    Good Morning.

    I find this very sad.

How could you live with yourself if you put your kid in a clinical trial and bad things happened? It is beyond me how a person could even consider doing as such.

I know, right? Am I taking crazy pills? (Should I be taking crazy pills?) Because when I see the phrase “risk of heart inflammation,” my first impulse is NOT to go out and sign up my kids to be the guinea pigs.

And here is an interesting article on booster shots. I volunteer mine (plus the two original ones that I didn’t use) to go to somebody who actually wants it: https://www.moroccoworldnews.com/2021/08/343762/who-urges-high-income-countries-to-halt-booster-vaccines

        • Mothy67 says:

I said no to HPV shot. When brat turns 18 she can get it then. I wieghed the risks as they wanted her to get it at 12. An unnecessary vax at 12 for a disease that is not that common and no familial history? No.

I just read that until recently, Merck was lobbying to make that vaccine mandatory for school attendance. Having had a mother who died of the long-term effects of cervical cancer treatment, I welcome this vaccine, but Christ on a cracker, talk about something that really is none of the school’s business.

          • Mothy67 says:

I had a friend who died from it. I can see the importance, but there are risks and I think it can be her choice to make at 18 or even now at almost 15 if she wants it. Twelve felt too young.

This obsession with forcing 90% of Americans vaccinated is stupid to me. If unvaccinated can spread Delta (which is BS anyway), the US would have to close its border since like only 15% of the world is vaccinated.

The Gutfeld team must read TCH 😀 Will the blacks and latinos revolt against being banned from public places if they remain unvaxxed? Wake up dear minorities, cough, Jim Crow, cough 😉

Pretty typical article, from a mainstream news source–zoo visitors down 50% (during the high season, which represents 60% of annual visitors) since the “pass sanitaire” went into force: https://www.francebleu.fr/infos/economie-social/pass-sanitaire-50-de-visiteurs-en-moins-depuis-son-instauration-au-parc-animalier-de-sainte-croix-1627637155

Like I said yesterday, it will be very interesting to see how the numbers shake out once this is imposed on restaurants/cafes/bars next week. I almost think it might be worse for the restaurants than for the amusement parks/zoos/other tourist things–it seems to me that if people are willing to be pressured into getting an injection that they would not otherwise want, they would be more likely to do that to visit tourist-type attractions that they would see on their summer vacation (likely prepaid and planned long ago) than to drink coffee (something they can do at home) at a cafe. We live a 15-minute walk from an extremely popular guinguette that has been packed all summer. You betcha I’ll be walking the dog past there next Monday night to check out how many cars are in the parking lot.

    • jadzia1971 says:

And I will NOT be buying “to go” meals from anybody who enforces this bullshit. If I’m not good enough to sit at your restaurant, I’m not giving you my money. Oh, you’re going out of business? Tant pis. After more than a year of these restrictions, with barely a peep from my countrymen (except for the last few weekends), my sympathy for anybody who didn’t speak up is gone.

When I was in the eighth grade and taking French for the first time, a classmate’s mom was French. She used to invite some of her daughter’s friends to “French immersion dinners”. We were only allowed to speak French the entire evening, which stuck us in the present tense for quite awhile, but she would occasionally translate a word or two into English. She had some fun with us by telling us perfectly acceptable French words or phrases were swear words. We’d insert them into our English conversations, and then say, “Pardon my French” thinking we were swearing. I remember she translated “tant pis” as “tough shit”. She was wildly funny and a great hostess. She introduced me to French cooking- something I never would eperienced in my own house. Thanks for the memory that brought me a smile, 🙂

I guess Children’s Hospital of Cincinnati is making the jab mandatory for employment. So in the midst of a plague they will fire nurses? Okay, sure. This push is too much for me. Maybe if they had been honest from the get go I would consider. I just have the worst feeling about this.

    • elliesmom says:

The thing that upsets me is hospitals expected these nurses to come to work at the height of the pandemics when hospitals were full, there were no vaccines, and PPE was in short supply, and they did. Now they’re going to fire them for refusing an experimental vaccine?

      • swanspirit says:

I have to wonder if they are making the requirements for the doctors.

      • Mothy67 says:

Depending on financial situation it might be better to just be fired. There is no data on long term effects and its been whispered it can cause infertility or miscarriages. Imagine being a young woman who dreams of a family and taking that risk. It’s out there Gates wants to control population and he was all over the vaccines.

      • Mothy67 says:

And how many came to work with families at home.

      • Mothy67 says:

Oh and by the way I mentioned to my brother that his girlfriend’s son was a little too forward (wrong word maybe friendly) with a grown man he just met. He said yeah he is kinda needy since his dad died. Thankfully the outside world is still mostly closed, but he could easily be taken advantage of. I wouldn’t have thought to say something, but for what you said. So thankyou. Kid had no boundaries. I should have been more sensitive to the whole family. My baby bro left his wife for her very soon after the suicide. I was angry that I had to meet and play nice. He cheated before leaving. TMI.

  12. Mothy67 says:

I am very very confused. Is this rent thing only for people with Section 8 or any tenant who claims covid hardship? Are they supposed to pay it later? That can’t possibly be right. Water, sewage, trash, taxes mortgage. A retiree who invests in a few duplex properties to get income can lose everything?

    • elliesmom says:

No, not just section 8. under $99,000 income for a single person, $198,000 for a family.

      • Mothy67 says:

Thanks. I looked it up. I was like that seems a bit high, but why should a couple making almost 200k lose life savings because of govt’s decision. Not getting a stimulus, but if this ever ends they are the ones paying it back.

  16. Mothy67 says:

So far today there are 14,100 cases reported today with 61 deaths. Who knows using the PCR test how many of those are bad summer colds. Who knows what the health was of the 61 deceased. Our numbers are much higher because tv is covid, covid, covid. People are neurotic –we have drive thru testing. I know people who get a runny nose and think it has to be death knocking so they run out and get tested. Now the pig fuckers are turning the horror story towards the kids. This is all for political gain. These children lost a year and a half of rites of passage, of grandma, of proper education. They want to keep everyone in a perpetual state of fear. How is it possible that they can tell if its original 19, delta, or delta plus. They can’t.
Lordy though some of my former proggies are never going to let this go. “Numbers are up are you gonna get stuck now?” That’s a no. I don’t trust it and my heart has issues. So no. I am waiting to lose my remaining liberal friends. I lost many over Trump. Oh well.

    • Mothy67 says:

Those numbers will go much higher because reports come in state by state, but unless the keebler elf’s next release is more potent the end totals should be similar. It’s not enough to lock us down again.

Crash will be 10 next week so I asked her what kind of birthday cake she’d like me to make her. She said nothing because she was going to make it herself. Then she found her presents wrapped and tucked under my bed. There was no birthday card with them so she asked me what kind of card I was going to make her, and I told her whatever kind she was going to make for herself. Both things kept her busy all afternoon, but I learned a few things I didn’t know. People over 50 are too old to know the words to Billy Joel songs. Someone who says you make a card by first folding the paper “hot dog” and then folding it “hamburger” have either escaped from a hospital for crazy people or grew up in a faraway land no one has ever heard of.
