How to make your mask fit more snugly. 🙂

    • lateblum says:

Holy Jeebus. I am so over masks. I just washed several that I own yesterday and marveled at the sheer genius of WHOever is raking in the $$ from selling these babies.
IF i get the vaccine, it won’t be Moderna or Pfizer. And it won’t be anytime soon.
I have bigger fish to fry (so to speak). On Tuesday I received 2 letters that indicate my identity has been stolen. Someone is – or has been – using my name to collect unemployment benefits.
To paraphrase Dr Seuss: “Oh the hoops I will have to jump” to clear this up! I was online until nearly 11 just trying to track and file fraud claims with state and federal agencies.
Today I have to freeze my credit – or whatever it’s called. Good times.

      • Woke Lola says:

Oh God, that sucks, LB! So sorry.

      • swanspirit says:

Oh jeez! So sorry you have to go through that!! I hope they catch the thieves, and throw them in jail.

        • Mothy67 says:

My sister in law got collection letters for utilities. She had to go to court. Woman was fined and ordered to make restitution. She filed bankruptcy. My SiL never saw a penny and this woman got to wipe out all her debt. No jail.

          • lateblum says:

Fortunately the unemployment site says that IF there have been payments made to someone else but in my name, I am not being held financially responsible for whatever sums were payed out to that person. but it says nothing about debt incurred in my name. Just to go to those credit reporting sites and issue a freeze and get a report.
Also fortunately, every site I have investigated for being a scam itself, seems to be legitimate.

        • lateblum says:

          Thank you, me too.
This has been a roller coaster of a week. I still have a TON of work to do r/t credit and all that goes with it, I am feeling overwhelmed.

      • votermom says:

        lateblum, how awful!
        prayers for a smooth resolution.

we found out a few days ago that someone had used KTY’s details to open a “secondary account” with her details and charged 2 hundred dollar orders. Cancellingbthe card us easy, but getting amazon to do something will apparently take a couple of business days while an “account specialist” looks at it.

      • foxyladi14 says:

        sorry sweetie. 😥

He has had some political career. Hopefully it’s coming to the end.

    • Anthony says:

I don’t give a damn about the Cuomo-sexuals. Let the 15,000 seniors who had their murders covered up by a corrupt governor and complicit media have the spotlight.

      • Dora says:

        Absolutely agree.

      • Mothy67 says:

I believe that at least 5 governors may have acted in concert to significantly increase the number of fatalities (Wolf, Newsom, Whitmer, Murphy, Cuomo). Anything to get Trump out. I see premeditated murder. More than 50% of deaths in Pennsylvania took place in long term care facilities. My aunt was fading. They tried to strong arm my cousin threatening to call an ethics board. I told her to tell them to fuck the fuck off as of yet they do not have that authority but my cousin didn’t know that. I’m sure the psychotic dimocrats plan on extinguishing us all as we age. Emmanuel said it.
Cuomo has a long history of sexcapades. Are they going to try and sell me none thought to speak up when pound me too was at its zenith???? What a load of tosh. This is a squirrel. He and the others made a calculated decision to eliminate. Dr. Levine removed it’s mother from an ltc into a hotel! Thank God for Janice Dean. It boggles the mind that an active participant in this folly has been nominated to be an under secretary. Cuomo goes down for his real crimes it’ll bring the whole mess crashing down. Who co-ordinated it? Are there other guvs involved? No way it is coincidence. He had the hospital ship, Javits, field hospitals. They needed a high death toll. Sisolak banned the use of HCQ. No one can convince me that this wasn’t intentional. Twitter would ban you for advocating hydrochoriquine. Cuomo is just one player who followed instructions from how I read it.

        • lateblum says:

I think you’re spot on, Tim!

        • swanspirit says:

I couldn’t agree more. That bunch call seniors the “olds” and have been hoping we die off, because we vote conservative, consistently. So when the opportunity came along to increase the death rate, they took it.
Facebook banned me for a week for mentioning HCQ. I had been thinking that the virus itself was bioengineering to target seniors, in the first place.
They didn’t want President Trump curing people on his hospital ships and in his field hospitals. He would get too much credit. Fatalities are just “bumps in the road” to these monsters.
Psaki still attributes the entire death toll to President Trump whenever she can, without anyone ever asking how many of the deaths are due to Democratic governors shoving people into ill equipped nursing homes. I bet it’s higher than 50%

          • Mothy67 says:

When da pup was getting her black belt I would sit with a retired nursing professor who was then teaching CNA courses. She told me a large % were refugees and she had been given instructions to pass every one of them no matter what. These are the people supposedly caring for our most vulnerable? Dims are shit heads.

