    Good Morning Everyone. Happy Thursday.

I have one more update this morning.

Yesterday Tom went to see the doctor. She is our primary doctor and I’m glad to see her taking charge of his case.

She went over all the records she received from the hospital.

She took blood for further kidney function tests.

She prescribed a new pain medication.

No therapist though. After checking him and watching him walk, she decided that Tom was already past the point where home therapy would be helpful. Tom was happy about that.

He has to avoid any heavy lifting, get plenty of rest and allow the wound to heal.

He goes back in 2 weeks.

Thanks for hanging in there with me. I appreciate it.

I have a sad because apparently (according to our waiter last night) we are banned from the guinguette starting in a few days. This was a shock because supposedly terraces are exempt from the passport and the guinguette is 100% OUTSIDE. It’s literally a restaurant of picnic tables in the woods on the edge of the river. I feel very bad for their minimum-wage waiters, because surely we are not the only people assuming that we will still be able to go there, and I suspect those waiters are going to be turning away a lot of really pissed-off people come next week.

Do the vaccine manufacturers have the same immunity from damages in France as they have in the US?

      • jadzia1971 says:

Yes, they do. Manufacturer isn’t responsible, government isn’t responsible, employer isn’t responsible, school isn’t responsible. But if you don’t get the injection, YOU’RE responsible.

      • jadzia1971 says:

Yup. I’m pretty sure it’s the same everywhere.

I love how the left is fine with totalitarian mask and drug mandates, and passports, etc. I’m sure they’ll also be fine with the next administration of a different party doing the same, and back and forth, and on we go with an ever changing fun ride of drugs. I’m sure they thought this through. LOL

    • elliesmom says:

I’ve been trying to think of what kinds of mandates the right could impose on the left that would send them into apoplexy. I’m thinking, though, that even if the right mandated something the left really wanted to do, that it came from the right would be enough. If Trump was pushing for mandatory vaccinations and passports, the left would be in the streets. They don’t have any deeply held beliefs except that their tribe is always right- even if their tribe believed the exact opposite yesterday and will change their minds tomorrow.

I know. Essentially it says “The 2020 election is the most secure ever, therefore if anyone looks at it, it is a danger to Democracy and they will be persecuted.”

    We’re number 1, we’re number 1!!!

Greater Jacksonville metropolitan area leads the nation in covid cases…and, and, and, the county with the highest rate is Nassau County! That’s right, we lead the nation in covid cases!

I’d like to thank China, especially the Wuhan lab of virology, bat lady, Dr. Baric, Dr. Fauci, and NIH for their parts in developing covid-19. Without their efforts I never could have been part of the winning team.

Well, I did see the albino alligator safely from behind glass. It didn’t move an inch and looked like one of plastic dinsosaur toys kids collect only 6 or 7ft long. But that’s not why my friend took me to the zoo. We got to give an elephant a bath!

    • lyn5 says:

Sounds like fun! Hope you were dressed for it.

      • elliesmom says:

No, of course i wasn’t, but that was half the fun. Just some soap and water, and it was hot enough we dried off fast. Now I want an elephant. lol She was so sweet.

        • lyn5 says:

I ❤ elephants. I hated her name, but I briefly sat on Bimbo's trunk during an interview with her trainer.

An adult elephant or a baby? Sounds like fun! I’ve been waiting all day to hear what your adventure was. I’m glad you had fun. I’m sure you were full of strange smells when you returned home, what did Hank and Ellie think of your new smells?

          • elliesmom says:

A full adult. She was especially fond of getting her feet scrubbed with a brush. She obviously gets a bath often and knew the routine, Ellie and Hank sniffed around my feet a bit, but mostly they were anxious to get a walk after being home alone all day.

That “adopt an elephant” thing from the WWF is such a ripoff. All you get is a stuff elephant.

My friend is a member of the zoo. They have a list of things you can get to do for an extra donation. She was trying to think of something to give me for my birthday, and she saw this on the list. She knew I’d get a kick out of it, and it gave her an excuse to do it, too. I’ve always been more into animals than she is. I’ve invited her to come with me when I go on my bug counting expeditions but she always declines. She says if I pick turtles next time she’ll come. I’m not sure if she realizes that means hip boots and nets in the swamp. 🙂

Happy Birthday Elliemom! What a unique gift from your friend.

The thing is the families who owned slaves were rich and were well known. If you want to visit their guilt on the sons of slave owners then focus on the sons of slave owners. Don’t get me involved because of my skin color. My family didn’t own slaves, my state didn’t have slavery and wasn’t part of the United States when slavery was an institution.

      • Miranda says:

If there are any ‘sons of slave owners’ living, then they’re probably over 100. Any (American) slave owning ended around 170 years ago.
