James Bond R.I.P.

Sean Connery has passed away. He was 90 years old and died in his sleep. No mention in the articles I’ve seen about how many hot babes were in bed with him.

He performed many great roles, but none greater than Agent 007. He was the first and the best. When I think of James Bond I think of Sean Connery.

He won an Oscar for his role in The Untouchables.

About Dr. Myiq2xu

Unless President Donald J. Trump pulls a hat out of a rabbit real soon, on 1/21/21 I will wake up in a socialist banana republic.

LOL, LOL. Trump is at a rally in Reading, PA. He just played the Halloween ad, where Joe turns into Kamala.

Big important truth here, finally said out loud. White liberals make a show of supporting African Americans because it makes them feel good about themselves. But let the AA community stray off the liberal plantation and wow — the hostility. I was nice to you! You owe me! You owe us! All the strings attached.

I only got two kids who were sent by there parents to tell me there is a street party going on and I should come down for a beer! Great fun, they blocked off the street and all the adults are hanging and the kids are playing.

    • 1539days says:

Zero, like always. I’m 1/4 mile from the nearest house.

    • elliesmom says:

As requested by my neighbors, I didn’t turn on my lights. I heard a few groups go by. They were laughing and seemed to be having fun, but they had come to a “Trick or Treatless” neighborhood. Our neighborhood kids were at a big parking lot party at a local church that we all contributed money to for snacks and other party fare. And to help pay the fine if the police shut it down. I don’t know how that went, but I’m sure I’ll hear.

      • elliesmom says:

I bumped into some of my little beach buddies when I walked Ellie. They loved the party at the church last night. Great haunted house, and a labyrinth you had to go through to get your candy. “It wasn’t a maze because even if you were a little kid, you couldn’t get lost in it.” The consensus is both ways of celebrating Halloween are “wicked fun”. I suggested a thank you note to the church might be nice. They were off to find out if the church has an email address. While I might have suggested a hand-written note with a stamp, it is the 21st century, I guess. Anyway, any guilt I felt about buying my way out of doing trick or treating was assuaged. Whatever they decide next year is fine with me.

    American hostage rescued!!

They were all dead before they knew what happened,” another counterterrorism source with knowledge told ABC News.

President Donald Trump called the rescue mission a “big win for our very elite U.S. Special Forces” in a tweet and the Pentagon lauded the rescue mission in a statement.

    • helenk3 says:

how many hostages is this now that Trump has freed? how many did backtrack free?
big difference between the two. If for any reason I had to go to a dangerous country, I sure as hell would want Trump as president. I would have a better chance of being freed with him as president

RIP Sean Connery. An immense presence in all his films. My first movie ever was You Only Live Twice in a Tokyo cinema. The James Bond he played was Victor Rothschild, who for the record was Bourbon Catholic not Ashkenazi Jewish … as ever the SIS was/is disguised.

  28. jeffhas says:

Love him in Untouchables!!…. he became a better (character) actor after just stardom as Bond…. and have aging actors a template for stardom after your young swarthy looks are gone. (I’m looking at you Liam Neeson).

He really did deserve an Oscar for Untouchables.

Will miss him much! – not like so many celebrities I’d like to forget, alive or dead.

    • jeffhas says:

PS: like anyone cares, but…. I actually do like Daniel Craig quite a bit as a grittier Bond. The remake of Casino Royale is my favorite, pushed over the top because of the amazing Eva Greene…. but Skyfall is the better made movie – two really solid Bond movies for Craig – the other two were worthless.

