“There is No Other Place To Go”

This Cuban-American stole the RNC opening night with these emotional seven minutes that sum up the choice we face. Thank you, Maximo Alvarez.

another good one, that taw posted in the previous thread

    • jeffhas says:

This was the best speech of the night. I saw it in real time and it completely breaks all media narratives of Trump… in 180 seconds.

There is a reason not one CNN/MSNBC pundit mentioned Herschel Walkers name.

    • swanspirit says:

Thank you for bringing that, I missed it, and was just going to.look for it. Wow! Every single speech was powerful in its own way. Even Nikki Haley
❤ 🇺🇸 And thank you Herschel, for being a good friend!

      • lateblum says:

Agreed. I really was tired and so uncomfortable last night. I had no intention of watching on tv because NPR had already announced that Nick Sandmann would be speaking tomorrow(tonight). They identified him as the young high school student who had “confronted the Native American last year at the March for Life in DC”. And I can only see CSPAN on my tablet. But I learned that YouTube was airing the RNC in real time, and I had just figured out how to stream YouTube a few days ago. So I thought I’d try.
I was so gratified to watch all those wonderful speakers! (Although I did find Kimberley
Guilfoyle a little too “excited” for my taste.)
Btw, I emailed and tweeted a response to WTTW, the local NPR channel. I was furious with them.

  2. DeniseVB says:

Have been searching for clips of the speeches, just found Maximo’s to bring over, and here you are!

I know, like when a close group of women’s periods synch 😀

        • Myiq2xu says:

Synching up why the ancients built menstruation huts (to keep women in) and sweat lodges (to keep women out) and invented the “hunting trip” so they could disappear into the woods for a few days.

          • John Denney says:

Garrison Keillor did a “News from Lake Wobegon” schtick about ice fishing.
“Guys build these little huts over a hole they drilled in the ice, and call ’em ice fishing huts, but they’re really little men’s lodges, where they go to get away from women.”

  3. helenk3 says:

Victor Davis Hanson is on a roll. what a great article on California

    • Myiq2xu says:

I cannot imagine California building something like the Golden Gate Bridge today. Instead of something useful and durable, we got the bullet train to nowhere.

      • John Denney says:

And setting a 50 gallon/day limit on water usage, rather than build new reservoirs.

Five people in 12 hour shifts run the Orange County Water District water treatment facility in Fountain Valley that recycles sewage, first filtering it through .2 micron tubes, then reverse osmosis, then ultraviolet light. Then they add calcium and magnesium to it, because pure water corrodes concrete pipe,.They pump the clean treated water uphill through a 3 foot diameter exit pipe 50 miles or so to dump it into a stream in Yorba Linda, because CA law says you can’t put reclaimed water into the municipal water supply pipes.
The biggest of its kind in the world, they treat 100 million gallons every day, and then dump it, perfectly drinkable water, into a stream.

Can they do anything right? What a bunch of lazy bastards (bazy libtards).

      • DeniseVB says:

President Trump knows his base his fighting for him everyday, I think he planned on it for us to lift our spirits. DNC just seemed to want to depress their base even further with all the negativism and Orange Man Bad crap.

  5. DeniseVB says:

Donna is ruining Fox News. Joe Trippi was always my favorite Fox Dem analyst, clear and concise w/o drama and fakey talking points. Guess that doesn’t fit their narrative anymore 😦

    • helenk3 says:

I just came to post that. The 1st night must of been better than we thought. donna is a tad upset about it

    • swanspirit says:

She just accused Tammy of being a racist, without using the actual word. She is just shouting her down, without presenting any alternative ideas, or acknowledging the impact of the RNC .
It’s what used to be called ” may mauing” . Verbally intimidating someone with the intent to silence them, rather than actually engage in dialogue. Or in Brazilebeast terms, throwing your weight around. She likes to do that, whenever someone might be getting a real point across.
I do not have words for that purulent pus filled sac of abcess, that is Donna Brazile.

    • Anthony says:

What an obnoxious fucking cow. Anybody have a tranquilizer dart?

      • DeniseVB says:

I guess Fox has chosen it’s new “woke” narrative. Marie Barf and Jessica “Squeaky Fromme” Tarlov are the other two. I’m sure there are more, haven’t bothered to watch in months, just what scrolls past my Twitter virginal feed 😛

      • lyn5 says:

Stuff Obama’s dick in the cow’s mouth.

