakefront personal park, don’t feel bad for me 😉 ) I’m an introvert by nature, so I’m rather enjoying it. I still want NORMAL, but will let my city open up, won’t go to the beach/restaurants and wait……who will die first, the extroverts or the husband who’s been wearing the same “infected” face mask for 2 months? Stay tuned 😀

  16. Cisco says:

I might have mentioned yesterday that I moved out of Chicago.
Been away about 6 months and its wonderful.
Especially now that Chicago’s Demon Dwarf mayor pulls this shit.
While the rest of Illinois begins opening up Groot decides this.

    • Dora says:

You are better off out of that city. Good luck in your new home.

      • Cisco says:

Thank you for your good wishes.
One of the last things that happened before I moved was charging $25 a year for a “residential parking permit.
$25 to literally park in front of my apartment former that is.

    • Miranda says:

It sounds like a good move. I love how she compares her constituents to her 12-year-old. There may not be a treatment or vaccine for a year or more, if ever. Is she planning to gut the city until then?

I get a haircut next Thursday! I can’t get it colored until June 24 (it would be a disaster if I did it), but at least it will be short!!

      • elliesmom says:

I wouldn’t put permanent hair color in myself, but the stuff that eventually washes out is pretty easy to use. Nothing to mix. You basically shampoo it in. It would be just about gone by the 24th.

        • Miranda says:

I don’t mind the gray as much as the fact that it looks like a mop unless I have it in my librarian’s bun.

Years ago I made a deal with my hair, if I stop coloring you will you stop falling out? I have that Irish corn silk hair, like Donald’s, it just changes colors with the light. 🙂

This is how they think on the left. They are nuts!

    • DeniseVB says:

The left keeps failing to outdo the great “I’d vote for Trump even if he shot a man on 5th Ave just to watch him die” (I think it’s from a Johnny Cash song) and Trump did live on 5th Ave.

Remember the lady who said she’d vote for Biden even if he raped her on 5th Ave? Yeah, they can’t figure it out 😀

Nothing to see here, it was just a “joke”. Wasn’t Roseanne Barr’s joke in “jest” too? She lost everything and labeled a racist for life.

    • somebody says:

She means Joe is a joke. You’re correct about Rosanne and many others whose lives have been ruined for less. Also, POTUS is famous for sarcasm, which is ALWAYS taken literally by the press. POTUS makes some wise crack and media collectively fall on their fainting couches 🙄

It’s amazing how the pearl clutching and SJW crowd give Joe a pass for any and everything. One might come to the conclusion all their virtue signaling is BS, of course some might have come to that conclusion a long time ago.
