She is very tough. The vitriol i saw thrown at those worker bees and managers who did not cow tow to the fanatical and often drug crazed leadership in much of the DC government was when i first realized just how the DNC tried to keep control over the those who were not chosen to be among their elite. It was my spark for understanding just how deep the hate for independent thought and the average joe were despised . Barkey and vj and moo moo just brought it out into the open and set the tone that such behavior was not only tolerated but encouraged to the max.

    • taw46 says:

This clip is about a minute shorter than the one I saw on Parler. The motorcade takes a right and continues to circle the crowd. Amazing!

    • Woke Lola says:

That is amazing! Does anyone know if any of the lamestream media are televising any of it, or is this being censored too?

      • taw46 says:

        Probably censored.

      • lateblum says:

I just saw a “newsflash” from FOX on my iPad that said the marchers were being attacked by protestors. But they minimized the nature of the attacks. “Throwing eggs” instead of physically attacking the pro-Trump people using chains and full body contact, etc

      • Mt.Laurel says:

Not one push notice other than the washington times that was was anything going on in DC. Not even the routine reminder there might be road closures or metro delays. Nada. Zip. But all if a sudden everyone is really worried about Tropical storms and hurricanes and that Iota is going to hit central America. Now i feel for people any where facing such potentially life threatening forces after all bur ignoring storms all season long. I guess the area in the high risk cone for iota is where they have the next invasion force waiting to stampede the border.

If you need a break, the Netflix limited series “The Queen’s Gambit” is good. I know a lot of folks have dumped Netflix. I probably would, too, but it’s not my account to drop. A friend told me about this series, and she was right, I did like it a lot. It’s the story of an orphan who learns to play chess from the janitor at the orphanage. She becomes a chess prodigy and goes on to play in world championships. It’s set in the 50s and 60s. The costumes and the sets are great. You get to travel with her. All of the angst is there. Pills, booze, bad choices in romance. I don’t think you have to know how to play chess to enjoy it. I can play, but I’m not all that into the game. It’s 7 episodes. I don’t think it will extend longer, but then nobody expected Rocky to have 5 sequels.

I found this channel on xfinity called metv. I am watching rawhide with clint as a good looking young 20s man, Steve McQueen in wanted dead or alive, Big Valley. forgot how good looking thise guys were back then and some aged very well

    • lateblum says:

The good thing is that channel is on over-the-air television here. I’ve been watching it and the ION and ION-plus channels and just started watching Start tv as well.

      • lateblum says:

Sounds as though watching tv is all I do. Not true. But I do watch tv at night. Except for Saturdays when I watch college football. I know… but I love college level sports. And theater And musical performances, too. I think someone was saying that the other day. Maybe Mt Laurel or Constance or someone.

        • Constance says:

I definitely agree. The actors try so hard! They just have a great energy. And in college sports, plays can still go terribly wrong which makes the game more interesting.

    • 1539days says:

MeTV is over the air all over the country. It’s on the digital subchannels. Mine’s on 2.3

    • Mt.Laurel says:

That was a favorite channel i found for mom and the aunties. MeTv ran no election ads that i saw even though they fought and finally got standing in the nielson ratings. Their reruns often do better that the bigger players. It is actually a sub channel and can be found with an over the air antenna. In the DC area the contract to air the channel is held by Fox 5. And yes, those 20 and 30 something guys are so —- well not soy boys. And the ladies hold their own as well. Miss Barbara stanwyck takes no guff from anyone.

  18. Somebody says:

2020 continues to suck. My mom just had a stroke at the facility where she is in the hallway headed for dinner. It appears she broke and dislocated her hip when she hit the floor. She’s been transported to the hospital, my sister is the only one allowed there.

Also just found out some friends of my oldest daughter were hit head on. The husband was pronounced dead at the scene, the wife is in critical condition.

Just got word from my sister, mom has multiple femur fractures they are going to have do surgery.

    2020 really sucks

    • taw46 says:

somebody, I am so sorry to hear this. Hope your mom will be ok. And thoughts for your daughter who has received such terrible news.

    • Woke Lola says:

Oh, damn. That’s a lot. I’m so sorry on all counts. Prayers up.

    • lateblum says:

Oh gosh, Somebody. This has been the year from hell for you. I am so sorry. All I can do is keep you in my prayers and send you virtual {{{hugs}}}. ❤️

    • Angie says:

I’m so sorry to hear this.
I really hope everything goes well with your mom’s surgery & that she gets better soon. ❤

    • Somebody says:

Thanks everybody, this has indeed been a bad year at least a very rotten fall. I can’t say it’s the worst fall as 2006 sucked for us. That was the year our daughter was diagnosed with leukemia two weeks after my aunt died. My mom had a heart attack and surgery in October of 2006.

2020 is a heavy competitor that’s for sure.

    • swanspirit says:

Somebody, I am so very sorry, I hope your mom comes through her surgery and heals rapidly! And am so very sorry for your daughter’s loss. Big hugs.

