I agree. I doubt Cuomo will ever face charges and be held legally accountable but I hope he is being dealt with by the likes of The Bull for his crimes against humanity.
This made me recall the Yablonski murder. I was young but still recall haw shock reverberated throughout the entire state. It was considered particularly heinous because the hired guns took out the wife and and daughter as well as Yablonski and had planned it that way. The guy behind the hit was Tony Boyle who headed the UMW (United Mine Workers) at the time . Yablonski had run against him and insisted the election was fixed. No other “union leaders” came to Boyle’s defense and he “committed suicide”.

Very cute! Taking notes for next year–I have an enormous garage/cave (long story) that fronts the street and could use some jazzing up next year. On the bright side, it is only ONE story, so maybe it will be a good place to put things like Santa with a sleigh.
So I am running a free daycare today–my neighbor dropped off her 4-year-old, the H-man’s 10 year old doesn’t have school, and I just noticed that the H-man has DISAPPEARED–and I’m getting nothing done. Apparently the nursery-school teachers are on strike. So I put the 10 year old in charge. He feels like the big guy, and the 4 year old is having fun, I think. Little kids’ French is sometimes pretty hard to understand.

Well, according to the purchase documents that are kind of like a title report, before this house was a house (it was converted in 2013), it was a “chai” (winery) for many years, since the 1960s, and before that it was a nightclub. School bus service has ben suspended in Johnstown, a town between where I live and Providence through the end of the month except for special needs kids and the kids that get bussed to the local Catholic school under contract with the town to provide it. Some of the bus drivers may have been exposed to covid, and their test results won’t be back before Christmas. The local news was interviewing parents.
“I think they should close the schools and go remote until the end of January at least. If the drivers have been exposed, then so have the kids.”
“Why do the Catholic kids get a ride to school and mine don’t?”
“While my boss will let me leave to pick up my kids, he’s not going to pay me when I’m not there. I can’t afford this to happen right now.”

I like the good fruitcakes. And one of my aunts made the best one. All of my aunts were fabulous cooks, especially at Christmas time.
Fruit soaked in brandy are so yummy.

My mom was a fan of fruitcake. She and I both liked Panettone.
Panettone is outrageous, and the little Deli close to my house sells it at Christmastime!
I LOVE panettone. You can get it everywhere, in a million varieties, here.
I have a super special post-Christmas recipe for a panettone strata with gorgonzola and proscuitto.
I’m a fruitcake addict. Especially when it has been wrapped in cheese cloth and dripped with brandy.
Martha Stewarts’s magazine, years ago, featured fruit cakes, along with the recipes. I made one, and loved it. You had to make it in Nov. because you wrapped it in cheese cloth soaked in alcohol. Don’t remember if it was rum or brandy. I saved that issue because I thought I would make it again.
Turns out that my hubby doesn’t care for the stuff, and I ended up eating most of it myself.
My mom liked the stuff, and would buy it from the grocery store every year. We grew up eating it, and loved it.
I HAAATE fruitcake. It’s one of the four traumatizing Christmas recipe memories of my childhood, the others being mincemeat, eggnog, and Grandma’s hard sauce.
(Grandma was fun, though.)

There are only two kinds of fruitcake:
1.Festive looking holiday breads with that particular taste that evokes lovely memories.
2.Doorstops posing as fruitcake (roughly 78.43%)
My grandmother (Dad’s mom) made the festive good tasting variety (and that not quite teetotaler was soaking those darn cheesecloth wrapped treats in booze for weeks ahead of time)
My aunts, both sides, all made doorstops. It was amazing that so many could miss the mark by such a wide margin.
My mother went with date & nut bread originally as a complement to her mother in law’s fruitcake as it parried well with cream cheese or butter so more breakfast than desert.

When I had my free trial of SiriusXM, I listened to MSNBC. They thing they always talked about was how important “democracy” is. But democracy is only an element of a free society. There are plenty of socialist regimes that use the word “democratic” in their name but control every aspects of people’s lives. The US has a Constitution that tells the government we are free from them telling us what to do. It’s why other countries without one are basically social welfare police states. They have democracy, but every candidate is on the left.

I love Greg Kelly (Newsmax). On his show tonight, he talked about the many times people protested around and on the steps of the Capitol. Huge crowds – Vietnam veterans in 1971, WWI veterans in 1932, clashes outside the Pentagon over the Vietnam War. Then there are all the times protestors went inside and interrupted Congress, stopped proceedings. But the left never called any of that “obstruction” or “insurrection”.
