Pre-Election Poetry Break

How I feel about tomorrow:

Turning and turning in the widening gyre
The falcon cannot hear the falconer;
Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;
Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,
The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere
The ceremony of innocence is drowned;
The best lack all conviction, while the worst
Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;
Surely the Second Coming is at hand.
The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out
When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi
Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert
A shape with lion body and the head of a man,
A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,
Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it
Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.
The darkness drops again; but now I know
That twenty centuries of stony sleep
Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,
And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,
Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?

Have a nice day!

Those women are controlled by some Leftist. Not sure who but the “little brown woman” is a thing among Democrats. You can add Primilla Jayapal into that group. She is a Leftist party apparatchik sent to WA to take over Jim McDermotts seat when he retired and she had a ton of party money behind her. She doesn’t even pretend to represent my district she just spews the party line.

She just desperately wants to be part of the woke crowd. I ran into a woman at Rite aid today, our kids went to school together. She is a country club Dem. I said “Lisa, Hi!” She wouldn’t even look at me and turned her head I kept moving into her field of vision and she had to keep shifting to ignore me. So pathetic. I’m sure it’s my pro Trump discussions on Nextdoor. She needs to belong so much that she can’t even acknowledge a Trump voter acquaintance.

So, Trump did the right thing, didn’t “try” to do the right thing or talk about doing the right thing. So, the problem is that he took credit for doing the right thing? How awful, especially when the media never gives him credit for doing the right thing, and mostly says the right thing was the wrong thing.

I ❤ Love It Or List It. She does amazing work. If I were having my house done, and could choose someone to do it, it would be Hilary Farr. She adapts to any style.

      • Anthony says:

She’s great, and the show is too

      • Somebody says:

Oh my goodness, wouldn’t it be great to have her redo your house? She does good work, but it’s not all her it’s her crew too. I wish they would branch the show out and I know they will they’ve actually had seasons in multiple metro areas, but they’ve been in NC for a while. I think they need to come to Florida😉 Especially since NC is closed and they need new episodes, FL is open.

    • 1539days says:

You may want to skip “Love it or List it, Too” with the other set of hosts.

    • lateblum says:

I LOVE that show! I used to find them annoying and then I found out I really liked them in the end. It’s one of the few programs on cable tv that I miss.

It was windy as hell here today as well, but it was 34 degrees. I not only needed long pants. I needed socks, gloves, and a winter coat.

      • taw46 says:

      • taw46 says:

Haha. No flip flops, no pedicure. I hear you! I would be bundled up with the 50 degree weather. Believe it or not, there are times it gets cold down here and I have to wear long pants, socks, and sweater. A nice change for us when it happens.

        • Somebody says:

It is 61 degrees right now🙄 Hubby just turned on the heater. They changed the forecast our low is now going to be 45🥶

That’s not normal for November, January yes, but not November. High tomorrow is 69, then low of 51, then back to normal. I’ll probably have to put on socks tomorrow😏 Most likely I’ll stay inside and wait for the “thaw” and return to normal🤣 We voted last week, so I have no need to go anywhere.

A system designed to incentivize populations from packing urban centers and keeping resources spread out, which is good for a nation. The fact that grown ass adults are calling a system designed to keep three states from controlling the electoral process racist, is telling.

          Constantine or Bust @OrConstantine

I’ve never read a nation go full potato so quickly as the US has in any of the history books. Idiots attributing everything to racism and then putting on furry outfits and drinking White Claw thinking they’ve contributed to a society.

          You’re complete servile idiots.

    • Somebody says:

The end of the electoral college will be the end of America. It’s part of the fabric and founding of our nation. Without it we wouldn’t be one nation we’d be a collection of nations. Our founders knew we would have urban and rural areas, they took that into consideration. That’s exactly why each state has two senators and why we have the electoral college. We are a REPUBLIC, if we can keep it. We are NOT a democracy.

Without the electoral college a handful of large urban areas decide our fate, the rest of America has no voice. That won’t hold, the nation will not hold together. The urban areas will learn quickly where their food comes from🤣 It might not happen immediately but doing away with the EC would put us on a path to a civil war that would make the previous one pale in comparison.

I’m here just sort of hanging out waiting for somebody to say something that will make me not feel like we’re there on the edge of the cliff looking down wondering if we get to fall or stay where we are both positions being sort of tenuous. I don’t know if I’ve ever wanted anything as much as I want Donald Trump to win tomorrow I’m even saying it out loud scares me like a wish you need to keep secret till it comes true. I’m scared because I know what’s going to happen if he doesn’t and there’s no turning back some holding not following forward not falling back just waiting for someone to say he’s one in the world is going to be okay for another day. This long has seen me through many horrible nights I’m ready for some peaceful ones I don’t know where everybody is but if anyone has anything to say to make looking down into infinity less scary please say it.

      • Somebody says:

OK, well first let’s look at the states Trump won in 2016. Usually with an incumbent whether an R or D their first electoral map is the baseline. It’s usually can the challenger flip one or two of those states, can the incumbent expand on their first electoral map.