      • Somebody says:

Update, surgery is just to temporarily set mom’s leg. Major surgery is tomorrow. Her leg is turned sideways from the fall. They are doing a full cardio workup and scans of her brain and neck now.

        • lyn5 says:

Your poor mother. Please protect her, Lord.

        • swanspirit says:

I am glad she is getting good care!❤

        • lateblum says:

Your poor mother! How I hope it all goes smoothly. 💕

          • Somebody says:

Only my sister is allowed to be there due to covid🙄 She says mom is in excruciating pain, but the medical staff says they’ve given her all they can. They said there is a fine line between pain management and overdose.

Sis says they put mom in traction because the bone is close to breaking through the skin🥺 They were worried mom writhing in pain might cause it to come through.

Sis hasn’t said anything about mom’s blood or circulation, but that has to be an issue with a femur that badly broken. She’s at a hospital with a trauma center, I’m sure they’ve seen worse and know what they are doing.

          • lateblum says:

Your poor mom! Oh, how I hope her pain and suffering will ease up soon. It can’t be easy being any of you right now. I so hope everything will improve quickly for all of you.
It’s hard to be the one person who is there just as it is difficult to be the one who is so far away. You are all in my prayers.

        • DeniseVB says:

So sorry to hear this, Somebody. Healing thoughts and comfort to mom ❤ Yeah, 2020 blows chunks. Make sure they Covid test her in the hosp. Some stroke related procedures may be delayed without one. You'd think that's the first test they do when admitted to an ER ? LOL, they gave me a flu shot instead, weird.

    • Mt.Laurel says:

That is a lot even in this sucktastic year. So sorry.

No matter the age, they will generally opt for surgery on hips as to not do so is considered torture . the pain and lack of any mobility are horrendous and very hard on the whole system. Sending warm thoughts and prayers that your mom handles the surgery and the taxing rehab.

      • DeniseVB says:

And the mobs in front of the hotels shining lasers in hotel rooms. And that awful mayor they have, that lets this happen in our NATION’s CAPITAL.

Trump Won “Tens Of Thousands” More New York City Votes In 2020 Than In 2016

President Trump did significantly better in New York City in the 2020 election than he did in 2016, proving that Mayor Bill de Blasio is doing a great job doing everything he can to ruin the trust and loyalty of Democrats in his traditionally liberal city by pandering to far-left mobs and committing to making life as expensive as possible while the city’s economy goes to ruin due to mandatory Covid shutdowns.

Not only did Trump do better in New York City in 2020, he fared better in the South Bronx, which is traditionally a Democratic stronghold, the New York Post noted.

    • elliesmom says:

I suspect we’re going to find an increase in the number of cases of things like bacterial pneumonia as the weather cools and more places require masks. I have a friend who is a nurse and a mask-nazi. She keeps insisting wearing a mask all the time is safe because doctors and nurses do it all the time. She forgets they change their masks frequently and throw the dirty masks in the trash. Wearing the same cloth mask for hours is like sneezing into a handkerchief and tying the dirty handkerchief around your face. “Face diaper” is an apt decription for the cloth masks most people wear. I went out to lunch with a friend last month. We had chosen a place that has outdoor dining, but it rained so we had to wear masks to and from our indoor table. I made myself a couple of masks from my scrap bag.

My friend thought it was overkill when I wore a different mask to leave the restaurant than I wore in. She would have thought it wasteful if she knew I tossed both of them in the trash when I got home. They only cost me 1/2 yd of elastic (about 20 cents) and 20 minutes of my time. But people are spending a lot of money on “designer masks” and wearing them over and over. Saint Anthony of Fauci wrote an article years ago about how the non-mask wearers buried the mask-wearers during the Spanish Flu epidemic. I’m OK with indulging a little hysteria if it makes people feel better in the long run, but when the hysteria causes harm to the non-hysterical, I draw the line.

      • DeniseVB says:

I still want that crocheted mask with the ciggy hanging off the lips. 😀 What a great protest mask, yet respectfully complying with being required to wear one in the hospital’s inpatient rehab GYM. I literally couldn’t breathe.

        • elliesmom says:

I was pretty silent on the mask thing. Having lived with a child undergoing chemo, I was pretty aware of what protection a mask provides and doesn’t provide and who you mask and who you don’t. Don’t pass any rules that make me wear a mask inside my own house or when I’m outside walking, and I won’t argue with you about anywhere else. I’ll just stay home. But then my favorite pattern designer put out a pattern for a tee shirt with a cowl neck you can pull up and wear as mask. Clever idea, right? Then her customers started a conversation about what color tee shirts would hide the snot best so you can’t see it when you pull the cowl back down into place. I’m sorry. I was completely grossed out.

New stats reveal massive NYC exodus amid coronavirus, crime

More than 300,000 New Yorkers have bailed from the Big Apple in the last eight months, new stats show.

City residents filed 295,103 change of address requests from March 1 through Oct. 31, according to data The Post obtained from the US Postal Service under a Freedom of Information Act request.

