Unless it’s chocolate. I’ll take the roses. ❤ Happy Valentine's Day to you, too. My parents met in Boston during the Valentine's Day Blizzard of 1940. She was a pretty girl who had gone to a USO dance in red sandals, and he was a young soldier driving a snowplow. He dleivered her home to her parents and got an invitation to Sunday dinner. Valentine's Day was always a special holiday in our house.

One Valentine’s, mr.mir gave me a bouquet of yarn skeins and a candy box full of lottery scratchers. No big winners on the scratchers, but lots of fun.

The first year we were dating, ED had no idea he was supposed to do anything to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Then he bumped into me while I was picking up a package in the college mailroom on the 13th. It was from my dad, and there was a box of chocolates and a sappy sweet card. The note inside said, “Beware of overly eager young men on Valentine’s Day. Your grandmother isn’t around anymore to make them dinner, and you’ll never catch one of them with your mother’s pot roast.” ED showed up the next night with supermarket flowers and a pizza, but I had gone out on a date with another guy. Two weeks later he asked me to marry him. He always had something fun up his sleeve for Valentine’s Day after that. I love that your husband has fun with the day, too. ❤

I love this story, Miranda❣️ One year for Valentine’s Day, my husband got me snow tires. It’s amazing we lasted another 20 years… lol

He gave me a wheelbarrow for my birthday once. I wanted one for gardening 🙂

Vacuum cleaners are not “gifts”. A KitchenAid Professional mixer is. In my case, a wheelbarrow would fall into the vacuum cleaner category, but I totally get it.

That is cool. One year I did get a treadmill. I was glad I stuck around for it.I really wanted that treadmill. Lol

I am watching Attorney van der Veen, he is good. This is what happened. The agreed upon proceedings were no witnesses. Now Raskin wants to subpoena Jaime Herrera Beutler, based on a news report last night about a phone call between Trump and McCarthy that she claims she was a witness to (a hearsay witness while the primary witness is there in Congress). van der Veen said their article of impeachment was one, that his speech incited insurrection. What was or was not said several hours later had nothing to do with incitement, the invasion of the Capitol had already happened. And that if the Senate voted to call the witness, he wanted to call 100, including Pelosi and Bowser. So now they have voted 55-45 to call this witness, not clear if it was to call one witness or multiple, they didn’t even know what they were voting on.

I have been listening to Alan Dershowitz on Newsmax and this is what he said. The Dems have lost the case, heard this morning that McConnel would not vote to impeach, and now want to muddy the waters and go against the proceedings they agreed upon. And only want to call the one witness, which Dersh said they cannot do, must allow the other side to call witnesses. If they only allow theirs, then the American people will have yet more evidence of how unfair this whole procedure is to Trump. He also goes into great detail about the judge and jury being democrats who have already said they will vote to convict, have already done so in last trial, etc. So, if this goes forward, they will be arguing over each and every witness proposed, trial would go on for months. Some thought that Dems might change their mind. They are taking a break right now. Dersh is good, still on Newsmax, I think throughout this hearing today.
