Actually the original Rockwell painting was titled Freedom From Want, I guess that’s what we’re all thankful for too 🙂

    • Mt.Laurel says:

I would like that bucket of chicken for the little condo thanksgiving table. But only if we can get original KFC via a time machine.

    • Mt.Laurel says:

A very happy Thanksgiving to all!

A warm bed, hot shower with shampoo, coffee, sausage & egg sandwich, My Friends, great family & in-laws, a car I can drive thousands of miles for visits – I’m so blessed!

    • foxyladi14 says:

      And Melania! ❤

On #Thanksgiving, we are reminded of the love of family & friends as we reflect upon the many blessings we have received. We are thankful for our service members, first responders & law enforcement for all they do to defend & serve this great Nation. #HappyThanksgiving

  5. There is a long list of things I’m not thankful for, but I am thankful for PDJT and all of you, not necessarily in that order.

I think my doctor screwed up when he put me on a new drug. I’m pretty sure it has estrogen in it. Now my breasts are swollen and tender, one minute I’m raging and the next one I’m weeping, and every pair of pants I own make my butt look big.

  6. Anthony says:

I’m so thankful for this safe and sane haven, and especially for all of you. Cheers to this twisted family! So much more loving and supportive than the one I escaped! 🥂🍻

    • Somebody says:

Love that song! It was featured in the Blues Brothers. Years ago I catered my brother’s first wedding, the bride didn’t put RSVP on the invitations so we had no idea how many guests just that 458 invitations went out🤪

My hubby and some friends helped me prepare a metric butt ton of food, appetizers, a massive cake, etc. My mom, sisters, the bride and several of her relatives would stop by my house and fly around on their broomsticks. We all became slap happy eventually and decided we were on a mission from God and played that song over and over again. We had had it blaring on our stereos in our little caravan delivering the food and setting up.

The unknown guests was a set up btw. Her redneck family came with massive ziplock bags. We’re out throwing rice at the departing bride and groom. My sister suddenly shouts “Heads up the rednecks are stealing the food and the booze!”. OMG, one day I’ll write a comedy about it. It was EPIC! My family is dysfunctional on a good day, but when rednecks are taking the bar and food we work as one well oiled machine, even when outnumbered🤣🤣 Gotta throw some friends in there too, but we kicked those rednecks asses. Not literally a fight, we just beat them. They were taking my good silver😲 That disastrous wedding and marriage is part of our family lore🤣🤣

Thanks for the memory jog and laughs, I needed a good laugh and a fond memory 😄

Happy Thanksgiving! I hope your day is wonderful. I got my pj day! It’s raining so hard here I had to push both dogs out the door to pee. Neither one of them is going to be harrassing me to take a walk. The grocery man brought me fresh sea scallops so I get my non-Turkey treat. Whether you’re celebrating alone, with just a few others, or in a possibly cootie-ridden large assembly of other people who believe being with you is worth the risk, I hope you have a great time. I hope the next few weeks give us all a lot to be thankful for, but if they don’t, we’ll all still have each other. We’ve weathered storms together before, and we’re all stronger for it because of the together part.

  9. Somebody says:

Happy Thanksgiving to all the crawdadders. I too am thankful for this little haven and extended crawdad family.

  10. foxyladi14 says:

Happy Thanksgiving everyone. Have a wonderful day full of family, friends, food and fun.
🦃 I love you all! Hugsabunch all around! ❤

  11. Miranda says:

Happy Thanksgiving! I’m thankful for one set of non-proggie friends 😀 I’m actually very lucky that mr.miranda and my immediate family feel like I do. Also, that if I have a different opinion from my family that none of us are assholes about it.

‘FANCY BOY’ MAKES FANCY FOOD ~ Got my first side dish in the oven. I’ve got a good buzz going on thanks to swilling bourbon during prep, and not one injury from the mandolin slicer.

