I’ve got one that says “THIS IS BULLSHIT” (which the bf stole) and another one that says “OBEY” Shepard Fairley-style. And another that says “I’m not a sheep I just want to buy groceries.” Need to find all of these in French so that the neighbors can understand them and my transformation into a cartoon villain can be complete.

Good point. Just goes to prove if fake ballots and voters were involved, there was no down ballot voting at all? That’s very rare since local and state races are very much what gets people to the polls.

What happened to 15 days to flatten the curve?

    • Anthony says:

The curve WAS flattened, but by that point they scared the living fuck out of everyone. The plan is to keep us locked down until the commie bastards Democrats completely ravage the Constitution and remove our rights. They really think we’re going to be obedient little sheep.

      • elliesmom says:

Unfortunately, a lot of people are. While the scenario where a frog will allow himself to be boiled alive if the temperature of the water is raised gradually is a myth and a science fair proposal I had to veto on more than one occasion, the idea that people will allow their freedoms to be taken away if it’s done gradually is not. Add in an element of fear and another of self-righteousness and there will be large swaths of people who will help. While our grade school textbooks paint a picture where the people who started the American Revolution seemed to just flip a switch, that’s not what happened. The Revolution was decades in the making, and not everyone was on board. While there may be a revolution in the making again, there may be several years before it comes to fruition, and many of us might not live to see it happen. I’m not suggesting in the least that it’s cause for surrender. Just that we set our expectations of what tomorrow may bring realistically.

The ones trying to control the population are using Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs. Instead of using a existential threat to put people in fear of their safety and security, the governments are going one level deeper and making people’s believe that their life is in danger from some new, exotic virus. The template is second-hand smoke, which was exaggerated in public places, but took the freedom to smoke out of smokers’ hands. No one is ripping off people’s masks. However, they are shaming them out of wearing decent N95 masks and wearing shit masks that don’t work. Next step, blame the people AROUND them not wearing masks instead of making it possible for people concerned about their health to wear effective PPE.

      • jadzia1971 says:

I am really losing my mind at this point. And frankly, media “scare the public” campaign or not, I’m losing sympathy for my fellow citizens (not seniors, I mean working people and business owners) who are experiencing hardship because they are so fucking stupid that they fell for the government’s “divide and conquer” approach in which every new restriction sparks a whole bunch of everybody blaming everybody else for not being compliant enough–instead of resisting and rebelling against what has become a dictatorship.

I am engaging in small rebellions, but could certainly do more. I’m self-employed, my clients aren’t local, and I can afford the fines–what the fuck do I have to lose? But really this bullshit isn’t going to end until a critical mass of people wake up and realize that they cannot arrest us all and even though we are unarmed (kind of–reports of French disarmament are pretty exaggerated, my neighbor has a freaking arsenal), we are way more numerous than the quislings who run our government and we are way more numerous than their enforcers. Jesus, my town has ONE police officer–a middle-aged lady who seems to have missed her calling as a hall monitor.

        • 1539days says:

The blindly following narratives is the worst part. If you go back to late Feb / early March, all the Democrats were bitching about how the Wuhan flu was just an excuse to be racist against Chinese people, deflect from Trump’s eminent impeachment, grab power. The day after the WHO declared it a pandemic, the Dems jumped on the new narrative, COVID is out of control and Trump is at fault. Of course, by the time it became a pandemic, control was going to be impossible. But since people respond to the illusion of control, that’s what they got.

      • Mothy67 says:

Do you think NY has changed a lot since Rudy? I was thinking about the city I moved to in 1991. It was a defiant place. I can’t see that NY obeying a lockdown. Granted I am much older but Manhattan was about being apart of the city itself. Even the days after 9/11 we went out. We didn’t really know how to talk, but we went and spent money because we had to.
Blizzards were my favorite thing. Everybody drank all day. There was this gorgeous bar off 72nd with a neon martini glass. Amsterdam had people skiing.
Has it changed that much? I passed the half decade, but I just don’t see the place I knew shutting down. Am I to believe the young gays are sitting at home? in Manhatten. The place that has Punk Rock kereoke?
Shay has a beau. His dad is a county social worker and the mom is the administrator for a nursing home that is not reliant upon Medicare. People are not dropping like flies there. She has a doctorate in nursing. He spends all day Sunday here. I honestly think the ltc’s are intentionally killing people. I owe you and Janice Dean a thank you. My Aunt Sara wet the bed. She seemed to have gone full senile. It was a urinary tract infection. The hospital fought my cousin about placing her in a home. It was you and Janice Dean that gave me a red hot alert. I said no. Sarah aka Dunny is doing fine. The old age home they wanted to send her to has had yuuuge outbreaks.
Something changed when that Emmanuel brother was working in the White House.
The local hospital wanted to kill my dad. They were using some algorithm about his life. He was dead to them. My father lived 3 years after that. My pup, Shayla, knew that man. He rode his scooter to coach softball. Some things can’t be measured. Jemma’s family bought all the kids wrist bands. “Do it for Pap”
It is the sweetest thing that I get to know Jemma. My dad had a heart attack. He did not expire as the monstrous hospital predicted.
I watched Wonder and thought about new libs. Would they kill me? There is a scene in Life is Beautiful. Women enjoying a fancy lunch agree with Hitler killing the broken. I think that creepy angry Emmanuel brother is no better. I will be 54 on the 25th. I would have been extinguished in his world. I am asshole. I gots me some bad. Ticker is teflon. I also spended a day or two in the hospital. Eggy, my Sweet Lord. I would take a bullet to my head. Eggy!!! He was/maybe is mongoloid if that is still a thing. I would stand with Eggy. Always. He was my kind. I won’t listen to ugly DC perverts. Eggy was/is on my watch. Spend two minutes listening to that Emmanuel brother. It is mendler scary. He would eliminate any sick kid.