    • Somebody says:

We have some of the newly transplanted, not sure if all of them will stay but clearly many are. A couple of houses on my street recently sold to transplants. Odd thing that so many of them still have out of state plates on their cars. One house on my street they changed half their tags, so maybe relatives staying with them???

You go to the shopping areas and out of state tags abound. Out of state tags are not unusual here, this is a tourist-snowbird area. However, having lived here a long time you sort of know where to expect to see those tags and the normal numbers of them. What I see currently falls outside the norm.

I think some of these transplants are unaware how conservative our area is, they should have done a little research or maybe it was intentional 🤔

I heard about an altercation at the grocery store. A man with a thick northern accent became distressed that there were maskless people in the store. There is no mask mandate, although there are company policies at many stores. There are no penalties for non-mask compliance codified by Tallahassee. However, a private company that has a policy can ask you to leave, like a no shirt, no shoes policy.

Anyway the man became upset and demanded store employees take action. These were young girls, I spoke to them right afterward. They ignored him at first then told him it is a free country he was welcome to express his displeasure with the maskless but that was outside the scope of their job. This was at the check out.

The man simply got louder and more obnoxious. As a couple of maskless customers were exiting the store the man shouted “We won, you will submit”. The customers laughed and flipped him off. The spineless manager came out of hiding and began to grovel🙄

None of us know for sure if the man was visiting or a snowbird or moved here, but he’s an asshole. He should be mighty careful with his mouth. Although the area has grown by leaps and bounds and is essence a suburb now, we still have a lot of rednecks that won’t tolerate his kind.

      • swanspirit says:

That’s how it is here. I can tell from the license plates in the off season, but also from some of the posts on the neighborhood email list. These people have no idea how red and red neck, this area is. On the neighborhood list, they are entitled, arrogant, and obtuse. And shocked at the number of people who disagree with them.

  53. Somebody says:

Mini rant, once again I’m telling you guys covid has so messed up our medical system. Seriously, Houston we have a problem.

My mom has not had surgery. My mom is still in ER, there are no rooms. Why you asks? Covid patients in every corner? No, only a handful. The hospital is overwhelmed trying to deal with the results of all the medical issues ignored and put off due to covid. Procedures to combat covid have slowed things like imaging and other testing to a crawl.

She’s on schedule for surgery “today”. She’s 1st on the list in fact, but two things. She’d had two rapid tests that were negative, but someone….hospital, surgeon? Someone demands a full lab test that takes hours before they’ll take her to OR. Rapid tests are only 85% accurate, lab tests supposedly 99% accurate.

Once that result comes back she’s first in line for OR. IF, IF, IF a bed becomes available. Otherwise I guess they’ll keep her in ER in traction for God knows how long.

You all think about that. Think about how fubar things are months later from the 1st shut down. Here in Florida we never came close to overwhelming the system except a couple of hospitals in south Florida got close. There was a field hospital down there and space in surrounding areas and throughout the state.

We opened after the 6 weeks, limped along at first, but we opened. This is the aftermath and now they’re talking about doing it again?

I’m telling you this has really messed up our medical systems here and we were never an epicenter, nor did we come close to shortages. My own personal experience I thought was bizarre……took way longer to get to biopsies. Then pathology shows cancer, and it looks like it will take 3 possibly 4 months for me to have surgery for fucking cancer. That’s socialized medicine stats right there and so too is what my mother is going through.

Again, the greater Jacksonville area is not paradise but one thing we are known for is high quality healthcare. We always rank very high, we have a couple of top notch facilities here. We have 3 teaching hospitals. If this is how things are here, I shudder to think how they are in other parts of the country.

OK, apologies rant not so mini🙃

    • Gram Krakka says:

No apology necessary. Rant on. So many of us have had delayed medical care because of the Rona. Especially frustrating when cancer and heart disease diagnosis and treatments are deemed non-essential. I am sorry that you have to wait so long for surgery. When you can’t quickly start treatment or have surgery it adds to the stress and worry inherent with a cancer diagnosis. And your poor suffering mother – what a horrible situation for her. So many people hurting and can’t be comforted by their family and friends.

    • Miranda says:

      That’s terrible! Rant on!

    • swanspirit says:

Absolutely no apologies! I hope both you and your mom have the care you need asap. I have passed small kidney stones at home rather than go to the hospital.

    • Mt.Laurel says:

Rant. That is horrible. As i mentioned, hips are usually taken very seriously. I swear there are a lot of people who are upset covid has not killed off nearly enough people or crashed the health system so they want to force the system to fail.

    • jadzia1971 says:

Everybody here is hair-on-fire hysterical. Currently “we” are blaming the Catholics who demonstrated yesterday to demand that we be allowed to have Mass. (And BTW France is so secular that even in normal times, the churches are at least half empty during Mass, so I don’t know WTF the problem is.)

Meanwhile patients are being flown into my city to be hospitalized here. Which tells me that our hospitals are NOT being overwhelmed. Dollars to donuts says that if any of those patients die (which I hope they don’t), they will be counted as deaths from our region.
