Mask mandates are dropped in Nevada and in the Wynn and Encore casinos. Mr.Miranda and I are discussing options 😀

  2. 1539days says:

This new mask update is headed for a showdown. First of all, the people who don’t want to wear masks are also among the people who don’t want to get vaccinated. How long until this mask freedom day blows up and people care told they have to wear masks in every building because they can’t trust the “wrong” people to take off masks. Even the NY vaccine pass won’t help unless they keep segregating by vaccine status.

This also provides that Star of David opportunity that the government wanted. The “bad” people will be wearing masks, much like a year ago when people who wore masks were supposedly taking them away from the dancing nurses who were on the front lines of the battle of COVID 2019. I’ll keep wearing a mask, which will kill me slowly, rather than taking a vaccine that could kill me quickly.

So many pretty arrangements, I know I’m going to repeat a few that are starting to look familiar.

I just saw your Palestine LGBT supporters photo on FB, did they let you back on or was that the “other” Swannie? 🙂

      • Swan Spirit says:

That was the Swannie that just got banned for 30 days. And it wasn’t even that photo. It was my reply, to someone who said those people would get their heads chopped off if they were in Palestine. I replied, or hanged or shot. And boom, 30 day ban. So telling the truth gets you banned, I am guessing.

        • elliesmom says:

You have someone following you and reporting you. You need to find out who it is and get him or her off your friends’ list just to make your comments harder to find. And if you belong to any groups, make sure only members of the group can see your comments. If the group is private, but the comments aren’t, that’s not good enough. Chasing you off Facebook is this person’s goal.

          • lyn5 says:

A comment on a FB post by Dinesh D’Zousa is what put me in jail. When I tried to create a new account, FB wouldn’t let me.

          • DeniseVB says:

I’ve got about 60 friend requests I’m ignoring on FB because I don’t KNOW the people, this reminds me to delete them all. I don’t even recognize them from any groups so not sure why they need to be my “friend”.

  7. Mothy67 says:

Tuesday there are ballot measures limiting the governor’s emergency declarations. Largely ignored by the media, but ads running.
yesterday my mom forgot her mask in Walmart. They no longer have mask police at front door and employee told her it was now a choice. Also at the gym several people maskless. Those that did wear only had them on under the chin. I’d say word is out that it’s over. Local news acts like we need permission to be outside without them. I have not once worn one except in a store. Still seeing people riding in their cars alone masked. The restaurant up the hill has it’s next hearing in June. It seems to me that the courts kicked the can down the road. The mandate will be lifted by the time case it is heard. She will have spent a year fighting and will get a hollow victory.
I don’t now nor have I ever had a problem with mask wearing in a store. Most of the cashiers during the day are older women (never see a guy) I only shop for what I can carry. I always go to express check out so I am not inhaling through paper for an hour-were I, I might feel differently. As is I am in and out. Wearing in a private store a requested cloth is not a big deal for me if it gives cashiers peace of mind. It will be interesting to see how people react to being allowed to show naked face. Karen and Chad might want to hibernate for a spell.

    • votermom says:

mothy, who are you voting for for pa scotus?
and I know to vote yes on the first 3 questions, but what about the one about letting non volunteer fire depts and ems get state loans?

      • Mothy67 says:

Not sure. I have to look into it. I had assumed I wouldn’t be able to vote as I thought it was just the primary. I was a D until oblahblahblah went R, then I, then R to support Trump. Indie again because the rethugs are an absolute joke here. No fight. It was only the ballot measure ads that brought it to my attention I could vote. Don’t generally watch local news because I find it perverted. They salivate over tragedy.
In what I hope is a promising sign I am seeing loads of yard signs for a non presidential election. I don’t know enough about district judges, but I’m seeing the signs in yards which fly the flag and still have up Trump banners. There are no candidate signs in yards with the platitudes- ugh hate has no home here. Love is love. Yadda, yadda, yadda. Dims usually sweep all the local stuff. I think fucking with the kids might have awakened some. The current dim party is not representative of the populace. By the way I heard nothing about absentee, mail in voting for this election!?!?
School board is up. Everyone including the teachers I know is disgusted with this last year. Will they vote? It will be very telling if there is a palpable shift. Doesn’t mean the idiots running the GOP will sieze momentum. My rep is more useless than a dirty dishrag, but he basically runs unopposed. He does nothing, but tote nasty’s agenda.
For what it’s worth the ad run heavily during Tucker urges one to vote yes on all the ballot measures. The measures which are conspicuously absent from local coverage. My understanding is that it reduces Commandant Wolf’s powers. He’s a grandma killing shithead. And oh good Lord that Lieutenant governor. Full fledged communist. Dumb. Like AOC vapid.
My area according to results (cough, cough) went biden. It’s an independent borough which abuts Pittsburgh. It’s very congested for a suburb. No room for chains other than fast food. Tons of small businesses that have been shut down for over a year. Many will not reopen. They hired locals who generated significant taxes. I was shocked to see how people seethed about the town spending yuuuge cash to install cobble stone crosswalks. Beyond the fact that it was just silly (Major repairs had to be done following the snow, salting, plowing and will be needed every spring. Silly bureaucrats thought it would look charming.) People are very mad. Will the anger translate into votes?