  8. jadzia1971 says:

Ha ha, not so much. I am significantly fatter and more depressed after nearly a year of this lockdown bullshit. McDonald’s is open but the gym isn’t–for our health! My 50th birthday is next week and all i wanted to do was to go to a restaurant for the first time in months, they were supposed to reopen about a week after The Big Day and I was willing to wait–but nooooo. Now the restaurant shutdown is indefinite. Am guessing gyms and everything sports (like the dance class that kept me sane) will be the next announcement because they are supposed to reopen on the 20th too. SADFACE.

    • elliesmom says:

Play “pretend” rrestaurant. Get the kids to plan and execute a special dinner for you and a special guest. Go along with whatever they plan. Remind them the “help” makes itself scarce during the meal, and that cleaning up is one of the most important jobs in a restaurant. 🙂 I’m sure there’s an old movie out there where kids do this. I can see the scene in my head, but I can’t place it.

My BFF of over 50 years is turning 70 on Friday. I’ve arranged for a birthday present I’m sure she’ll think is fun and funny to arrive on the day. I still have her Christmas present here. Her husband won’t let anyone else inside their house. I’m hoping I’ll be able to talk her into coming to my house for lunch one day soon. There’s a zoom party planned by her husband for her on Saturday, but the guest list looks like his friends. This was a “later in life” marriage, the second for her, but the first for him, and he hasn’t asborbed her life before him very well. I made the cut, and courtesy says I must “drop in”, but life under lockdown makes celebrating special occasions depressing.

The Parent Trap is the only movie I can think of. The twins in that movie attempt to recreate their parents first date at an Italian restaurant, Martinelli’s I think. They put candles on the table and perform, but the wait staff and chef are their rich father’s hired help🙃

        • elliesmom says:

You got it! It was a “scathingly brilliant idea” (from “The Trouble with Angels”, another Hayley Mills movie) and “fraught with humor” (the line ED constantly stole from Parent Trap). Hayley Mills starred in “The King and I’ in the Broadway in Boston series. She was absolutely terrible, but it was a fun girls’ night out for those of us old enough to have seen “The Parent Trap” in the theater and our daughters who thought she was Miss Bliss. Her acting wasn’t bad, but her singing was cringeworthy.

BACKROOM DEAL: Pence, McCarthy, Pelosi, McConnell Plan To End January 6 Challenge After 2 Hour Debate.

A backroom deal has been struck that will attempt to pacify Trump’s base while ultimately mollifying the January 6 challenge, National File’s sources say.

    • elliesmom says:

It’s not, nor has it ever been, what’s going to happen in the Capitol Building tomorrow that matters. We already know it’s a uniparty. The Democrats are the Harlem Globetrotters, and the Republicans are the Washington Generals. What happens on the floor is just an exhibition game. It’s what happens out on the streets tomorrow that matters. Are the 74 million people going to say, “We’re really disappointed in you. Do better next time.”, or are they going to say, “You’re fired!” and march the folks inside the building out of town? They’ve removed our ability to vote them out of office.

      • DeniseVB says:

We know the media will be looking for violence and spin it on the Trump supporters, it’s a trap!

        • elliesmom says:

Most of the media of the day didn’t support the folks we now call the patriots, but were traitors to the king to the press. History is written by the victors so we read Thomas Paine and Benjamin Franklin in school. But most of the publications at the time tried to quell the fervor for demanding separation from the British Empire. The revolutionaries had to start their own media. At the time of the first shots of the war, only about half of the people in the colonies wanted independence, about one-fifth were loyalists, and the rest were fence sitters waiting to see which side was going to prevail.

So, yes, it’s a trap of sorts. But the question is are folks too worried about what the media will say about them to act? We also know the “first shot” might not come from our side. Then the question becomes if we don’t start it, are we going to let the other side finish it? I know I’m a little old lady out in the boonies, and I’m not in DC this week standing in the frontlines so I will accept whatever the people who are decide to do. I trust them to do the right thing more than I have faith in Mike Pence.

Got that right and that’s the best synopsis of the situation we’re in without using curse words I’ve read. I would be there but for health problems I’m praying for Millions and just in general and for this country and all people everywhere.

