After rebooting my tablet I was able to “like “ and it shows up as blue . But Two posts apparently never went anywhere. They disappeared before right as I was going to hit send. My iCloud and aol emails have been slow as molasses at best and often not showing up or freezing the screen. The gmail I have because I needed to set up for mom’s nook is not even loading the shell. However the work emails associated with websites not managed by any large Corp are fine.

The Dems, Media, and Big Tech, but I repeat myself, are going full Stalin on anything they fear might be connected to the movement. They are scared shitless. Trump won in a landslide, but worse, pulled in the highest number of blacks and latinos in generations. They declared war, and are attempting a scorched earth strategy. So the big question is, will it work. Will people on the movement side have any technically savvy people that can work around what will be coming? If Trump wanted to build a new media platform, would the owners of the underlying infrastructure allow it?

    • DandyTIger says:

Phone access, e.g., Verizon, might be next. And I full expect WP here to follow as well. Be careful out there.

    • elliesmom says:

I know the overwhelming belief of the folks on the left is that Trump’s supporters are all a bunch of uneducated hicks and rubes, but there are a surprising number of very intelligent and knowledgeable people on his side. There will be work arounds. The more difficult the overloards make it, the more determined people will be.

I was approached by a professor from my alma mater to let a few of her students try to construct something that would be impervious to hacking by mine. I gave the challenge to one of my classes, the one the AP physics teacher said was too stupid to be able to take a real physics class. They broke through the prof’s graduate level class in computer security’s gradebook program in less than an hour after I made it “live”. I gave everyone an F and challenged them to change their own grades. What was funny was while they could have changed all the grades to As, they gave themselves the grades they really had. At the end of the semester they averaged a B on the same physics final all of the other kids from other teachers’ classes had to take. The arrogance on the left will be their eventual undoing.

They think when the shit hits the fan there will be 6 red levels to look for, not necessarily in order. Most think we are at 4 or 5 now.
Red 1: POTUS Twitter Removal, Red 2: Central communications blackout (continental USA) Red 3: CLAS movement, Pelosi or Pence. Red 4: Movement of MIL assets (10th Mountain 1st Marine CPSD Marine QVIR) to central locations under guise of citizen riot control. Red 5: NAT MIL COM CEN. Red 6: Sec of Defense instruct1 USSS Castlerock.

Nice FB post from Brad Torgersen

Need to put this one on the record. Then I’m going to do my best to get my head out of the on-line political tornado come Monday morning.

One could rightly argue BLM spent an entire summer engaged in treason and insurrection. They stormed and occupied the halls of government, just like MAGA did on Wednesday. Also like MAGA, the men and women of BLM think the state does them wrong, and they intend to be heard. To include making powerful people uncomfortable. Even fearful.

Both movements believe the system is corrupt, and if the authorities themselves won’t fix it, the activists will make life bad for the authorities. You can argue the particulars, sure. But the essential beef is very similar: that government and its officers have been abusive to the people.

You decide which “team” is more warranted, and why.

I kinda think they both have a point.

And no, that’s not granting license for murder and destruction. I’ve gone out of my way to point out that killing for the sake of killing, and burning for the sake of burning, does far more harm to the cause than it does to the target of the cause.

But merely declaring a movement illegit doesn’t magically make millions of angry people go away. Even if you disagree with them. They’re still there. They’re still angry. And the more you try to suffocate them beneath a legal or corporate or social pillow, the angrier they get, and the more determined they become to seek a redress of grievances.

I know people won’t like me putting MAGA and BLM side-by-side on the American cultural chess board. But if one is the rook, the other is the bishop. And they’re both seething at the king and queen.

    • DeniseVB says:

I liked that. BUT, up til now MAGA has always been fun loving, rally attending, flag waving and boat parading patriots showing love for the Pres and Country. What I saw happen at the Capitol was like Charlottesville on steroids. A few far right whackadoodles not really trying to destroy, but to protect (a statue) and ONE far right wingnut kills an innocent and the media took over to spin it for the Dems and/or antifas as innocent little children caught up in hate by the Nazis and KKKs. When Trump tried to smooth it out, they doubled down on the hating. That’s what we’ve been up against ever since.