          • lateblum says:

Mothy, I remember when you wrote about that “back in the day”. At that time one of my daughter’s nurses in the ltc was from Somalia. She was a wonderful nurse and knew what she was doing. But I know that even in hospitals there are people who don’t know their head from their tail. Sadly, with C19 came the loss of that nurse who has 4 tiny little children. She stopped working so she could be around for her babes. I don’t blame her a bit. I’m not as familiar with the nurses there now. In Chicago, the ltc’s still aren’t allowing visitors. So I cant even see who’s working there. I just received an email on Wednesday from the ltc social worker that a staff member has been diagnosed C19+. So there’s that. I believe all the residents that agreed have had both of their vaccines, though.

          • swanspirit says:

I was a supervisor at a local nursing home and rehab, for years. I had been a charge nurse at an adolescent psychiatric facility for years before that, so I went from adolescent psych, to geriatric care. But I originally just took the nursing home position, because the adolescent facility was sixty miles one way, away, and the nursing home was six miles away. HUGE difference, so I thought, I would take the weekend nursing home position, and still work part time with the kids. Then after a while, the nursing home offered me a full time, and at that time, it was a lovely place, so I took it.

But most long term facilities, are not equipped for acute care patients. They do not run IV’s, their staff isn’t trained for acute care, and all of the frequent testing and increased level of care required for someone who needs acute respiratory support, etc etc. That is why they are called Long Term Care. Acute Care is an entirely different ball game. To throw many numbers of acute care patients, into a long term facility, is insanity. Not to mention, that many of these places didn’t even have the equipment or training needed, to properly care for those people. They had to know what the outcome would be. No wonder they let the administrators of the nursing homes off the hook for liability.
Just like Cuomo said out loud,”Who Cares”?

          • lateblum says:

I hope it didn’t sound as though I thought badly of the staff. I didn’t, and I don’t. I just don’t know them now because of all the changes due to C19. You are absolutely correctly about what these facilities are capable of handling. When dd#2 was diagnosed with C19, it was in the beginning of the epidemic. The best the staff could do was to isolate the Covid pts in one wing of the facility. Fortunately, they had a wing that could be used in that manner. They would transfer pts who became too ill to the hospital. There are a little over 100 ppl who live in that home. In the end, between residents and staff, 2 people died from the virus, and they were residents. Although dd#2 did not know who they were, she felt a sense of loss as well as relief that there weren’t more who succumbed to the disease.
I love hearing about your extensive nursing history. You have left your mark on the lives of so many. 😘

          • swanspirit says:

Thank you Leslie! It has been a long and winding road, and I didn’t think you thought badly of the staff at all. And I hope if I left marks, they faded after a while! 😮😎

      • lateblum says:

Yup.. It’s almost as if those thousands of deaths mean nothing (to the Dems). But put a skirt on tv and we’ve got a “problem”. They will all rot in hell where they belong.

        • Mothy67 says:

Progressivism is a religion. They see their cause as worthy. Cheating, killing, lying, stealing they do in the name of their false god. I have seen a lot of it over the last 12 years. Anyone not in the cult is written off or pitied. I have been shocked to hear the subtly disguised racism and classism of what were once my peers. Contentedness seems to really disturb them. White working class people getting the most out of life angers them. Friday night lights in a community is gaucsh. My decision to stick around with a brat was made almost 15 years ago to stupor. How could anyone leave a decent life in NY to care for a monster. Sadly their kids which they had later are fucked up. Blame goes on society at large. Or it’s chemical. Or it’s the Trumps of the world. Never an ounce of personal responsibility. Everything acts upon them. They project misery upon everyone else. Sit and listen to a proggie discuss minorities. It’s, I find, a way to elevate themselves.
Every one I know who watches Rachel Maddow is miserable. Fundamentally unhappy. It’s unbearable to think maybe they are doing something wrong. I think it’s the concept of happiness. I watched them fall apart over mass shootings- claims of being unable to cope!?!?! Hey Zeus freaking Crisco snap out of it. Tragedy is part of life. Stop acting like existence is a fairy tale. Nobody is “happy”. They run to expensive therapy and down scripts. Booze it up, but at least they are not like those simple minded blue collar workers who are too stupid to realize they should be miserable. I think that is why they are so obsessed with controlling every one else. Most of the elitists I know think people that are not unhappy are just stupid. Hmmmm? How about maybe they don’t live in a fantasy world so reality is what it is.
All the fucks saw/heard with Trump was bad people coming across the border and large trucks. None of the fun which was pandemic at rallies.

