Biden administration appears to have stockpiled military equipment for Taliban months before collapse

WASHINGTON — For months, the Biden administration was stockpiling military equipment for the Taliban before the collapse of the Afghan government. The report comes from Reuters who shares that well over a month before the Taliban’s march across the country, the Biden administration was sending military equipment to Afghanistan amid a “planned withdrawal.”

French problems. My house has been a construction zone literally all summer. Now it’s (interior) painting time and I love the painter. He is very good. He is very inexpensive. He is very reliable. Unfortunately, he is not vaccinated.

Why is this unfortunate, you might wonder? Because he doesn’t have a car and has been banned from public transportation because no vaccine proof. So now we chauffeur him to and from home (he offered to get the shot and I was like ABSOLUTELY NOT, if something happens to you I do not want that on my conscience, don’t get it unless you want to do it for yourself), which is like an hourlong round trip twice a day, and it is exhausting.

He should be finished with the house just in time for me to start doing that same commute (this is the final year of it, HALLELUJAH) with the kids when the school year starts. Yay.

    • DeniseVB says:

Friends in Northern Virginia (Loudon, Fairfax counties) are rushing to get their kids vaccinated so they can get back to normal w/o masks and other restrictions………..THEN…….the heavily union influenced School Boards said…let’s be super safe and still require masks, social distancing and other stupid stuff the vacs were supposed to eliminate. The Parents are LIVID ! I swear, the first shot of our next civil war is going to be fired at a School Board meeting.

      • jadzia1971 says:

I would be so pissed if I were one of those parents.

      • lateblum says:

My son, the middle school teacher, has already said that if the school bd, who he worked hard to elect, or the union, demands a return to remote learning, he will take a sabbatical and work construction or paint houses. He is simply disgusted with the politics that rules the lives of nearly everyone in Evanston.
He’s sick of the demands on teachers and kids and parents. He says the Dean of Middle Schools has been there for over a year. That person has NEVER visited even one of the 3 middle schools in that time. He never visited – even on zoom – a team or teachers’ meeting. He hasn’t even engaged with the principals of those 3 schools. His picture is not on the school district website. And most teachers, including my son, don’t even know his name.

He sees how anxious big sister is if she gets “someone’s pronouns wrong”. Calamity can’t tolerate change very well. And last year was a bridge too far. Calamity doesn’t even want to go to school because she fears that situation will change as it had before. Both girls are already so steeped in CRT (that the administration denies is being taught, but that my son can tell you IS) they can teach him.

*BTW, the street that the high school faces was dedicated last Saturday as “Black Lives Matters Way”. High school began on Monday. And the local news aggregator reported that “nearly 50 members of the organizations that promoted this renaming and dedication were present”. This town of 80,000 could only dig up 50 people to witness and celebrate the dedication of the street where the high school stands? So much for all the dyed in the wool liberals. They’ll march and protest and make demands, but they won’t come together in the end. They’re probably looking for yet another cause to “ fight” for.

        Sorry, I got carried away.

I think you’d get a hoot and hollar out of our school meetings. The Karens are castrated by nemesis, myself, and Miriam’s mom. We are an unholy triumvirate. I’m gay, Miriam’s mom is from Basra, nemesis makes black children. We are fuck the fuck off and when you are done fuck off again if you dare pity our kids. I have no idea why at one meeting years ago a rule was being discussed about automatic expulsion for using the N word. This was grade school. Gina stood up and told everyone to stand down. She is my mortal enemy, but no one get’s to define her children. Making her daughter protected class would hurt her daughter in the long run. Gina has grit. Miriam’s mom gets vocal. She was a translator in Iraq. Dad executed in public. She does not, by choice, live in a moslem concubine like Dearborne- because her first thought is Miriam.
Nemesis is my sturdy. We are on with pre school twelve years of my hating her. I’d do anything for her daughter I know she’d do the same. It gets better there is a Taylon. Frequently called Tay. He is Vietnamese. Kid is off the charts math smart. He for real lives above his mom’s nail salon. He would not accept an invite to CMU without”tits” going as well. The school was mortified. They have been hotand cold since age 3. What do schools think they can do? I wish Shay chose a burka. She’s a girl she developed breasts. Boy saw breasts, boy who always pushes the envelope called her tits toadministration. Admin collapses at this new thing called boy meets girl. I get called and am informed swift action will be taken. I said say what? Tay was being Tay. My Shay is not unaware that her body changed. Taylon is her friend for then ten years. I said in a school meeting Taylon don’t discuss Shay boobs. He gifted the idiots a smile and said okay Mr. Cain I will mind my manners. It was pathetic. He never called Shay tits to her face. He is Taylon he was striking a deal.
The local pool has mammoth signs about not smoking. It’s a 500 dollar fine. Muslim men sit on the hill and ogle girls in bikinis smoking. You complain. You are racist. But it is okay to destroy a math prodigy cause he said tits????

      • elliesmom says:

If Taylon and Shay worked in the same company, and he stood up and said he wasn’t going to a conference unless “Tits” came, too, any reputable company would show him the door- as they should. If his parents haven’t taught him it’s inappropriate to call women and girls that publicly, then a good school will. His school life shouldn’t be ruined, but he should be reprimanded as often as it takes before his career is ruined later. What he and Shay call each other in private is no one else’s business, but she should be taught to expect more respect from the men she allows into her life. That’s a lot harder for a school to teach, but good schools try. No man who respects a woman sends that kind of message to others. If Taylon values Shay, he should stop. ❤

Well I think reliable, quality work, a pleasant demeanor and fair prices far out weight a piece of paper but I am sure many of those around me would be horrified.