…. cannot argue with Connery being ‘the best and only’

This time around they have been joined by the New York Post and i got a push notice the other day from the Washington Times announcing their endorsement. Both poking sticks at their so called elite rivals the NYtimid and the WPoo . the post gazette is a interesting addition . I’m getting my grocery delivery order together, and I need to think about my solo celebration for the election. Elliesdad and I would normally head down to the local pub to await the election results, but since moving to RI, we lost our election night watering hole. Nothing around me here is open late enough to even catch the west coast returns. Before we moved, there were several places a short walk from home so staying sober enough to drive wasn’t even a requirement. Anyway, I have a bottle of prosecco chilling on the “wine cellar” shelf in my garage. My bones tell me I’m going to want to pop its cork. The question is, “What day and time will that be?” If it’s after the polls close on the west coast, I need some nice cheese and some fancy crackers or bread. If it’s the next morning, I need some fresh peaches to make bellinis and the stufff for a quiche. I’m going to be surprised if this goes beyond Wednesday.
I don’t want to jinx things, but Obama and an aging rock star can’t fill a 7-11 parking lot for Biden. Harris faces a sea of Trump flags when she tries to speak. The real reason Biden doesn’t announce his “rallies” ahead of time is when his staff does, more Trump supporters show up than Biden supporters. There are more Democrats wearing MAGA hats and dancing to YMCA at Trump rallies than there are at Biden rallies. The Biden campaign bus gets followed around by a Trump hearse picking up the dead voters to take them to the polls to vote. Finally, today the pollsters are starting to cover their asses and report “Biden’s lead is fading”. No shit, Sherlock.

I will have to drink alone, lol. KW has TDS bigtime, although the county went for him in 2016. My sister and her husband attended the Dem party for the “Hillary celebration”, and when they came home, she shunned me for a week. (I didn’t gloat, I don’t do that with my sister. Although she probably would if the tables were turned. Maybe.) Anyhow, I am expecting the same scenario to play out Tuesday night. Me drinking alone and being shunned for a week, maybe 2 this time. Hahaha.

My mentor when I was in high school was the school librarian. She taught me a poem by Edwin Markham.

He drew a circle that shut me out
Heretic, rebel, a thing to flout.
But love and I had the wit to win.
We drew a circle and took him in.

I’ve spent a lot of time drawing circles around my TDS infected friends. I expect them to have a rough time when the election is over. Obviously, they’ll be devastated if Trump wins, but if Biden wins, they’re in for some serious disillusionment. They are convinced the country will come back together, and we’ll all sing Kumbaya under a Biden administration. Why they believe a Biden win would mean Trump supporters would just get behind what the left wants to do is beyond me. But I’ll keep drawing circles as long as I can.

If what happened last time is any indication, I can only imagine how much worse it’ll be this time. My dil was still IN TEARS on the Wed. morning following the election. She wouldn’t speak to anyone except the children. They do not permit my grandgirls to say “President Trump” unless it is within a sentence that wishes he were dead!
Last week when my dear g-dtr#1 said she wished him dead, I asked her why she would say that and she said “because mommy says he is a very bad man”. So, we had a little conversation about the wrongness or wishing someone dead just because you disagree with them or you don’t like them. Good times.
Fortunately this year, my days with the girls are Tuesdays and Thursdays. So I’ll miss the fun on the morning after.

After the Girl Scouts caved on the celebration of the women on the Supreme Court, I got a few emails from some of my now all grown-up Scouts. My lifetime membership was a gift from a group of them when I hit 35 years as a member. I’m past 50 and stopped counting at this point. They wanted me to know they’d understand if I cancelled it. I assured them I wasn’t going to, but I did let the Girl Scouts know how I feel about what they did. I’m in that place where I’m tired of the antics of the people and groups I know and love who are from the left, but I’m not willing to surrender.

The saddest thing about this ad is that Gaga did not HAVE to do it, especially mocking a voting demographic poorly.

    • lyn5 says:

It’s a big fail when she had to identify herself.

      • jeffhas says:

Does she actually have talent – or only when she is in a ‘production’ – cause that is some low rent amateur stuff.

        • Anthony says:

In fact, she had classical training before morphing into pop. I think her classical voice is pretty good. What do you think?