    A Letter from the Chairman

    January 8, 2021

As I write to you today, I have no doubt that this letter will find many of you crushed under the weight of despair or perhaps lost in a maze of confusion. It is my hope that by the time you finish reading this letter you will be able to confidently join millions of others who support the president and another four years.

Let me be clear: Trump will be president for another four years. Biden will not be president. Yes, I know those are shocking words in these crazy days.

I’m supposed to “show up” at a Zoom birthday party this afternoon. It’s for my closest friend of over 50 years, and my love for her says I need to show up. I had a gift delivered yesterday, and when I baked a chocolate cake for Christmas, I made a cupcake for me so when she eats her cake, I can eat cake with her, But her husband invited the “guests”, and it looks like I’m the only one of her friends he invited. His family is on the list, but I don’t see any of hers. I’m going to delay checking into the group as long it still counts as “fashionably late” and “lose my internet connection” as soon as I politely can. My message to him is he should remember who comes to his rescue when he needs help. Except for me, it looks like he left all of those people out. It’s the same thing with all of the people who are shunning their friends and family on the right. When the overloads come for them, and we know they will, who do they think will be there for them? “First they came for. . .”

I got there in time for the cake. 🙂

Signal, the secure messaging app: A guide for beginners
    Martin Shelton
    Martin Shelton
    Principal Researcher

For some reason, people have gotten pretty interested in mobile security lately. So let’s talk about a secure messaging app called Signal.

Signal gives you encrypted messages, as well as voice and video calls. It relies on data, so it’s a great option for free calls and texts over Wi-Fi. This can be a huge advantage for those of us who don’t want to pay for SMS text messages and phone calls, or who want to make free international calls.

It’s not only convenient, but security experts recommend Signal for a few different reasons. Signal is end-to-end encrypted, meaning that no one but your device and conversational partner’s device can read the messages you send. The team behind the software is a privacy centered nonprofit funded by grants and donations. Perhaps most importantly, Signal is open source, meaning that the code is publicly viewable. It can be examined for potential security holes, and has stood up to auditing. All of these features make Signal one of the best options for boosting your communication security.

    • swanspirit says:

SIGNAL may be out of date already! And I read the owners sold out. But there are alternatives out there. Twitter must die.

    • Woke Lola says:

Okay, I see the words, but why should I believe them? For all we know, SIGNAL is just another CIA or NSA company run by deep state. All these experts may say all this shit, but how can you really know when information is accurate given the state of the world with all its espionage and propaganda, hidden agendas, and subterfuge? Way more than half the time, the experts themselves are owned by bad actors. It’s impossible under the current regime to even know when you’re consuming believable information. I can no longer tell the difference between America and China.

I’m not going underground. Fuck that shit. I’m going to be who I am, just without politics. No point even engaging when it’s like this, and there is other work that needs to be done.

Mitch McConnell says Trump’s second Senate impeachment trial would begin on Biden’s inauguration day – as Democrats race to start hearings and demand he be tried so he can be banned from office for life

    • Somebody says:

We all need to contact and badger senate Republicans. Force them on record to take a stand. Yes, I know they lie their asses off, but get in front of this and show there are not votes for it. Those wanting to run for POTUS in 2024 would love to kneecap Trump, they need to know that would be the death of their political career

    • Gram Kraken says:

Actually cocaine Mitch has effectively prevented the senate from being able to take up articles of impeachment from the House until he is no longer Senate Majority Leader. Schumer will have to proceed after Xiden is sworn in (at). That would distract from Xiden’s moment of glory. Ironically Trump would still be the focus of attention.

“Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) circulated procedures this week for another impeachment trial against President Trump, but, per the timeline, proceedings would not occur until after Trump is already out of office.

Although the Senate will hold two pro forma sessions next week, on Jan. 12 and Jan. 15, it is barred from conducting any kind of business during those days. McConnell’s memo emphasized that point, noting it would ‘require the consent of all 100 Senators to conduct any business of any kind during the scheduled pro forma sessions prior to January 19, and therefore the consent of all 100 Senators to begin acting on any articles of impeachment during those sessions’.