We’ve not heard this election framed that way, gosh why is that? Could it be a media mind fuck? We’re back at square one electoral map, half the country up for grabs?

So in keeping with what has been the tradition, let’s look at that map and the states he won. Within that map there are many that will go red again, including Texas btw, which I don’t believe is in question🙄 How about Florida? All indications are he’s got Florida, hell he just had a midnight rally in the heart of the bluest part of the state and tens of thousands attended. Someone who is behind in a state doesn’t go into “enemy” territory, they look to pump up their GOTV numbers in their stronghold or maybe go into purple areas to nip at the edges. Florida will go Trump, but it’s Florida so it most likely won’t be a blowout, Florida is always close.

Moving on, Georgia? I don’t really think it’s turning blue strawman argument like Texas. The D’s expected turnout in metro Atlanta hasn’t materialized. Bubba and his buddies in rural Georgia will crawl over broken glass to vote for DJT and there are TWO senate seats on the ballot.

        To be continued

        • Somebody says:

Moving on, North Carolina. So far polls look good in NC, but recent court rulings and their propensity to cheat in Raleigh Durham is especially concerning. As luck would have it, due to rona they don’t have tens of thousands of college students to bus to the polls. The rallies in NC have been more defensive locations so we’ll watch NC closely for 9 freaking days apparently 🙄

Iowa? All indications are it holds and POTUS takes it by a higher percentage. Ohio? Ditto, Joe’s no fracking, China is our friend and lockdown message doesn’t sell there.

Next AZ, tight, tight, but POTUS has been gaining with Hispanics even Mexican Americans. Hispanics are NOT into the whole lockdown scene Joe proposes. AZ can have funky mail ballot issues, see senator Sinema, so it’s also one to watch. However, looking at rally locations POTUS has gone on offense there in blue areas so clearly they feel confident there. I’m thinking that’s due to the pull in of Hispanics.

That brings us to PA, MI and WI. POTUS won those by razor thin margins, all 3 have quite the history of funny business. According to the campaign they feel very strong about PA. They’ve gone a little on offense there, but maintained defense too. Head fake? Don’t know. Joe has been solely on defense there hitting heavy D areas and not getting crowds so there is that.

Joe wants to do away with steel tariffs, which brought back the steel industry in the Pittsburgh area. The rank and file union there has definitely taken note, they’ll vote their pocketbook and that will help Trump at the margins. Fracking is western PA, Joe’s no fracking despite denials and his elimination of the oil industry within five years does NOT sell there. Western PA most likely will show up in droves to vote their livelihood depends on it.

The question is, will all of that be enough to offset Philly and the wine moms in the suburban ring around Philly? The Trump campaign has gone on offense a little around Philly and nipped at the edges. The mail ballots returned in Philly are not on the pace team Biden had hoped for, can they make them appear? Probably, but will it be enough to offset the policies Joe espouses that are truly horrific for most of the state? People unless blinded by ideology generally vote with their pocketbook. You also have the X factor of the riots and Joe’s policies that will ruin the suburbs. The Trump campaign put out a statement last night expressing strong confidence in PA.

One other thing that is a factor in many of these states is the AA vote. POTUS has delivered justice reform for people with long prison sentences for non-violent crimes. That is real and tangible and impacts the AA community disproportionately. He’s put forth opportunity zones which have had a real impact in some urban areas. On the other hand they know Joe helped write the 1994 crime bill.

Many rappers have come out in the past couple of weeks in support of POTUS. POTUS’s approval rating with AA is the highest of any R POTUS in recent years. Some are crossing over to vote R for the first time in their life. Many are not ready to do that so they’ve decided to sit this one out. They don’t like Joe, but not ready to vote R. Joe needs a high AA turnout and it is not materializing. Obama isn’t getting crowds, those that are showing up to see him are white liberals not the AA community.

The AA vote is a big X factor and something to watch today. Do they show up or do they sit this one out? Watching turnout and where that turnout shows up will tell the story today in every state. The D’s have not gotten the mail ballot returns they had hoped for. Maybe their voters aren’t as scared as they’ve tried to make them and they show up today in big numbers. So far, based on Joe’s campaign appearances there doesn’t seem to be that kind of 2008 enthusiasm, we’ll see as the day unfolds.

          To be continued

          • Somebody says:

So now WI and MI, both razor close, both with a history of shenanigans.

MI, not as impacted by some of Joe’s policies as other states, but still impacted in their manufacturing base. Will Detroit and surrounding areas show up today to pull Joe over the finish line? I don’t know. What I do know is none other than Debbie Dingle sounded the alarm the auto workers are voting Trump no matter what Richard Trumpka or the other union leaders say.

POTUS’s rallies have been mostly defensive there, but so too have Joe’s. That should be advantage incumbent, we’ll see. Lower turnout by the AA community, adding more auto workers to the Trump column, sounds like a threading the needle winning strategy. We’ll watch the turnout and see. Oh and X factor, MI doesn’t want to hear Joe’s lockdown message.