    • elliesmom says:

I’ve worn a mask for a few minutes just once, and it was last October. My friend and I booked an outside table at a restaurant for lunch a few days before we wanted to go. It started raining, and they moved us inside. I put a mask on long enough to walk to our inside table. I made a stack of masks out of fabric scraps I had. My plan was to treat them as disposable so on my way through the outside patio I dropped the mask into a trash bin. I wouldn’t believe it if I hadn’t seen it, but another patron fished it out. When I got home, I put another mask in my purse, and the same one is still there.

      • Mothy67 says:

My grocery store hands them out on the way in. Cheap paper and probably plastic. I often take one or use the same one stuffed in my coats. I bet some date back a year.
Yesterday after returning from the gym for a half an hour workout and the 25 minute walk with ankle weights I put on the mask to pick up a few things. I could feel how it was negatively effecting my body. I needed to breathe. My body was screaming for it. I hadn’t had a cooling down period. I after how I felt for five minutes masked following semi vigorous exercise can’t imagine how any half educated adult can insist that kids wear them during sports. I am surprised there haven’t been more sports related deaths.

        • elliesmom says:

I have all of my shopping delivered or do curbside pickup. I get my exercise outside. Most of the restaurants within a 10 mile radius are closed, only open for takeout, or open weekend nights only. My son and I had a hard time finding a place to get even takeout on a Saturday in the afternoon. I’m not defying any masks rules. There’s just nowhere I go I need to wear one.

          • Somebody says:

I have to mask up for all my doctor appointments and treatments. I assume everyone is vaccinated because they mandated anyone working around cancer patients get vaccinated or they transferred them to another department. I assume most of the patients are vaccinated. I had to provide my paperwork since I didn’t go through this hospital.

Vaccinated or not they force us to be socially distanced and masked. Chemo is an example, we each have cubicles. The cubicle has 3/4 height walls with an upper curtain on each side, solid wall in the back and a curtain across the front. Each of these cubes are about the size of an ER exam area. There is a recliner in the middle, but room for staff, IV poles, BP monitors, etc., on either side of the recliner. There has to be 6 feet between each recliner, has to be. Plus the partial wall and curtain.

They will only fill every other cubicle 🙄 Plus I have to sit there masked for hours upon hours. Because of their stupid rules I was told there were no available appointments for chemo until June.🤬. Oh, OK, I’m sure my cancer understands not to grow due to fucking covid, got it. I might have had a bit of a breakdown🤪🤣 I’m getting chemo on schedule they have several sealed off rooms for neutropenic patients and apparently need a manager’s approval to book them🙄 I hope I get one of those, they’re the size of a hospital room with a private bathroom😉 The rules are stupid though. If we’re 6 feet apart and we’re masked why try to deny someone chemo based on arbitrary every other chemo station rules?

During radiation I’m alone in a room, strapped to a table, but I have to be masked🙄 I have to be masked at doctor visits, in the lab, everywhere and anywhere. I’m really sick of wearing masks, but I don’t have much choice if I want treatment. Hell I went through surgery twice with a mask on. If they took it off they put it back on by the time I woke up🙄 They intubate surgery patients so clearly my mask was off at some point.

I was using disposable paper masks, but I’ve switched to thin cloth masks. They basically feel like tee shirt material. I can breathe better with those than with the paper ones. I’d really love to get a mesh one and wear that🤣

I thought leaving the mask on for procedures was a bit odd as you know it was off while out cold. PlusThey are poking you all over but that mask will magically keep everyone safe?