In effect, that makes the matter of an impeachment trial an issue that will need to be taken up by Sen. Charles E. Schumer (D-N.Y.), the incoming majority leader, in the first days of the Biden presidency — a move that would almost certainly distract from the president-elect’s immediate agenda to battle the coronavirus pandemic and ensure that his Cabinet nominees get confirmed.”

Good Read. Firsthand account of Jan 6 Stop the Steal rally attendee’s insight and perspective on nefarious provocateurs role in Capitol Breach

“Worrisome Signs the Capitol Breach was Planned to Discredit Trump Supporters: An Eyewitness Account

Based on what I saw and read, I have no doubt that dozens and possibly even hundreds of Antifa and/or other provocateurs had infiltrated the rally in order to carry out violent acts and suck impressionable Trump supporters into their antics. Some of the more impulsive Trump supporters fell into a trap that served to scapegoat both the Trump administration and the 99.9% of rally participants who neither condoned nor participated in any of the violence.

My group boarded a D.C. Metro train at 10:30am. Upon arrival to the next station, I saw three young white men board the train with dark clothes and skeleton face masks. As I watched them from the corner of my eye, I noticed that one of them wore a cape with the American Revolution snake “Join or die.” ……T

The participants at the Ellipse were for the most part in good spirits and remarkably friendly, just as they had been in other “Stop the steal” rallies I attended in D.C….The main difference that struck me as unusual during this rally (apart from the three young men who boarded the train) was the frequent smell of marijuana……

We were present during much of the President’s speech, but since we could not hear it clearly, we walked to the National Mall in search of a bathroom…. As we resumed walking towards the Capitol building, we got caught up in the march. As we approached the building, I saw no evidence of people moving to the North lawn as previously planned. I also noticed that the people first arriving at the building were on average much younger than the group I had left at the Ellipse……

To my great surprise, young people started to climb the stairs of the Capitol stairs and the inauguration bleachers flanking each side of the stairs. …. When we arrived at the Capitol steps, we saw a young man with a bullhorn on top of the highest scaffolding urging participants to move forward. Soon we heard what sounded like ceremonial cannon fire and saw smoke and I smelled tear gas.

I was not aware that anyone had entered the building until someone with an iPhone told me gleefully that Congress had evacuated the chambers and that the vote was delayed. I was shocked, and wondered if she had a point in celebrating what happened.

Up to that moment, I had not witnessed any of the violence involved in pushing through the barricades or entering the building. The only destruction of property I witnessed first-hand was the alleged Antifa infiltrator breaking a window, only to be forcibly pulled away by Trump supporters. Suddenly the three young men I saw earlier on the train with scary masks in front (but pro-America symbols on their backs) made sense to me, as did widespread smell of marijuana.”

Be skeptical about a lot of stuff out there on the tubes. Based on poking around, it looks as though some Q folks were planning on being in DC on Jan 6 and I can’t help but wonder what role they played in breaching the Capitol. They have some batshit crazy conspiracy theories. Some were advocating for and expecting Trump to impose martial law on Jan 6 or even now. Even Lin W posted the kind of wild stuff some of these people apparently believe. There may be some there there to some of it, but most of it is bunk, in my opinion, apologies to Constance. I spent yesterday morning reading and grabbing screenshots on twitter. By evening they were gone. I think some of these same people post/comment at Beyond the Fringe.

So ridicule away. I DON’T GIVE A FUCK. Some random Anons on a website we’ve never heard of after 3 years isn’t the Q/Qanon community by any means.

I made a longer comment but deleted it all. It doesn’t fucking matter with people who don’t know the first thing about “Q”. Get back to us when you can say Pelosi and Schumer set up the Capitol Bldg events. Perhaps you can start blaming the proper evil fuckers then, instead of Anon researchers or “Q”.

I don’t have a place online to be comfortable at. Nowhere. NOWHERE to fucking express myself. Especially at the only blog I’ve hung out at for 12 years. I didn’t even bother mentioning my milestone birthday 4 days ago. For what? I’m shocked I’m even typing right now. Somehow I don’t even feel like a grandmother or an “adult” anymore. THERE’S NO FREEDOM OF SPEECH. When we have to fucking APOLOGIZE for simply bringing up a topic to discuss… why bother trying to talk, or to anybody at all?