WI, again super tight race. College students not packing Madison may help out here. Trump campaign has made several offensive moves in WI so they must feel fairly confident about it. Joe hasn’t been much of a factor here either. X factor the riots and violence that has rocked two areas of the state. I think it will be close, but both campaigns seem to indicate WI is advantage Trump, albeit probably by a nose. Again it’s the turnout and where it materializes. This is in the hands of the voter, it’s up to us to make sure everyone we know gets to the polls.

            To be continued

        • Somebody says:

Expanding the map, something the media doesn’t talk about.

Where could the map be expanded? NH, POTUS lost NH by 3,000 votes. They no longer have same day registration so people from Massachusetts can’t go jack with their vote. They don’t have campuses full of college students either. Definitely a possibility for expanding the map.

Nevada, again POTUS lost by 24,000 or 27,000 or 40,000 depends on whose count you listen to, point is it was close. The lockdown message Joe has does NOT sell there. Their economy is hurting thanks to their Governor. Because their economy is depressed a lot of those culinary and casino workers are not there to vote, that could be a factor. Hell, even the ones that are still there probably aren’t inclined to vote for lockdown Joe. Mexican Americans trending toward Trump a little will help him at the margins. X factor the Mormon vote. They voted 3rd party in 2016 and there is a good number of them, enough to sway the vote. POTUS has been strong on religious liberty, do they reward him, sit it out or go 3rd party? Harry Reid has strong influence, but I haven’t heard much from Harry this go round. I think he’s in poor health, but he could still be pulling strings behind the scenes.

Obviously cheating is a factor in Nevada, but with so many having left and POTUS nipping the edges, it wouldn’t take much to overwhelm ballot box stuffing and put NV in the win column.

New Mexico, Brad Parscale was hot on flipping NM so the campaign has a lot of data. Early on POTUS did rallies there. NM is tough, but not impossible. Joe’s fracking policies are NOT good for NM. There is strong anti-lockdown sentiment there, so Joe’s lockdown policy isn’t popular. Again that trend toward Trump of Mexican Americans could really help in NM. Will anti-lockdown, pro-fracking, and the Mexican American shift be enough to offset the strong lefty voters that have grown exponentially in NM? I don’t think so, but again turnout today is key.

So maybe you feel better? Maybe you’re off the ledge or at least backed up?

Turnout today is the key. Most of POTUS’s voters are crawl over broken glass naked voters. If they’re all talk and no walk and don’t show up to the polls then it was going to be a loss anyway. I think they’ll show up, because most feel the country is on the line.

Joe doesn’t have that kind of determined voter. He has a TDS contingent that will crawl over broken glass, my bet is their votes are already in and the numbers were not what the D’s hoped for. The rest of the D’s are not as enthusiastic, Joe doesn’t inspire them. The weather is mostly good across the US today so that won’t deter them. Maybe some craze will start today and keep them glued to their phones like what color is the dress or Kim Kardashian is pregnant or something.😉

Usually, the incumbent is in the stronger position. The media has tried to flip that this go round. How many Trump voters do you know that turned against him? How many D’s do you know that are lukewarm to Biden? We’re a very divided nation, so the vote most likely will be close but it looks like POTUS is in the stronger position and has the better hand at the poker table. As the day wears on we’ll begin to get a picture of what reality on the ground is. The media will spin, spin, spin, but there will be ground reports. We’re clear eyed, we’ll figure it out. The main thing is vote, vote, vote. Get everyone you know to the polls this is it.

          • Somebody says:

I forgot another X factor in AZ and NM and a little in NV. The Native American vote. POTUS has been strong with helping them deal with human trafficking of their young girls. Apparently it’s been a big problem and no administration has even acknowledged it, let alone helped. Melania and Ivanka have been strong on this issue and heavily involved, they do love the Trump women and the Trump administration. Do they show up and vote? Don’t know the administration has paid special attention to tribes and covid, but covid has had a harsh impact on their population and I don’t know if they buy the MSM, D narrative that covid is POTUS’s fault.

Also, I forgot MN as a map expanding state. Mostly because it’s probably fool’s gold. Is it possible? Sure anything is possible, but I don’t think so. The polls are supposedly tight, that won’t phase them they have car trunks pre-loaded with ballots. Hell former senator Franken may have found a new job since his resignation, he may be in charge of MN car trunks this election cycle. They can also count on Omar and her Somalian buddies in little Somalia.

Yes the iron range seems to be bullish on POTUS, yes the polls are tight, but MN is full of VERY left leaning voters. These morons defunded their police and cheered about it. The cold up there messes with their brains and erodes their common sense. They do have strong, level headed Nordic descendants, but even there look at the Nordic countries of Europe. Gotta be the cold, if only they found their inner Vikings, but alas I don’t hold out much faith. Even if parts of their state did, the urban areas will overwhelm them I think.

If, if, if MN goes red, Katy bar the door it’s gonna be a blow out for POTUS. If MN goes red🤣🤣 Come on they voted for freaking Mondale🤣🤣🤣 OK, OK, if MN goes red we will likely be surprised by other blue states going red.
