Let’s Talk About Hunter … and the Socialist Media

Daily Mail has the scoop on the second batch of emails. Not only was Hunter a conduit in pay-to-play for Ukraine, he’s also in play for pay with China.

I’m not sure if we are allowed to talk about these stories breaking in major newspapers – I know Twitter and Facebook is trying hard to censor it. Ace calls it “turnkey fascism” in an excellent post yesterday (do NOT comment on that ace post – it’s not current and the site auto-bans old comments).

Anyway, nice juicy scandal with so many tentacles – let’s discuss!

Open thread.

My personal theory about the laptops is that an employee of Hunter’s dropped them off for him, then the employee later quit or got fired (coz with Hunter as boss, you know that turnover has to be high) and the laptops were forgotten in the transition.

vm, thanks for putting up a new post. The last one was so full, I could only access it on my desktop. And I don’t like being inside, lol. I like taking my iphone and ipad outside in the beautiful Keys.

    • votermom says:

same here – my tablet kept hanging on it

    • elliesmom says:

Just on the side of a “bit chilly” here for sitting outside on the deck today. I walked the pups with just a light sweater, but they keep me moving. Maybe when the sun moves to the front porch this afternoon, the southern exposure will make it warm enough. i’m not ready to give up sitting outside just yet. Maybe I need to start knitting or crocheting a blanket so I can sit under it while I work on it.

      • taw46 says:

We did have a “cold front” move through which dropped us from 102 to 90, lol. And it isn’t as humid. We are lucky that we have a sitting area underneath the house, so I can stay out of the sun. It has been a brutal, humid summer (as usual). I hope the nice weather is here to stay for us.

        • John Denney says:

House on stilts? Got palmetto bugs (giant cockroaches) down there? Metal shields on the stilts to keep them out of the house? 😉

          • taw46 says:

Yes, house on stilts. Yes to palmetto bugs and roaches, outside not too often inside (bug spray!). And iguanas. We are on a canal, but rarely see mice/rats (we have a cat, neighbor has two 😀). Maybe saw a snake once. Occasional land crab. Termites bad here. Tropical living! 🐠 🌴 😎

          • John Denney says:

Brings back fond memories of my USCG time stationed at Eglin AFB, living off base in a trailer house about 50 yards from the intracoastal waterway, maybe 1/4 mile east of the Navarre bridge.

I saw this, Cruz was mad. But big fucking deal. The hearing will be next Friday. Another week for Twitter to continue censoring the press and the conservatives.

    • lateblum says:

I saw it as well. And then Josh Hawley (R-MO) Was even more specific. I am so grateful to YouTube (the app on my tv) for streaming C-SPAN coverage of the hearings. Even as Cruz and Hawley were speaking, I was yelling and saying “Don’t forget all the individuals whose accounts are no blocked, banned, etc for trying to show the links to the articles from yesterday and today.”
The tyranny has only just begun.Whoever was behind BHO must be grinning from under his rock.

Twitter suspended Kayleigh’s personal Twitter, I believe her official press secretary account is still active.

This morning the Trump campaign released an ad based on the NY Post story. Twitter immediately suspended the Trump campaign account. It was down for a couple of hours, but is back up now and reposted the ad, which you can view

In an effort to get around Twitter, the house republican judiciary committee posted the stories on their website and directed people there via Twitter. Twitter put up a warning on the link.

The President himself tweeted out the ad that caused his campaign account to be suspended. His account was not suspended, but the ad was blocked from view.

Unbelievable stuff when you think about it. It’s a given big tech was going to put their thumb on the scale via algorithms, shadow banning and throttling, but their latest moves are quite brazen. I don’t have much faith anything will come of their jump the shark moment, but I can hope for repercussions.

The guy who accused me of being a fascist called me ignorant for not know what a fascist was when I told him that I stood for Liberty & property Rights.
So I quoted him the Merriam-Webster definition, and gave the link.
He disparaged the definition, saying it was wrong, and that I should learn some history about Franco, Mussolini, Hitler, & others.
Yeah, right. I’m that if such study affirmed my position, he’d say I read the wrong history.

BTW, I wonder if Merriam-Webster will flag “fascist” as “offensive” the way they did, “preference” in “sexual preference”.

Fascism derives from fasces, a bundle of sticks bound together for strength, conveying the idea that there’s strength in numbers and unity.

Fun fact: the Mercury dime has a fasces on the obverse side.

I deal with a lot of kids.
I have horrid allergies. Ice cold water when i wake up is all that helps. I buy cases and cases. I have tons of stuff on my deck/porch. Its a kitchen. There is an air fryer, microwave, freezer with tons of food. Shay is vegan. I have no idea why there is an endless supply of pizza rolls.
I buy Sam’s club purified water. It is 3.98 for 40 bottles. I need cold. Shay is a pain in the ass. She fills up her sports bottle with my refrigerator water. We fight every day she cannot will not replace. There are cases upon cases of soda. You could live in my pantry/porch for a year. Age, my kinda nephew, thinks its his shack. He eats and hangs out. Anyhow pup had an away game. She left at noon. There are 5 girls just staying all day. I would not care, but they drank all my ice cold water. There are hundreds of cases right next to fridge. Take a bottle put one in. I have an open account for Little Ceasars. Kids can order pizza on me any time. How do u not replace water? Passive aggressive?

I am impressed by some of the moms.
Shay had two drinks. She was outsIde before thiings got ugly. My brat screwed up. A few bitter moms tried to pounce. Pretty smart athletic girl stumbled they let out the hate. Kate and a few others pulled up SUVs and sat in front of my house.
Tammy has gone bitch mode. Expresses on facebook my little brat deserves pain. Well well welll. Tammy had a husband that tried suicide. She spent every Tuesday and Thursday in my house. I took her reject to ballet and fed her child when she had nothing. I walked her child to school as dad was crying suicide for years.
I am not simple. I am not unrespected. Seriously I had an evening holding my brat in ER. The ladies showed up in front of my house they were with me and me brat. MAGA sung like Ricky Rebel.

    • elliesmom says:

When you’re a smart, level-headed kid, other kids’ parents put their trust in you. If their daughter or son is going with you, it must be a safe, OK place to go. If you mess up, and things go wrong, you’ve not only upset your own parent, you’ve lost the trust of the other parents, too. Is it fair? No. You aren’t responsible for living up to expectations they don’t have for their own kid. But it is reality. Life is filled with people who expect someone else will always be the designated driver. When you prove you aren’t perfect, the burden of being responsible for other people gets lifted, but you’ve also given up some of the trust you had.

One of the classes I had to take to move from teaching high school to middle school was the psychology of the young adolescent. The first night of class the prof had each of us “find ourselves” in the descriptions of the kids we would be studying. We were expected to share with a great deal of honesty what it had felt like to be that kid in junior high and high school. It was like 12 weeks of therapy with all the kids you went to high school with. One of the nights that was the most fun was the night we had class in a local bar. While I had complained about how unfair it is that life has made me the perpetual designated driver, no matter how hard I tried I couldn’t bring myself to drink more than one glass of wine although several people, including the prof, said they’d get me safely home. I learned that night that it wasn’t the world that made me designated driver. I have done it to myself. Shay has a decision to make, and only she can make it. She can use this “fall from grace” to lose the burden of constant responsibility, or if she finds it difficult to not be the one everyone relies on, to work to get the trust back, and not just from you.
