1/ The reality is that when Boehner and McConnell joined the Democrats in 2010, to thwart the impact of the tea party, they broke trust with the base.
2/ Then in 2014, after the base rallied to two consecutive establishment Presidential candidates that threw the elections to Obama, we still turned out to hand Ryan the House and Mitch the Senate and they again betrayed us by immediately capitulating to DACA.
3/ In 2016 the base no longer viewed the Republican establishment as representing their interests. Every admonition to reject Trump was ignored because we no longer trusted our political leaders.
4/ And how did they handle this rebuke from the base? They immediately sided with the Democrats false Russia collusion narrative and then used a brain dead McCain to accomplish their ultimate betrayal on repeal and replace.
5/What was the rallying cry of the base as they backed Trump in 2016? BUILD THE WALL! But Republicans who controlled the House and the Senate rejected every attempt to fund the wall.
6/ It was only after Democrats controlled the House in 2018 that Trump single handedly executed the maneuver to fund and build the wall.
7/ Then in 2020 the Republican Party sat back and watched as every rule was changed to facilitate an election like no other in our history. Who was screaming about it? McConnell? McDaniel? McCarthy? No. It was Trump as the media complex attacked him and the party did nothing.
8/ So why would they think we would back them? They are abusers telling their victims it wonāt happen again. Except we have moved out and are no longer answering their calls. Theyāre angry. Bitter. Resentful. Seemingly prepared to kill us off if they canāt have us.
9/ But we are liberated. Empowered. And we have an advocate encouraging us.
Which only makes them more angry.
Alas nothing they do will work.

10/ Iām not so deluded to think anything I say matters to @LeaderMcConnell. Iāll just say I called this reality, itās implications and Trumpās likely victory early in 2015.

SCOTUS to Hear Election Fraud Cases for Pennsylvania, Michigan & Georgia
The SCOTUS is now scheduled to consider the voter fraud cases for Pennsylvania, Michigan, and Georgia on February 19, 2021.
Justices will hear the cases that allege widespread fraud in the 2020 presidential election.
Among those to be heard are Republican Rep. Mike Kelly’s Pennsylvania election case, pro-Trump lawyer Sidney Powell’s Michigan election case, and attorney Lin Wood’s Georgia election case.

My wonderful friend and work partner, Libby Albert, made a great live video the other day covering a few bases. I was so glad she did. She addressed a few things that I wouldnāt mind reiterating myself. Iāve read a few comments from a couple people insisting I speak out right now or come forward with a statement(s). Please understand, I am following my attorneyās instructions to a tee. He has insisted that I take some quiet time with friends and family, and stay away from news and social media.
His advice is sage for many reasons. Iāve opened the news and social media a couple times the last few weeks and seen a flurry of wrong information being said about myself. Since there is nothing I can say or do about these things at this time anyway, itās just best for me to avoid reading them.
I would say 99% of you have been understanding and stood by me on this. Thank you for understanding. I want to respect the process of all of this as it plays out, and I know thatās what you want, too.
Please know that I have a wonderful lawyer who I trust to take the best care of me that he can. Weāll all get through this.
My team and I continue to work, and I am spending the extra time I have now writing and working on projects that youāll all love. Hang in there with me. This too shall pass.

Been hearing from some active duty military members in recent weeks. Morale is abysmal; leadership is running scared and jumping on every PC bandwagon to curry favor with the new administration; the pause in ops to educate about hate speech/white supremacy is widely seen as a political cleansing and purge. Folks are afraid of being forced out over past social media posts for simply praising President Trump when he did good things for the military. The perception is if a service member or even a family member of one is seen as right wing in any way, a registered Republican, or a Trump-supporter, that they have targets on their backs. This is sick and disgraceful.
It’s also eerily reminiscent of what goes on in Communist regimes, when the apparatchiks fear disharmony and disloyalty in the military ranks. After all, dictators need a strong and loyal military to put down any civilian uprising.

The thing that strikes me about the pedophile angle is I read a book with this plot ten years ago. I can remember where I bought the book (Whistler BC) and where I was sitting when I read it but not the name of the damn book It was set in England and the old boys who ran the country would coerce new comers to politics into acts of child abuse in their exclusive clubs as a membership, hazing ritual and then blackmail the politicians to get what they needed. Things like this are seldom proposed by people who have to experience them. I’ve a spent a few days in a unheated house mid-winter in New England. It was doable for a few days, but if I couldn’t heat my house, I’d move south. It’s also easy for people who have just a few days with temps in the 90s to say people don’t need air conditioning until they experience a summer where temps over 100 are an everyday occurrence. “You go first” should be a mantra.
Climate control (and let’s not forget refrigeration) has been a huge benefit to overall health and mobility of people. Sleeping, exercise and overall activity are improved at the right temperatures. Reduced humility prevents the growth of mold.
None of that matters, of course, for the environmentalists. To them, humans are the problem and anything to wipe them out faster will allow them to feel better about being the last generation.

This morning’s snow has been cancelled in RI. The snow, rain, and ice predicted for this afternoon has been moved to overnight. More rain and ice than snow. By the time the precipitation hits peak, it will be well above freezing so this going to be mostly a morning commute thing-y. More of a street flooding issue than icy roads, I’d guess. There’s already no school for winter break. I ordered something from Amazon due to arrive on Tuesday, and I was going to contact them to postpone delivery until Wednesday so my delivery person wouldn’t have to make it up my driveway tomorrow morning, but I see Amazon is using USPS for the delivery, and it’s being delivered today. So Amazon is using the post office to do holiday deliveries? I would have waited to place the order if I had known.
Well, Amazon does have that sweet deal where they pay less than everyone else for USPS.

I’m sorry you’re getting hit so hard. We have a theory around here. Every region is allotted so much snow every winter by Meteora, the Goddess of the Weather. You either get it in dribs and drabs, or you get buried in it in a couple of big storms, but the snow season isn’t over until you get your whole allottment. If it comes in dribs, we sometimes get snow for Mother’s Day. If a couple of big storms hit before the end of January, then it’s pretty much over.
Thanks. I donāt really mind the snow as long as I donāt have to get into my car and go anywhere. My beautiful building was built in 1902. And it had no garage or even a coach house. So all our cars are parked on the street. All the time. Iām just glad that my street is not a snow route. Otherwise, there would no place for our cars on this kind of weather day. Of course it does make for our cars to be easily plowed in during this kind of weather event.
We had a foot of snow in Seattle this weekend which is very rare. But today’s temperature is 40 degrees so we are melting out. Seattle doesn’t plow but there are already bare ruts in the street. Since I drive an old Prius I’ll have to wait another day to drive as the car is too low to clear the piles of frozen slop in the middle of the tire tracks.

The Weather Channel just downgraded our winter storm warning to an advisory. Now just rain and temps above freezing. I have the “snow angel’s dinner” ready for tomorrow night, and he can have it as a celebration that neither one of us will have to deal with snow tomorrow. It might stop raining around noon so Ellie should even get her walk tomorrow after all. I’d rather the predictions go in this direction, but sometimes I think they do it because they enjoy getting people all hyped up.
Snow was supposed to start at 7am. Now, it’s 10pm. Snow was supposed to continue until 4pm Tuesday, now it’s 5am. A 24+ hour storm is now 8 hours of snow.

She was hospitalized briefly, but then sent home, to her 94 year old mother. I cannot imagine who would allow that, but there it is.