Are architects required to take any courses that would cover thermodynamics? I don’t know. I have a young friend with a BA in environmental public policy that had no requirements in any of the basic sciences and only economics 101. Of course, she went to BU so not taking advanced economics probably doesn’t make a difference.

        “towering black pyramid”
Read an abstract last week that reported a study where the impact of large “black” photo-electric projects proposed for deserts was calculated. The bottom line was that the rate of “global warming” would be significantly increased. The photo-electric panels convert ~15% of photons to electricity, the rest is dissipated as heat which increases atmospheric temp. Normally the desert surface has high albedo and reflects light rather than absorbs it.

        • elliesmom says:

My driveway is asphalt black top. Most of my neighbors only have gravel, but I live on a steep hill, and a gravel driveway would do the gravity thing. Even with a couple of inches of snow covering it, on a sunny day with temperatures well below freezing the snow on my driveway will melt while my neighbors’ stay snow covered. Black is incredibly good at collecting heat, but it’s also good at warming up it’s surroundings. Anyone who has walked across blacktop on a hot day barefoot knows. One of best intercession classes I ever took was called, “Understanding the Law of Unintended Consequences”.

          • 1539days says:

It all has advantages and disadvantages. I also have blacktop, but the driveway is sinking where the cars are parked on the spots the tires make contact. But asphalt cracks less and easier to patch.

Oh no. After your wonderful birthday adventures with calamity

No fun. went through that years ago but they were helping themselves to multiple DC government paychecks. Found out because they took car expenses even though they had a government car and I got an audit notice because they did not realize the irs has a data base on gov owned vehicles . Although The IRS was actually far less frigid once they figured out it was a rather widespread scam by DC employees. I paid nothing but it was a huge hassle.

When I had to deal with SSA fraud for mom ( two of my sisters in law did some not so nice things like pretended to be me and mom), they explained we were not help responsible for any false payments.

    • lateblum says:

I’m so glad they both worked out for you. But what a hassle!

And yes. The birthday celebration with Calamity is still wonderful. Thankfully I had decided to set this issue aside until after here birthday. So I did. And I’m so happy I made that decision. I mean I could drop dead now from breathing in all my CO2 from wearing these damn masks, but we’d still have had that beautiful birthday time together. 🥰

You were sweet to think of Calamity’s bday. Thanks.💕

This article somehow crystallizes my thinking on current events

US politics have now become a war for survival – for both sides

    • lyn5 says:

“Conservatives may believe that the restoration of our constitutional republic is of overriding importance (and, from a political perspective, I agree with them): but, in terms of that same constitution, the progressive Left has committed high treason. They’ve subverted and undermined the US political process to steal power from the legitimately elected candidate. They know that if they ever lose power, those who take the reins from them will want criminal investigation and prosecution of all those involved in that electoral fraud – and one of the penalties for high treason is death. For the left to allow the right to win would be to commit at least political, if not a very physical suicide. This they will never do voluntarily.”

Folks on the left miss the point of Trump, too. They think the people who voted for him worship him like a cult leader. No, that would be you guys and Obama. We just like the results Trump gets.

      • lyn5 says:

Truth. Trump fought for the working and middle class.

        • swanspirit says:

That is exactly right. My head really turned to Trump, when he started talking about veterans. He got my serious attention. And since then, he has lived up to his promises, as best he could, given the incredible and massive, and ILLEGAL resistance he has been met with. But I do not worship him, the way Obanana worshippers bow and scrape for their do nothing demigod.

  12. lyn5 says:

The sweeping election reform package is divided into three major sections; the second section is the main body of the legislation, with three subsections: a) Voting, b) Campaign Finance, and c) Ethics. Section three is the Findings of General Constitutional Authority and section four is the Standards for Judicial Review.