          • Mt.Laurel says:

I admit i was surprised when i first heard her sing without all the silliness. I thought she really should do that type of performance more often as it showcases her talent much better than pop . It could also help broaden her bade and serve her well as she ages. But yes, she has to work at it so her voice becomes familiar to the listeners ear not just pleasant.

          • DeniseVB says:

A favorite surprise from her, that’s not an easy song to pull off. Her Star is Born role was another surprise, especially that Gaga the Feminist’s Dad was played by Andrew Dice Clay 😉

          • jeffhas says:

I have always felt she had an excellent voice – far better then most in the specific lane she plays in – even though she maybe allowed herself to get lost in the hype that is Pop! – but even then, she was well produced at a very high level.

The shocking thing about the video above is how ‘amateur hour’ it all looks. The setting is amateur, her ‘acting’ is terrible (amateur again), and even her wannabe redneck outfit is wrong. For me, it’s a huge miss that calls into question her ability to choose the right things unless guided by someone else to place her in better produced scenarios -OR- her talent isn’t what it seemed. Maybe I misjudged her instincts – Super Bowl made me think she knew how to play to any audience.

Barbara, Cher, Madonna, (or Beyoncé, Taylor) would never do this, their instincts about who they are are spot on – they might choose a project that falls flat, but not because they participated in something that was produced at such an amateur level. They have high expectations of everything they put out:

          • Anthony says:

Well, she banged Hunter in a 3 way with Miley, so there may have been some blackmail incentive..

      • elliesmom says:

I can usually recognize her voice when she starts to sing, but I’m pretty sure I couldn’t pick her out of a line-up.

        • lateblum says:

Hah! I’m just the opposite. But I was shocked when I heard her at the Oscars and when she sang with Tony Bennett. I think her voice is amazing. But I still wouldn’t be able to know who was the vocalist if I weren’t looking at her face.

Went to dinner the other night with the same friend I mentioned the other day. En route, my daughter said she was tempted to get a Biden/Harris sign to put on the house (she has recently moved home). My friend laughed. But then I told my daughter, at least put up an accurate sign that reads Harris/Biden, truth in advertising you know. My friend was completely confused by the statement and seemingly had no idea what I was talking about. I love her, she is one smart lady, has had some real family struggles for a long time, but she just isn’t very well informed and apparently doesn’t question anything.

    • elliesmom says:

I have some friends who are Biden voters because they want Kamala Harris to be president. I can’t find fault with that plan because when I voted John McCain it was in hopes he’d keel over, and Sarah Palin would become POTUS.

I woke up to a shock this morning. My ex brother-in-law Kenny didn’t make it, he passed away last night. He started his chemo two weeks ago. I’m in profound grief for my two nephews, they’ve lost both of their parents in six weeks. This is unfreakingbelievable. I keep thinking about what a great time all of us had two summers ago at the oldest nephew’s wedding. That’s the visual I’m keeping in my mind of how we all looked, happy and healthy. I was so happy to see Kenny again, and finally meet his 19 yr old daughter that he had after they broke up. And now both are gone in a snap. BOTH of them needed to go to the doc by last spring, at the latest FFS, but didn’t once the Covid crap and shut down happened. Both were forced to go by ambulance months later instead when it was much too late.

I’m doing OK, Going to be in a very sober mood today. Haven’t had a drink in a couple of weeks since my sister’s memorial on the 10th with all the old photographs, so I may get good and shitfaced drunk. A sober drunk. Soberly shitfaced.

Last week, I was almost late with my car insurance payment. I checked a letter in the pile and it turns out it was due the next day, so I had to pay by credit card. They usually send a big envelope with all the paperwork and that’s why I didn’t think about it. I guess they cheaped out and stopped sending it.

Nope. I get the big packet this weekend. It was postmarked 9/25, about a month before the due date. But there’s another giant stamp on the side from Michigan. Neither the to or from is that state, dated 2 days after the payment was due. It was in the “mail” for over a month!