The original recipe is from Julia Child’s “Mastering the Art of French Cooking”, but this chef is so much easier on the eyes 😍

    • elliesmom says:

The potatoes look wonderful. I have a set of small baking dishes that make preparing things like that easier than making mashed potatoes for one or two. I have a serious-looking madoline, and both of my boys have managed to give themselves nasty cuts with it. I bought each of them their own madolines for Christmas one year, and I included a pair of cut-free gloves with them. I had never cut myself on mine, but when I saw what a difference the gloves made, I bought myself a pair, too. They were only 10 bucks or so. I love them for doing things like shucking clams, too. They’re made from a washable fabric and are more pliable than the leather ones my dad wore as a butcher.

    • Mt.Laurel says:

Now you have reminded me of these luscious potatoes , i will have to put them down for Christmas dinner. I think i first saw her make these in one of those show she did with Jacque . They work well with so many main courses (or solo). I have lovely Corningware round casseroles complete with handles and the original blue flower that work well for such dishes. For now, i am going with a Cornish hen because i have a craving for cranberry sauce and cornbread stuffing. I thought of chops but the hen was in the freezer and should be used. I am also going retro with a shrimp cocktail. Does cocktail sauce count as a vegetable?

      • Anthony says:

Cocktail sauce is always a vegetable. And if you add enough vodka, it can be a smoothie 😋 Cornish hen sounds delicious! Happy Thanksgiving!

  13. elliesmom says:

I get posts from Nikon popping up on my FB timeline. I know not everyone here is on FB so I thought I’d share that Nikon has opened its online classes for free from now through Christmas. You don’t need a Nikon camera to learn a lot from them. 🙂

      Oh my!
I refused to even look at their sad whatever (the descriptions i saw never matched and sounded like a three year old could do better with the contents of their toy box) let alone view pics of the stock pen they supposedly had for the balloons before the poor things are lead off to the deflating plant.

Instead i am watching the original Miracle on 34th Street (colorized and b&w) where they filmed the first part on location at the actual parade. Much better than covid approved PC crap.

    Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
Been staying waaaaay too busy here! Too much to go in to now, but we are doing a lot of babysitting.

We are blessed with wonderful grand-daughters, who are now 4! Where did that time go to?
Our daughter is expecting, and due in April!

My son got his Civil Engineering degree in May, and was offered a job before he graduated!
    Yea!

We’ve had a healthy year, and my gardens were productive, and the flowers beautiful.

Love coming here to read all the comments. You guys are great!

I’ve been calling COVID the Grim Reaper because it shortens the lives of a lot of people who didn’t have long to live in the first place. Since 2.7 million people die every year, my guess is 2020 will be higher, but 2021 will be lower. It’s unfortunate, but the 89 year old people who died in March were probably going to die by next January due to other natural causes.

I don’t see how they get away with this. In the real world if you open a public business you have to offer the same services to all groups. So Twitter is a business running a public space for the general public and they need to offer the same service to all types of people.

That really does cover about 90% of Hallmark Christmas movies.

    • Mt.Laurel says:

My brothers all became addicted to Hallmark when on chemo. They said the happy predictability helped them keep their spirits up and they had something to talk about with the nurses and techs and other patients not to mention their oncologists. I was very good and did not remind them they always teased my mother mercilessly about programs like Murder She Wrote, Matlock and old musicals being on continuous loops or the fact that I always have some Christmas music at the ready and own Deanna Durbin flicks. Instead I planned long distance watch parties. Oddly enough my mother was the one to raise an eyebrow or two – even with Alzheimer’s she realized the plots were a bit . . .thin.

I do feel the storm coming and I’m feeling like buying more “earthquake” supplies, again. I am stunned at how oblivious the Libs around me are. I guess they have a lot of experience with living in denial. But I’m not so sure this is going to be a peaceful end of 2020.

      “Office President Elect”
Since when do we have an office of the president-elect??

      • 1539days says:

Obama started that. At least a few people made fun of it back then.

        • lateblum says:

I remember when he stood at a podium with an emblem on the front that resembled the presidential seal. I also remember the tiny uproar at the time. But I thought that might even have been before the election. I could be wrong about the timing. I’ve been so wrong lately that I’m not certain about anything.
