Oh WoW, this will certainly make the crime go WAY down, right? (eyeroll)

    • DandyTIger says:

Not a problem, it will come from all of the US taxpayers instead of locally.

    • lateblum says:

Not only is Chicago broke, it is waaay broke. And the mayor has limited ability to function. She can make all the proclamations she wants, but in the end she can implement NOTHING by herself. Only last week she wanted to sue the gangs for damages done to the city. Now this. It sounds like each week she comes away from a brainstorming session with the next worst solution to run by the “people”. Her desperation is written all over each appearance in front of the mic or camera.
She took office after a contentious campaign against Toni Preckwinkle, the head of the Cook County Board. Preckwinkle is currently the most powerful person in the county and is an adversary rather than an ally of the mayor’s. There is real tension between the camps. And the mayor’s camp is shrinking daily. I doubt that any plan of Lightfoot’s will be acceptable. Most are pretty lame, but should a viable plan emerge from the mayors office, I doubt it will have much support.

      • Constance says:

I’m glad to hear that. From the outside looking in I just can’t figure out what the hell is going on with Chicago. It looks like a nice place. I’ve met several people from Chicago and they are great people and both of them will help others any time they can. Good to know the bad leadership is losing power. If only Seattle could disempower it’s moronic Progressive government. (spell check wants to change disempower to disembowel which would be fine with me too).

        • lateblum says:

Oh, I’m sorry I mis-led. BOTH Lightfoot as well as Preckwinkle are progressives. Lightfoot was the supposed anti-establishment candidate. She was the “breath of fresh air”. Preckwinkle has been a honcho of the Democrat “family” (as in Daley for decades. Neither is any good for Chicago. Preckwinkle just has more of the establishment behind her.

My son and one of the twins flew into Chicago for the other twins’ boot camp graduation. Unfortunately, the new Sailor was put on a next day, 4am bus to her A School in Florida. They only had 5 hours with her, so they did a Lake Michigan drive ? Had great quality time and a lot of fun. They had two more days left and used it up at 6 Flags and downtown Chicago soaking up as much as possible. Had a blast. It’s still a great town as I remember it and a pox on the sucky politicians they keep electing. 😀

        • lateblum says:

I am thrilled they had a good time! There are plenty of things to celebrate about Chicago. and so many of them FREE ! 6 Flags, however is not one of them. but downtown Chicago (the Loop) is definitely a great draw. I hope they got to see Millennium Park and the Maggie Daley park within it. The fountain and the lakefront – which is the best part of all I love the city. Just hate that it’s changed so much from even a few years ago. But, when I was young, and growing up here, I loved it and never wanted to leave. I remember when I came home from college for the first time, I wanted to get down on my hands and knees and kiss the ground. (But, I’m not the Pope – although I think I’m probably more Catholic than he) so I just kissed my dad and got into the car. ❤

          • DeniseVB says:

I saw photos with The Bean, so I knew son was searching out the fun freebies after probably dropping a wad at 6 Flags 🙂

          • lateblum says:

Everyone loves the Bean. The official name is “Cloudgate” don’t ask me why. But it’s the most popular photo-op site in Illinois. Everytime I’ve taken grand baby #1 into the city, she wants to go there first. So glad he found it and the rest of the freebies.

No sign of fall foilage here yet, and my Vermont friends haven’t started flooding me with pics yet. It looks like the season may be a little late this year. Peak in MA is usually Columbus Day weekend.

    • DeniseVB says:

I’m so ready for a season change, probably why I haven’t moved more south by now 🙂 We won’t see colors til November.

      • Mt.Laurel says:

Typically has a longer spring and fall and shorter winter than more northern locales but still all fours seasons .so win win!

Everyone also told me that Eastern Virginia is also that last stand before hitting the masses of bugs that are common through much of the south.

    • lateblum says:

Not much change here, either. At least not color-wise. But yesterday the winds were fierce and leaves were being blown everywhere. The trees that yield nuts for squirrels to harvest are dropping their “fruits” all over. My front yard is covered with nuts that look like buckeyes. The squirrels knock them off the tree and then chew open the pod. I don’t know what they think they’ll find, because invariably the discard both the pod and the nut. So the ground is covered.

      • lateblum says:

We have the most charming family living on the third floor. And their 18 month-old baby is just adorable. How we got so lucky, I don’t know. He is “talking” now and can almost say my name. He loves the squirrels and the flowers and the trees, and especially the nuts. So the front yard is heaven to him.
Well that, and climbing up the back stairs. Yesterday we climbed the back stairs up to the second floor landing where he could view a neighbor’s yard (on the other side of the “privacy” wall) being dug up to build a huuuge swimming pool. The trucks and the noise and the dirt and all the commotion excited him. We are having so much fun as he grows into childhood. My grandgirlies love him so much that during the summer, they came over to go through their old baby toys to give him the toys that they carefully selected “just for him”. Sadly, this family is moving next week. I am so sad – WE in the building – are so sad to lose them. This couple moved in 6+ yrs ago and brought much needed youth and energy to the building. They’ve had a positive effect on us all (except for my crazy neighbor across the hall). They moved in as a couple. They got married a couple years later. They had their baby a couple years after that and when the opportunity arose, they bought and moved into an even larger apartment in the building after the baby was born. But distance from work, the size and needs of their growing family, and being on the third floor led to their decision to buy a house while they could. So we say good-bye next week. I guess that is another change the fall brings.
I’m hoping the family will come back for visits or trips to the beach that their little boy loves so much.