Shez, don’t lose hope. I think the Q people are more worthy of belief than the MSM who are worthless. Q’s are clearly more intelligent and creative. But they don’t need to be correct on everything, no one is. Who are they? Well they seem drawn to acronyms, short hand and codes and they are open creative thinkers who have considered many possibilities and have been doing that for a long time. Another thing we know is the MSM HATES them and actively mocks and tries to discredit them. Why bother? Why ridicule people who are just solving mysteries? Q’s don’t harm anyone. I didn’t even realize who they were until in an interview or debate a talking head started demanding President Trump denounce them. At that point I looked into them.
I do love Monkey Werx too. He is really interesting. These people at least know something odd is up and even though I can’t verbalize what it is I sense oddness. Plainly obvious things do not add up but mainstream people are working really hard to not talk about them.

My sister that lives here has defended herself and insisted she’s just a moderate🙄 She hasn’t apologized yet, but close.

BTW, how was your zoom party? Did your plan work out? Probably not what your friend wanted, but hopefully she had a nice birthday.

      • elliesmom says:

Yes, it did. I was delayed by helping a dog who had fallen through the ice. He wasn’t in deep water. Just too timid to try stepping back on it to get back to the shore. By the time I was in dry clothes, there was only a half hour left. When I explained why I was late, no one thought I was trying to skip the party. My friend had a nice time.

A wee bit nervous about tonight’s speech.

    • elliesmom says:

I have the TV on to a major news outlet, and no one has mentioned a speech. Do you know who is supposed to be braodcasting or streaming it? It’s after 9 pm.

      • Mothy67 says:

It was all over parler. I have OAN on and there’s nothing. Sorry about that. Why post such a senseless untruth?

        • elliesmom says:

Wishful thinking probably. They want Trump to make another move.

          • mcnorman says:

Agreed. I heard that the left is anticipating anything to charge him and jail him. Sick.

          • Somebody says:

This is the 3rd time this week rumors have circulated he was going to address the nation. I would ignore such rumors, unless you see something official say from the WH press secretary, from the official POTUS or WH account.

  44. Mothy67 says:

Is there a speech tonight? It was all over parler.

BREAKING: Tomorrow Amazon is shutting off all of Parler’s servers which means they won’t be operating online for at least a week or more until they can rebuild.

This means millions of people will be without a way to communicate since Facebook, Twitter and Instagram have all mass banned conservatives this week.

Be sure to stay in touch with me and my updates by subscribing to my website NOW

Email will be the only way I can communicate with you in the meantime.

I’m also on GAB at @lauraloomer

    • Mothy67 says:

Employees asked them to and AWS hosts them. They may need to find another.
Looks like I may need to transfer all my movies and photos and cancel amazon. I really hate proggies.

    • lateblum says:

There is more Parler info on Twitter. This time via Dinesh D’Souza…
The servers will be down for maybe a week while they reconstruct, but they will be back up and running again…

      • Constance says:

I really enjoy the Parler forum. Gab owns it’s own servers so they should be available. But President Trump controls the emergency communication system and can message everyone anytime he wants until Jan. 20th. It’s really best for us to separate from multinational corporations anyway.

        • 1539days says:

Apple is supposedly going to update iOS to remove EBS so Trump can’t encourage truth, er, violence.

          • Constance says:

So they are Q readers because Q says President Trump will use the Emergency Broadcast System to activate “Giant Voice” Which he has every right to do. These companies must participate in the Emergency Broadcast System. I’m pretty sure they are cruising for a treason charge if they do this. according to Q all treason is handled by the Military, that means military judges.

        • taw46 says:

Connie, it doesn’t matter if they own the servers. The oligarchy is pressuring the domain registrar to remove Parler and Gab. Then they won’t be able to get on the internet. You won’t be able to “see” their servers.

We are the closest thing to competition Facebook or Twitter has seen in many years. I believe Amazon, Google, Apple worked together to try and ensure they don’t have competition.

They will NOT win! We are the worlds last hope for free speech and free information.

What they are doing is unprecedented, unfounded and absolutely disgusting. Shameful.

This is a battle against all of us. Liberals, conservatives, atheists, Christians, black, white, etc. They want to keep their monopoly over speech. They want us fighting. They don’t want us working together. They don’t want us working with each other, they want us hating one another.