Is it possible to understand how we play catch. We be a hodge podge of many years. I’d rip out my front teeth before I let anyone hurt Special Greg. I can see Elliesmom taking in Hank. I have been profoundly helped by discussing my brat. I got more than one gift. Helen?? Kick me in the head. She had her granddaugher ask her to lunch. She was standing at the end of Helen’s driveway.
I at times think all of this hurts too much. I watch something like The Hunt and I just laugh. The Hunt is funny.
New Years Day I was calling my dog fatty. I always call her fatty because she is fat. Gracie eats and eats. The neighbor went after my mom saying i called his friend fat. I was asleep. Shay heard a coward attack my 74 year old mom. Love my brat. She said back off. I will kill you. Haha kid has a black belt. A twig insulted my 74 year old mom Shayla said stand your sorry ass down I will break you in pieces. He ran. I said kitten do not scare next door here is 500.

They can shove their deal up their asses. No fake election. Ever. So they are going to try to pay us off? With what? $2,000.? No. More likely a “Blue Star Commission” of “highly respected” Judges and Congress People (not sure where they will find any politician or judge who is “highly respected”. Who will execute process and do a little Kabuki and 5 years from now possibly release a redacted report.

Do you know what bothers me most about the amount of plariarizing Biden and Harris do? It’s how bad they are at it. There are several apps out there designed to help teachers ferret out stolen work. She loads the app, looks for a string of words that stick out, and types the string into the app. In seconds it returns links to anywhere that string of words has appeared. She can choose “exact match” or “similar to”. It would have been perfectly OK if Harris had said, “I love this story MLK told, and then told it. But saying the incident happened to her, made her a liar, and it was easy to prove.

Teachers also have the ability to compare written works to see what the likelihood it is that the same person wrote them. It can be a fun exercise to run multiple speeches by the same person through an app and get the percentage possibility the same person wrote them. It’s one of the reasons why a famous person who wants to have a ghostwriter write for him should keep the same writer on retainer. If you’re a student who buys papers instead of writing them yourself, you need to hire someone by the course, not by the paper. You no longer have to be a forensic specialist to find plagiarists and people who “hire out” their writing. I kind of get why Biden might have been ignorant about how easy it is to get caught, but Harris should know about these “tools for teachers”. The leftwing press might not bother to check, but any high school teacher might.

You reminded me of my favorite literary fraud experts, Jack Cashill, picking apart Obama’s books and used that system too. One of my favorite “fraudobama” articles from 2008 🙂

Jack was considered a conspiracy theorist using the FRES system to bring up solid questions about Bill Ayers authoriship of Bam’s books.

it really bothers me how ridiculous their lies are

      • lateblum says:

It really bothers me that people of all stripes, believe the lies. And when the lies are proven to be lies – people not only continue to accept the lies, but excuse them.
I’m thinking of my family right now. Everything from high school diplomas to PhD.s and international award recipients. They still think the sun, the moon and the stars reside in the DNC.

        • Constance says:

I don’t think they do believe the lies. I have noticed that idiot Libs who used to stick a Orange Man Bad virtue signal in after every few sentences have gone silent. That had to take a hell of a lot of effort and removed the only pleasure they have in their pathetic lives so somethings are up that aren’t being measured.

  17. elliesmom says:

If Mike Pence steps up tomorrow, and he and Trump are re-inaugurated on the 20th, the Republican nomination for POTUS in 2024 will be his to accept or refuse. The other people chomping at the bit to get the nod are all young enough to wait. The only way they will have a shot at a legitimate run anytime in their lifetime likely depends on what Mike Pence does or doesn’t do. They will all owe him. I don’t trust media reports, but word is out that Pence is planning to retire after Biden is sworn in. I’ve never sensed Mike Pence had a huge fire in his belly. Like with Ed McMahon, the second banana seat seems as far as his ego needs him to go. Mike appears to be a devoutly religious man, and real politics isn’t for either the faint of heart or the scrupulously honest. If he’s worried about the perception that he would be stopping Biden’s ascendancy for his own political gain, he could still retire after Trump’s inauguration and let Trump name a new successor.

    • Constance says:

Pence did apparently announce last week that he doesn’t plan to continue his political career once his current gig is over. I don’t know what that means.

      • Somebody says:

Probably means he has a nice pay off, a book deal, a cushy board position, maybe even a radio show he used to have one.

        • DeniseVB says:

Yep. Or maybe a nice university job where he can get 6 figures for teaching one class a semester and enjoy his golden years without the stress politics requires these days. He’s had a nice ride without all the baggage attached, he can rest on those laurels 🙂

Just a year ago I would have thought this was fake news.

New York’s new law setting up detention centers to lock up suspected Covid-19 cases heralds a Kafkaesque nightmare

The New York legislature is weighing a bill that would let the authorities take anyone suspected of having or being exposed to a contagious disease and hold them indefinitely – even forcibly medicating them.

Under the new law, New Yorkers may be dragged out of their homes and locked up on mere suspicion of having been ‘exposed’ to the novel coronavirus — no positive test or even symptoms necessary. Once imprisoned in one of the state’s purpose-built facilities, individuals may be forced to submit to a “prescribed course of treatment” including drugs and vaccines — and even then, freedom is not guaranteed.