    • Anthony says:

What Dem vulnerability did Tammy mention that pushed her crazy ass around the bend like that?

    I noticed this pattern too.

  10. swanspirit says:

I am bringing this up from downstairs. It was in response to your post about what to do about wokism. It resonated with me, because so many people fall for these whackadoodle ideas, without ever having facts about them.

That was an interesting thread. It speaks directly to what can be done about the ignorance and stupidity that is wokism. One thing that wasn’t mentioned, was the now popular local email.list, Nextdoor.
Recently, in my local list, someone who was in charge of security at a large condo.complex in Ocean City, but who lives in Ocean Pines, suggested that the Ocean Pines.police force, be replaced with unarmed security guards, because ” police carrying guns is too dangerous, and someone could get shot. “, and it would be less expensive.
He was email shouted down, by a large number of people on the list who debunked his ideas, and just altogether rejected his idea outright. I was one of the people who absolutely rejected his idea.
But what was alarming to me, was how many people almost went for it, because it sounded good IN THEORY, until people brought out the facts.
One of the suggestions as to why his idea would be successful, was that the “county police” could handle the dangerous situations .
I was shocked, as to how uninformed local people are. THERE IS NO COUNTY POLICE! There is just the Sheriff’s office, the County Sheriff, and some deputies, and the State Police, which has two barracks in our county. Each individual local government has their own police department. The Ocean Pines Police, the Berlin Police, the Snow Hill Police, etc etc.
This guy was sent home with his tail between his legs, with his idea. No one came out and called it wokism, but that is what it was.
Thank goodness there were enough people on that list with actual facts, and the good sense to reject him, and his woke idea.

    • votermom says:

this thread – yes, it is inter

I’ve avoided NextDoor because I’ve heard it’s overrun with Karens
the truth is I am conflict-averse and cowardly
maybe I’ll join, just to back up braver voices

      • swanspirit says:

It can be fun! I started a plant exchange group, ( no politics) and a whole bunch of us are trading and giving away plants and cuttings, and gardening tips.

It’s a great place for local info, as in which store had toilet paper when that was important, and recommendations, too.

      • DeniseVB says:

That’s my strategy on Twitter, it’s worked for 11 years and helps the blood pressure. I find the normals on troll heavy replies (like the Trumps), block the vile ones and give the supporters some atta boys and retweets. 😀

    • DeniseVB says:

Did you see the Shaun King tweet downstairs? Gloves are off, abolish the police or we’ll keep burning down your cities?

Our neighborhood hires a private unarmed uniformed security service in the summers to keep the non-residents away from our beach and boat ramps…and our backyards. We are given their number and told to report to them anything “unusual” that doesn’t require a 911 call. They check it out. If the “suspect” doesn’t leave or exhibits bizarre behavior, THEY call the police. It eliminates the nuisance “Karen” calls to 911 😉 We’re basically protected by Paul Blart, Mall Cop. Our backup is the M-1 carbine in our umbrella stand 😛

As much as I love neighborhood gossip and news, I had to unsubscribe to NextDoor (which included 45 neighborhoods in my zone). People were getting censored for posting local political (both parties) information to townhalls and rallies. NO POLITICS ALLOWED! Yet, allowing Black Lives Matter sh*t ? Next Door is based in San Francisco, so I didn’t even try to go ragey on them. They know who I am and where I live and I’m not a fan of molotov cocktails being thrown through my living room window. 😉

      • swanspirit says:

We have a fully armed police force here, and a fire department, and they are both very good. I am grateful for their presence, and for the fact that we are listed as one of the safest communities in the country. If it’s not broken, don’t fix it.
I haven’t seen any BLM posts on our list, but I would respond if I did.
I haven’t seen any actual gossip, but some are very opinionated!

      • swanspirit says:

This is what it’s coming down to. We shouldn’t have to be afraid, in our own neighborhood. No one should. Inner city, or suburbs. Damned Democrats

Who does that. His parents died when he was 15. He got thrown into foster care. No family. He joined the army at 18 cause he had nothing and needed connection. I am all about family. For crying out loud I stick with my mother who before her crush on Richard Grenell hated the homos. I need my peeps. I have never been alone. My brothers are my besties. This guy is stunning. He is not average. He is stone cold military grade sensational. What? Dude is flying in to hold my hand. I said I get scared when I touch. I live with it. Touch is not my thing. It sears. A guy flying from Africa who wants to have coffee and hold my hand. Can life get any wierder?