Parley – brings two people with conflicting ideas together. Our mission is free speech, democracy and us the people having the power. The elite don’t want us to be free, they want hate division and power!

For us to win this fight we need everyone back on Parler Tuesday. By Monday at noon we will be fully operational again.

  50. Mothy67 says:

    How to Help
    1) Tuesday come back to Parler . Com OR use the side loaded version of android OR use your already installed versions of Parler. (or maybe we will be back on the stores 😝)
    2) Check your email and spam for messages from Parler
    3) Call, write and email your congressman and senators and expose this anti-competitive behavior. On both sides of the isle.
    4) Cancel your Amazon subscriptions and dump Apple. Google/android is not much better, but it will have to do until the Linux phones are finally ready.
    5) DO NOT leave angry messages however DO complain politely to Amazon, Google, Apple via mail and via phone.

We should be operational with less then 12 hours of downtime after Amazon abruptly pulls our access. This is unprecedented.

      Good one.
I rewatched The Hunt after you mentioned it.

      • lyn5 says:

I rented it after you said you liked it. It is fun.

I have the first cataract surgery on Tuesday, so I need to take a break from social media to relax. Will be watching movies and taking naps.

          • Mothy67 says:

I liked you on gab today.
I think I may keep prime and just not buy anything. I already paid for a year and finding a way to store all my pics, movies, books would cost me significantly more. I can also use it to know what Shay is up to. Kids can’t stop taking pics and hers go straight to my cloud. She says she’s at the mom I just look at my phone. I would/will completely drop if Walmart+ ever gets all the whistles. You can get top brands on W+.

          • lyn5 says:

Thanks, vm. It’s an easier surgery than the detached retina one. And it’s here and not 95 miles one way.

          • lateblum says:

I’ll be thinking of you on Tuesday and keeping my fingers crossed that all will be well. 💕

          • Constance says:

            Yes, Heal fast.

        • elliesmom says:

I hope your surgery is uneventful and the end result is 100% effective. My DYI friends recommend the Netflix original “Falling Inn Love” for relaxing movie watching. I haven’t watched it yet, but it’s very popular with both Joanna Gaines and Hallmark channel fans.

          • lyn5 says:

            Thank you. ❤

I'm going for a -2.00 prescription. I'll need glasses to drive. Because of the repaired detached retina, my left eye may be funky. (The correction for my left eye was around -9.00.)

I liked "Falling Inn Love."it. I like cute movies without big-named actors.

I’m glad to hear Parler is going to find a new home and has so many new customers, but that they have found themselves in this predicament in the first place speaks to their lack of both technical and political sophistication. If you want to set up a “resistance” to one of the tech giants, you don’t move into the business of one of their tech giant buddies to stage your coup. The people running Parler are either really not ready for primetime, or they have a jester in their midst deliberately steering them to make freshman mistakes. Like the senior who convinces gullible freshmen there’s a pool on the roof of the school.

As to boycotts of places like Amazon- when you ask people to boycott a business because you don’t like how they do business or who they support, each person weighs whether the hardship participating in the boycott will cause the business being boycotted enough pain to justify their own. If there are two doughnut shops in town, a boycott of one of them might make the shop owner take notice or even put him out of business. If the next closest doughnut shop is 10 miles away, a few people might drive that far to get a doughnut, and given that doughnuts are not essential, a few more might pass on eating doughnuts for awhile, but the vast majority of the doughnut shop’s customers will remain customers. Absent any real competition, and so necessary for survival to so many people, a boycott of Amazon won’t be successful enough to keep Bezos from sleeping on a mattress full of money every night, and it won’t make him change his mind about how he does business. Have you noticed any changes at Netflix? Any movies or programs removed for cause?

If you decide to boycott Amazon, you need to know all of the businesses you’d need not to buy from. As someone who lives in an area where Amazon does all of its own deliveries, I can tell you Walmart makes big use of Amazon. Pretty much anything I order from Walmart that won’t fit in my mailbox gets delivered to me by Amazon. A lot of the small businesses on places like etsy use Amazon for a selling platform and to deliver. The bigger question is not how you’re going to boycott Amazon, but what are you going to do if Amazon decides to boycott you?