How bout all the skilled trade workers had to take two weeks to get the jab in Australia or not be able to work. There was a 6 quake outside Melbourne. No one to do the work. Australia is freaking scary right now. Cops killed a gay at a protest. Shot him with rubber bullets he fell, cracked his skull, and died.

How Can COVID-19 Vaccines Be Considered as “Safe” Given that More People Have Died From Its Adverse Effects than From All Combined Vaccines Over the Last 20 Years?

  8. jadzia1971 says:

Link goes to article about the government giving a hearty “fuck you” to anybody who might have meekly hoped for a crumb of freedom and announcing that they are trying to keep the vaccine passport going FOREVER.

At this point I am basically rooting for my government and frankly my society to fail. Where the hell are the tumbrels???? I know a whole bunch of NORMAL people here, basic middle-class people with jobs and kids, not radicals or reactionaries or anything like that. I don’t know a single person who supports this bullshit. Yet the “papers please” train rolls on and basically everybody is telling me oh, it’s awful, but you can just fake your way into places with somebody else’s pass. That’s not freedom and I’m not doing it. What the fuck is wrong with the French? Why are my soon-to-be-in-laws, who leave in a freaking Islamic KINGDOM, enjoying more freedom than we are? Like, by now I would literally rather have King what’s-his-name in charge than spend another second under Micron’s jackboot.

    • DeniseVB says:

We’re keeping an eye on you and Australia, the people seem to be rising up and we’re also rooting for you all. I’ve also noticed the world has pretty much gone to shit since Trump left office, that’s why we got Biden, the Globalist Puppet.

      When’s the wedding? ❤

      • jadzia1971 says:

My husband left 2 years ago and we are STILL NOT DIVORCED. Supposedly it only takes six months, but I initiated this process back in May, paid for his lawyer and mine, this should be easy because we aren’t fighting about anything at all, and the papers aren’t even filed!!!! It’s ridiculous. Thanks for reminding me to get on my lawyer’s back about it, which I just did in the middle of writing this comment.

So in answer to your question, civil ceremony hopefully in April. We planned the big party for next December (2022) because of all the covid nonsense and concern about the legal stuff dragging on forever. The hope is that by then, the travel restrictions will have eased up.

That said, I do already have two of my party dresses–H-man sent my measurements down to have them made a few months ago, and a package from his mama arrived yesterday that had the dresses in there. They literally look like princess dresses and I’m pretty sure that the girls were the most excited people in the house. They insisted on putting my shoes on me, Cinderella-style, while I was trying them on. They are both takshitas and they are in my favorite colors–one is a fuschia-based pattern, the other is a royal purple with light green and silver trim. The down side is that because they were made for me, I cannot gain an ounce, like ever again.

Here’s an example of the style. The eighth one down is kind of similar to the purple one:

Biden is a cross between Pinocchio and a ventriloquists dummy. Pinocchio told a lot of lies, and he thought he was a real boy. Biden lies a lot and thinks he’s really POTUS.

Biden is like a ventriloquist’s dummy if the ventriloquist had Tourette’s Syndrome.

      • jadzia1971 says:

Agreed. The only thing I regret after 18 months of this nonsense is that we didn’t move to a more rural area when it came time to buy a house. This is rural-ish but boy would I like to put as much distance as possible between me and the bien pensants who have taken over the cities.

        • 1539days says:

Now, my employer has e-mailed that everyone must provide their vaccination status (like, not vaccinated and don’t plan to) in their HR system. As of now, I will not do that BS unless actual federal legislation in the actual federal register exists. Then, I might do weekly testing or I might say screw it and live cheap for 2-3 years. I’m a saver.

          • lateblum says:

I’m so relieved I was already retired when this plandemic hit. I would have to submit my retirement papers now if I were still at the State University Hospital system.

          • jadzia1971 says:

Yeah, I’m not loving the “disclose your status” paperwork either, which I got hit with yesterday as a prerequisite for a doctor’s visit next week. What is the point of this nonsense?

Also, my sister has COVID. She was quick to “reassure” us that she is fully vaccinated. She’s gonna be fine, though–she’s not that old and no comorbidities and I get the sense that this is just two weeks of Netflix for her.

I can’t walk the doggies yet because I’m waiting for UPS to pick up a package. I can’t just leave it on the porch. The sky is clouding over, and hopefully the UPS guy will come before the rain, or it’s going to be a long afternoon with Miss Ellie. But this is cheery. I love children’s voices.

What is the difference between Orange Catholics (Joe Biden Garbo-Kennedy Rothschild) and Orange Anglicans in Northern Ireland today? Really no difference. Everyone talks to the Jesuit Pope about fake plagues and fake climate eschaton and other elite gay matters. The Jesuit Klan CIA is decompensating.

    • threewickets says:

Orange Catholic in the Kingdom means Jesuit … the white supremacist Ku Klux Klan. In the US we call them the CIA.

    • threewickets says:

Are Irish Nationalists and Irish Republicans Orange Catholics? No, they are Green Catholics. Orange by definition means “with the Rothschild Monarchy in Buckingham and Washington.”

    • threewickets says:

What makes this more complicated is that Israel was/is a PAV Uncle Sam Jesuit Zionism (imperialism) project. An Orange project. Israeli Ashkenazi were/are more often than not French Jesuit/Gypsy migrants to the new State of Israel. But that seems like old spy world history now. The world today is changing at light speed.