          • jadzia1971 says:

Somebody, go to Etsy and search for “breathable” masks. I have several that are sparkly mesh (the sparkles hide the fact that they are mesh) and/or printed chiffon (the print hides the thinness of the fabric). I wear them everywhere except the doctor’s office and nobody has said shit to me. Goodbye suffocation and mask-induced panic attacks.

I had an unexpected conversation with my son last Saturday. It’s been rolling around in my head all week. He was talking about corporate taxes not being taxes. They’re just business expenses the business passes on to their customers. Other things that make him sound like a traditional Republican. Although I had pledged to myself not to discuss politics over Mother’s Day weekend, I couldn’t resist asking him what had made him vote for Biden? He said, “I wanted the noise to stop.”

I asked him if Trump’s tweets were really annoying enough to vote for someone whose policies are apparently the antithesis of what he believes? His answer startled me. It wasn’t the noises Trump was making that made him vote for Biden. It was his wife’s obsession with hating all things Trump. It was all she talked about at breakfast and dinner. They own a shop, and it was a constant battle to keep her from alienating their conservative customers with signage and anti-Trump products. This Valentine’s Day she was back to decorating with hearts and flowers again. He knew Biden would carry MA no matter which way my son voted so voting for Biden made no difference, and pledging to vote for him gave him some peace at home.

It has made me wonder how many people who have said, “I just want it to stop” weren’t talking about Trump?

I think it depends on if he was dumb enough to empty the trust fund set up through mummy’s will after her passing once he hit a certain age. If he left it and just takes the interest – she gets nada from that and it is his main source of real money and not PR money. But if she talked him into cashing it out and putting it in both their names he might find things less sparling in a lot of ways.

Also depends on if they stay married long enough, if he changes his residency, if any of the weird PR jobs actually pay with cash and not monopoly money and then there are always the rules of his native land to consider. It might be possible that she cannot file in California.

When I walk Ellie and Hank together. I have an extension that turns two leashes into one. The handle for me is on the extension. To keep Ellie “the lead dog”, her leash is longer than Hank’s. It works well. Today I was just walking Ellie so I unclipped one of the leashes from the extension to take just her. I accidentally got Hank’s leash. Ellie gauges how many stairs she can go down before she waits for me to be on the same stair. Today she got too far ahead of my end of the leash since it was 2 ft shorter, and I felt myself falling down the stairs. When my Scouts were teaching me how to cross-country ski, they said, “Fearless Leader, who is trusting a bunch of teenagers with your life, there is only one rule when you are going faster down a hill than you feel comfortable, and that’s JUST SIT DOWN. Better to bruise your behind than break your head.” Well, it worked. I ended up just sitting on a step. I may have a sore behind tomorrow, but nothing broken. When we got back, Ellie stopped at the foot of the steps and wouldn’t budge until I released her leash. The she went back up the stairs, stopping to wait occasionally. On her own terms.

It amazes me how many women with scads of money don’t at least hire a tailor if they’re going to buy off the rack. There’s nothing wrong with a structured jacket and a dress with a floaty full skirt for a 70 year old woman. But your boobs need to come at the right place in the dress and jacket. You can push them up into the dress or lower the bustline on the dress. Or do a little of both. And if your jacket has a button, even if you wear it open, it needs to be able to close. I have a friend who owns a dress shop, and she doesn’t let anyone leave her shop looking like her clothes don’t fit because it reflects badly on her. I sent a friend who has gained a lot of weight this year to her to buy a dress to go to a wedding. She left in tears because she didn’t expect to find a dress that made her feel so pretty at this weight. A pinch here, a tuck there, and it’s a custom fit.

The AZ Miricopa county audit is having their planned one week shut down now. The ballots have been moved out of the arena along with all their equipment. They were put into white semi trucks and taken to another building which I think is attached to the arena. Then the trailers were detached and locked up. Now the cameras are out of the arena and they have 4 cameras on the trailers at different angles. is the link if you want to see them.
While they were moving all this stuff some chubby broad with an attitude and an enormous body guard in some uniform went into the cage holding the ballots that have been audited. She kept bending and crawling around and around the pallets furiously writing stuff down. Part way through her show and after several animated conversations one of the warehouse men came over and handed her copies of I assume a list of boxes on each pallet. She still kept furiously writing. and crawling around which was funny as she had tight, super stretchy jeans on that kept working their way down. At that point another warehouse man and some big wig came over and checked and counted boxes, Ignored her, signed papers and left. Then they took the pallets away and put them in the semi’s trailer. She then walked off with her giant body guard 20 feet behind.
