They started closing all the stores in my little shopping center anywhere from 1 to 3 hours early to fight covid? How does it make sense to abbreviate the hours? Won’t more people shop at the same time with less hours? I guess it saves on labor, but why not wait until after the holidays? Nothing makes sense any more.

Not hiding it any more are they? Where’s all that money his wife “lost” ? DB shouldn’t be near any money to redistribute. He shouldn’t be anywhere near city hall either, but that’s NYC’s problem now.

The Democrats will stop funding this, won’t they? How much will it take away from their Green Energy scams like Solyndra? LOL, I think Space Force is still pretty cool.

I don’t know they may keep it to launch and control more spy satellites to spy on us. They’ll have a super top secret intelligence division that we think is watching out for us, but it will actually be spying on us. Joe will give China the keys too, maybe he’ll put the Chinese in charge of spying on us, they’re really good at that

No Christmas here. Two of my brothers have co workers who tested positive so no one wants to risk. Not the end of the world.

    • elliesmom says:

You have Shay so you won’t be spending the holiday alone. Our governor tried to say no one could have anyone outside the people who live in the residence as guests for Christmas. She was threatened with being tarred and feathered for condemning anyone who lives alone to a solitary holiday. Thus, the “new rule” that you may have one guest. I don’t know at what point people will decide they’ve had enough.

Salty’s on Alki beach in Seattle is offering a Christmas eve/Christmas day 4 course meal on their patios for $79. so I’m going there. You can only have 5 people in your group. Usually they have an enormous buffet with salmon, lamb, prime rib, scallops, shrimp and crab. Of course with tons of delicious bread, salad and potatoes. But I figure since they are giving it a try I’m rounding up a few people and going. They have probably the greatest view in Seattle. Of course it will take me an hour to get there because since our city council spends $100.000. per homeless person our West Seattle Bridge is falling down so it has been closed for a year. So I will have to drive almost to the airport and then all the way back to West Seattle. Still, it’s a delicious dinner and killer view and I don’t have to plan, shop, cook and clean up.

More fun in the neighborhood. So we just chatted with the next door neighbor. Apparently the woman that came to our door the other day only came to our door. She drove her Mercedes like a bat out of hell into the cul-de-sac, checked her phone, looked up at our house and came to the door.

Why did the crazy neighborhood Karen pick us? What database are we in?

Next door neighbor says she had an encounter with the neighbor she accused of being a meth head over garbage. Apparently she’s been going through everybody’s garbage on the street. She has all kinds of stuff in her yard for Christmas, guy next door says the surfboard in one of her trees is his that he put out in the trash.

She told hubby she’s an RN. I don’t know. The whole episode is strange, now even more so. The neighbor she accused of being a meth head is a vet, retired officer. His wife has some kind of defense contractor job, she’s upper management, but smaller company. She flies back and forth to DC mostly, but sometimes other locations. Their son is in the military too. They keep to themselves but are really into physical fitness for supposed meth heads.

I just want to know why she chose us? Why come to our door?

    • elliesmom says:

She could have mental health issues in which case while the reasons for choosing you might make perfect sense to her, they might not make sense to anyone else. If the neighbors she is accusing of being methheads aren’t, they might like to know they’re being slandered. If she keeps coming to your house, you really need to tell the police. She might be harmless, but she also might need some help.

I once thought I was being stalked. This woman kept showing up at local restaurants whenever I did, appeared to be following me in the grocery store, and just seemed to be anywhere I was except on school property. Like most teachers I knew most of the cops in town, and I asked one of them who was a former student to check it out for me. If I was right, I’d like to know who she was and why she was stalking me, and well, if I was being paranoid, I needed to know that, too. It turned out she was “investigating” me because she expected she was going to end up in rehab, and she thought I might make a good foster parent for her kids while she was away. So she was making sure I wasn’t a drinker, that I bought healthy foods at the grocery store, and I didn’t have any unsavory friends. The policeman explained the foster care system to her. That she didn’t get to choose who became a foster parent to her kids, but that she could ask a friend or a relative to take care of her children for her. Since I was neither, she couldn’t ask me without going through the system. Then he told her stalking was against the law, and instead of rehab she could go to jail if she didn’t stop. I never saw her again. Part of me felt guilty for not making sure she was OK. After all, it was a high compliment she was paying me, but the policeman’s advice was to let the sleeping dogs lie. He always took my advice so I took his,

      • Somebody says:

Wow interesting, it was sort of a compliment.