Then they can pay higher prices for a more compliant painter, ha ha. Mine has been here ALL FREAKING WEEKEND (does he ever take a day off?) and I am hoping that we are done by tomorrow.

I mean that makes sense but I don’t give the Progressives credit for being evil geniuses. I think they are bumbling fools. I could be wrong but I think what we are seeing is just plain Democrat idiocy. But We could be bombing the hell out of what we left behind or like Lara said bombing the Taliban influx from Pakistan now and we aren’t so I guess that tends to look like this arming of the Taliban is exactly what was planned.

I think I may have shared this before but it feels more relevant now.
I got arrested for fighting with a parked ambulance in front of Bellvue in NY. I was on the Whitman’s Sampler. They have court in crazy hospital. I was still high when I saw judge. I agreed to rehab and 9 months in residential treatment. I had to live in a crisis center for two months while I waited for a bed in rehab. I did 40 days in rehab because I had to go to out patient residential. I had medicare because a judge sent me but I had made serious money the year before. I could get no assistance. I was out on Long Island living with convicts and my bank was frozen. You betcha I picked up cans. I had to eat. I got very good at being trash guy. One day I found personal stuff at a bonfire. I put it together in a neat pile and left it by what seemed like an entrance. I went the next Sunday and all the beer cans were left in a neat pile where I had left ID. They left me notes as to where prep school kids held parties. I was doing 300 a day picking up cans.
I doubt I can ever talk about what I lived with those long 9 months. Richie had been a toy in prison. He stopped all hygiene. No one was going to daily rape him if he smelled. He reeked. I shared a room with him. His odor was impossible. There was a guy they dropped off in rehab. He was a real mole person. He was a boy he got off school bus in New JerSey. His mom jumped off the roof in front of him. He ended up living in the subway for 30 years.. I had to, there was no poetry. I had to dealwith what was before me. A handsome kid who I shared a room with went out his first weekend and died from an over dose. He was 22. I had begged him to stay “home”. Home is a funny word. A judge made me live for 9 months with strangers. I ended up loving some of the men. I was the queer in a house with hardcore convicts. I wish I could write.

It’s not showing as more than a rainy day on Monday on my forecasts. The maps have it looking like more of a hit for the Cape and the Islands. I don’t worry about flooding much from the top of my hill. The kids are due to leave Monday morning so if I do get hit, it will just be me and the dogs to worry about. Of course, when they go home my cupboards will be bare. 🙂 Even if I restocked today, they’d still be bare.

World can be twisted Sundown makes me think of my best friend and kid. On top of it all I casually knew Sundown by casual I mean I did a line of blow with Cathy Smith. I didn’t know her. I snorted one line. Song has been interpreted about obsession. Isn’t all love obsession. I think Sundown is a great song.

    • John Denney says:

It is indeed a great song. It’s easily in the range of my baritone voice and is one I often use as a warm up first song at karaoke, as I did just last night.
I tried using the Phantom of the Opera’s, “Music of the Night” as a warmup Tuesday night. Big mistake. But I nailed it last night as my 6th song.

      • Mothy67 says:

Sundown is also about thinking the woman you love is a pain and saying fuck it I love her anyhow. I am stuck in singer songwriter era. Bread? I would give everything I own. Meatloaf Two outta three ain’t bad???? I am a slave to the 70’s. I melt When i hear Will you still love me tomorrow from one of my favorite albums Tapastry. Thankfully Shay didn’t require a tazer to accept Tapestry. I threatened violence over Led Zep. My very favorite song ever is Fool in the Rain. Bug wouldn’t listen. I had to beat her to a pulp okay not really ” well there’s a light in your eyes that keeps shining like a star that can’t wait for the night” she should have been kicked in the shins for not hearing.

        • John Denney says:

I was surprised to learn Bread’s, ” I would give everything I own” was about the author’s father.

Another surprise was Steppenwolf’s,”Magic Carpet Ride”. The starving artist & his wife lived in an unfurnished apartment, & their only furniture was a stereo. The song’s about he & his wife sitting on the carpet, listening to music. 🙂

Rumors are floating that Marjorie Taylor Greene is drafting Articles of Impeachment for Biden. It was a bad idea not to give her a full load of work to do. But here’s a thought- if Biden is impeached, does the Chief Justice have to sit for the trial, or can he delegate it to one of the other justices? Like Clarence Thomas?

He did after that one episode. He has an issue with being smart. He wants to play in the NFL. He’s a little guy!.! Was he wrong– yes. I repeat it’s a very small district but we have two elementary schools and had a Catholic school. There were 17in pup’s class. Three parents did pick ups. When it’s so small it’s almost like family. Tay might be the smartest kid I have ever met. Shay is disciplined. Throw her anything she masters it. She is also arrogant and spoiled. She quit track because boys can practice shirtless and she has to wear a T over a sports bra. I have one rule. You start something you finish. She finished track during covid but she had a point. She’s a record breaking in the same school swimmer. She wears less in the pool than she had to wear at track. Boy is here. Boy is always here. Boy eats. I bought two large pizzas. Boy ate all. Boy is 6″6 and growing. Boy is ranked 23rd in PA for prospects. He is number 1_for quaterbacks. Number 5 in the nation according to one poll. They are kinda gross as a couple if you have no imagination. People want to hate quarterback, if not people Hollywood. I was in the next room Boy’s neighbor amid covid decided to exit on his terms. Boy cried hard. He’s not a John Hughes extra he’s a kid. He cares for my brat. Boy is here now.