I know I’m not alone, but sometimes it feels like it… These clips of the current crop of Nazis or fascists remind me of the “prettied up” scene in Cabaret in the Biergarten except there, the feeling was ominous. Here it is downright violent and threatening.

        • taw46 says:

I always thought that was a chilling scene, knowing what was to come. And reading the books, watching the movies about that time, wondered how so many people could go along with it. And yet, here we are, not as bad of course. But certainly on that path and again I wonder, why are you going along with it, don’t you see it?

  22. helenk3 says:

just wondering, do blm and antifa have a clue that they are a racist wet dream. They are proving every racist right. do let them move into your neighborhood they will destroy it. Don’t hire them they are not worth the headaches they bring, are lazy and expect to get paid for their color not their work standards. make heroes out of thugs and teach their kids to admire them. They do not want to earn, just steal from you what you earned.

Well, mostly always. But on Sunday you guys really lost it.

Somebody tweeted a “before and after” of the Rose Garden renovation at the White House. A photo of the old garden in spring, glorious with colorful tulips, and a shot of the freshly planted garden unveiled, in green and white and pastel.

  41. SHV says:

“The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF) reported that there have been nearly five million first time gun buyers thus far in 2020.

On August 24, 2020, NSSF contrasted the number of National Instant Criminal Background Check System (NICS) checks from January 1, 2020, through July, 2020, with the number of checks from January 1, 2019, through July 2019. After adjusting for checks that were tied to concealed carry permits or other ends, other than sales, they ascertained that the number of checks for sales was 12.1 million.

NSSF then surveyed retailers and found that “40 percent of sales were conducted to purchasers who have never previously owned a firearm.”
Doesn’t include “private” sales or sales in State where no background check needed if buyer has a valid CCW permit. I went to local Academy Sports store a few days ago and walked by the firearms area…two .22 target pistols were only guns left in otherwise empty large display case.

I met Jeanette or maybe Jeanine on the street. She had a sexy grey pitbull. I had frozen food. We chatted. She just moved 6 houses up the street. She is raising her great grand daughter. She was smart. I would guess professor. She had that way with words. Sort of a defiance. We talked about the heat and air fryers. She did not have one. I was like I live on salads with Perdue frozen chicken strips. Air fryer does not heat up the house.
She does not drive. I adored her. We talked for an hour. Light skinned moved here from California. It was just nice to rap. I walk by her house daily.
She put up a Black Lives Matter sign. That also reads diversity is our strength.
I wonder if she would speak to me in my FAGA hat? We got off with a bang. I didn’t know she had moved a few houses away. She was with this beautiful canine. That is why we spoke. I said hey buddy from several feet away. He came a running to me. The odds are slim to none that we would both be word people that raise other peoples children, do not drive. Evil suburbs after NY and California. We should be friends! Can it happen if BLM and FAGA collide. I honestly like her. It was unique just talking about frozen food as I played with her champ of a dog. I chat with neighbors. Most bore the shit out of me. They suck. Just dull people who obsess over yards. I hate my yard. Hate every blade of grass. I think my very next door neighbor is insane. He goes kayaking alone. He hates his grass. We only mow when the other does.
It is almost fun. I look at him and say fuck you cut now I gotta do it too. We mock each other. He is a dog person. Must Love Dogs is snot just a craigs list hook up. Loving my cruds means a bit. My bad girl is heart and soul. Bell bell is so bad. I laugh so hard. She cannot take thunder. My door is wrecked when she has to sleep ON me.

      Dave Wasserman @Redistrict

And by “confront,” I don’t mean Biden denouncing rioting, which he’s done repeatedly.

I mean running actual ads directly confronting Trump’s “defund the police” attacks, which Dems tend to roll their eyes at but are potentially effective w/ certain low-info voters Trump needs.

      Cliston Brown @ClistonBrown

Republicans have repeatedly won elections by convincing voters that Democrats won’t keep us safe. There is already a deeply ingrained psychological narrative on this topic. I remember hearing even some Democrats saying how glad they were to have the GOP in charge after 9/11.

In short, anytime there is rioting, terrorism or civil unrest, it benefits Republicans because voters have been convinced, with constant and repeated reinforcement, that Democrats are “soft” and that Republicans will act harshly and decisively to preserve or restore order.

Unless Democrats figure out how to counter this narrative, it will continue to work against them.

      Chance Risker @ChanceRisker

Well defunding/abolishing the police in their cities is a great indicator that the narrative is correct.