We went out today for a short trip. While we were out we passed a car going the other way with a fully decorated tree wrapped in some kind of mesh tied to the top of the car. The trunk was basically open, but tied down with lawn decorations in it.

I said to hubby, look isn’t that bizarre? Who buys a decorated tree? Look at all the other stuff in the car and trunk, it’s like some jackass just stole a bunch of stuff. I wonder if that tree belongs to one of the businesses downtown?

When we drive into the neighborhood later guess what? That car belongs to the crazy lady on the main drag. She pulled into her driveway all crazy, almost sideways. I’ve noticed the car parked that way before, also angled across the street in what appeared to be an attempt to block the street. I didn’t recognize the car earlier with all the junk hanging off of it. Mercedes are pretty common around here.

Anyway it was parked crazy, all the door standing wide open. Still quite a bit of stuff inside, but the stuff in the trunk was now in the yard. Front door of the house was standing wide open. Tree was still on top of the car. I assume she was getting ready to take it inside.

So I think this lady has some screws loose and apparently likes to take things.

Boston Magazine has many “best of” kinds of contests every year. One year they had a Cheers based one where one of the things people had to vote on was which Boston area city or town could lay claim to “Everybody knows your name”. I taught in the town that won. When I shared the news of the win with my 8th graders, because what 8th grader reads Boston Magazine, the universal response was, “Yes, that’s true, and it sucks!”

So I have noticed a couple of nieces and nephews have made random mentions of things like “well since it’s just mom and the pre school aged kids this year for the holidays we are going to have to simplify the usual plans.” I take that to mean Daddy has been called up for either guard or back to the military. I suspect one Daddy has been away since right before Thanksgiving.

Helter Skelter: Are Democrats try to start a race war with the COVID vaccine?

Harald Schmidt, an expert in ethics and health policy at the University of Pennsylvania, said that it is reasonable to put essential workers ahead of older adults, given their risks, and that they are disproportionately minorities. “Older populations are whiter,” Dr. Schmidt said. “Society is structured in a way that enables them to live longer. Instead of giving additional health benefits to those who already had more of them, we can start to level the playing field a bit.”

Marc Lipsitch, an infectious-disease epidemiologist at Harvard’s T.H. Chan School of Public Health, argued that teachers should not be included as essential workers, if a central goal of the committee is to reduce health inequities.

“Teachers have middle-class salaries, are very often white, and they have college degrees,” he said. “Of course they should be treated better, but they are not among the most mistreated of workers.”

    • lateblum says:

Is the goal to “reduce health inequities” or to reduce the spread of C19?

    • 1539days says:

Ugh, the death of science. The death rate from COVID if you are over 70 is like 5%. Otherwise, it’s like 0.2%. Maybe we should be giving one group a fighting chance against the hospital workers who tell everyone to wear a mask then go to parties and get drunk while not wearing them.

Caroline Biden has got a serious case of the dreaded White Privilege. Racked up over $100,000 on a stolen credit card. No time served.

In the DUI case…. Biden, daughter of James Biden, was busted in Lower Merion Township, Pa., in August 2019 after slamming her car into a tree. Arresting officer Jeffrey Seamans noted Biden, who was driving without a license, “had difficulty focusing on the conversation” as he questioned her.

Biden’s car contained pill bottles for carisoprodol and lorazepam, both of which are controlled substances. A blood test later confirmed those and other drugs were in her system at the time of the crash.
