Good Morning, what a peaceful, contemplative scene. It’s beautiful, Denise.
Good Morning.
I watched this scene on television last night and the song is still stuck in my head. 🙂
guys and dolls has great songs.
Update on that crazy, flying lady.
White Karen Privilege.
You have to love the daily mail. In a few short phrases they managed to convey what most of the locals msm left out. She herself was walking the isle without a mask, he had taken mask off to eat and that she not only punched but scratched and spit. They did leave out her hissing at everyone like a snake.
LOL: “They did leave out her hissing at everyone like a snake.”
Surber’s post about it:
ITEM 8: Outkick reported, “Patricia Cornwall, a former actress and Raiders cheerleader who appeared in Playboy videos during the 1990s, is the woman who caused chaos on a December 23 Delta flight from Tampa to Atlanta where she went berserk on a man for not wearing his mask. Cornwall, who was taken into custody by the FBI over the weekend for slapping and spitting on the man, appeared Monday in the Northern District of Georgia court where she was hit with an official criminal complaint by the U.S. government.
“Cornwall, 51, is charged with violating Title 18 of U.S. Code for specifically assaulting, beating, or wounding a passenger during a domestic flight.”
Cornwall was not wearing a mask.
From Playboy Bunny to Karen in Cellblock 6 in less than 30 years.

NO JOKE: NASA Hires Priests To Help Prepare Humanity For Alien Contact In Center Of Theological Inquiry Program At Princeton University
The Rev Dr Andrew Davison, a priest and theologian at the University of Cambridge with a doctorate in biochemistry from Oxford, is among 24 theologians, The Times reports. ‘Religious traditions would be an important feature in how humanity would work through any such confirmation of life elsewhere,’ Davidson shared in a blog post on the University of Cambridge site. ‘Because of that, it features as part of NASA’s ongoing aim to support work on ‘the societal implications of astrobiology’, working with various partner organizations, including the Center of Theological Inquiry at Princeton.’

‘Religious traditions would be an important feature in how humanity would work through any such confirmation of life elsewhere’
Let’s see: Every star is a sun. It’s logical to assume that every sun has planets revolving around it, and equally logical to assume there is intelligent life on many of those planets.
The dogma of every religion I’ve encountered asserts that their particular Supreme Being is responsible for creating all life forms. Therefore, there is no need fir NASA to waste tax dollars on priests, ministers, rabbis of any creed to “prepare” us to accept this.
What piece of pork in which bill earmarked the funding? Who pockets the money? And what is the beneficiary of that funding providing to the person or persons in DC that sponsored the bill?
My suspicion is that when we finally DO hear from intelligent alien life, we’ll learn that they’re leaving us rather than invading because we’ve become so fucking stupid over the past 5 years that they’ve simply given up on us.
Expect the progs to introduce another bill demanding that aliens get reparations and voting rights in exchange for teaching mankind to build the pyramids, The Renaissance and every other major accomplishment we ever made despite the lack of available technology in those primitive societies.
While I’m suspicious of where this money will end up, too, I’m not as sure as you are that people will be able to adapt to the reality of life elsewhere. Bacteria living in the soil on Mars, perhaps, but life more intelligent than we are- not so much. We are long way technologically from being able to have manned space travel beyond our solar system so if contact with extraterrestrial life is going to happen in the lifetime of anyone currently alive today, it’s more probable they are going to be finding us. The timing of that is totally unpredictable.
From a religious perspective, all of the Abrahamic religions have as their basis that God created man in his own image and placed him at the top of the heap, so to speak. Just as discovering the Earth was not at the center of the universe created a great deal of philosophical upheaval, discovering humans might not be God’s prime achievement will be disconcerting to Christians, Muslims, Jews, and the Baha’i, who make up a large majority of the population. It’s been half a millennium since the philosophical boat has been rocked that hard, and humans have had all that time to adjust from a geocentric universe to a heliocentric one, and finally to that “You are here” tee shirt. It was traumatic.
Much more of our scientific understanding of the universe is rooted in religious faith than we recognize. For example, most religions start with the concept of “in the beginning”. Some scientists have spent their whole lives searching for the origins of the universe. They’ve settled on the Big Bang Theory, but that doesn’t explain how the laws of physics sprung in place instantaneously so the philosophers fill God in there. An equally plausible theory would be to grasp infinity as a reality rather than just a mathematical concept and accept both time and space are infinite, and the universe has always been here. The issue is the same as the one that made people more willing to keep adding to Ptolemy’s view of the universe rather than accept the much simpler map put forward by Galileo and Kepler. Man had to be willing to change his place in his religious beliefs before he could change his scientific ones. We work hard to make the Big Bang Theory work because we refuse to give up “in the beginning”.
I am suspicious too. I am sure money is lining someone’s pockets, but I suspect that this preparation to meet aliens from outer space is more of an operation from inner space. I am filing this under global warning, right next to global warming.
What better way to move the masses into the brave new global world led by our global masters, than to unite them against a common enemy, or even a common friend?
If we are dealing with space invaders, we have to present a united front don’t we? We have to do away with these silly borders, and countries. We have to present as a planet. And what better way to do that, than scare the bejesus out of the people? Literally, and figuratively.
I trust these sunsabitches as far as I can throw a piano. A grand piano.
Vaguely I seem to recall a short story from The Illustrated Man. Forty plus years ago. I have probably since then interpreted story, molded memory to fit into my view. what I think I recall is that alien genesis stories need not be exclusionary. a god creature would reveal itself to different beings according to needs. one is nut untrue because the other holds verities. How different would meeting aliens be to native Americans encountering Christianity/ It is my understanding that the world’s religions share(d) common principles although they had little if any contact.
I don’t recall the specifics of the short story just my thoughts on it as a preteen steeped in a Catholic life.
My brain is far too limited to process BB Theory. big rock blew up and created other stuff. Where’d the big rock come from?
Would be interesting to read Bradbury all these years later since it sent my head spinning as a boy. Odds are I made up a lot of my memory of it to suit what I believed.
You’re making my point. The Native Americans encountering western civilization was a very big deal to them. It turned their world upside down. Converting them to the prevalent religion of their invaders all but destroyed them. An alien civilization arriving with its own set of beliefs could do the same for us.
If the posits of the Big Bang Theory leave you scratching your head, try the “universe has no beginning” idea on for size. It makes you abandon what science is telling you happened and requires you to give up what you learned in church. Most people cling to both by believing God created the Big Bang. Science and religion are baked into our minds like two strands of our DNA. Even an atheist can’t escape it.
Eh. Science isn’t a set of answers. It’s a process to find answers.
Yes, that’s true. But there is always a “prevailing set of truths” we accept until science refines those truths or changes them. Newton’s Laws were the accepted view of gravity until Einstein refined them. People didn’t hestitate to base their engineering designs on Newton’s Laws in the interim.
Tim brought up an interesting analogy. Would our encounter with beings from other planets be similar to Native Americans meeting the Europeans for the first time? The inhabitants of the islands Columbus reached were doing well enough in providing for their own needs. They had reached beyond their own tribes and had relationships with them, although not always friendly. They had invented some tools to make their lives easier, but they had not invented the wheel, the plow, or the cart. They didn’t forge metal. They hadn’t invented a written language while the Europeans had the printing press and massive libraries. Columbus had firearms. It’s not a matter of intelligence. “Necessity is the mother of invention”, and the needs of people living on small tropical islands are different than people living in colder climates and in cities.
If aliens visit us, they are going to be the ones with the advanced technology, and just as Native Americans had no idea what they were missing, neither will we. While the recent renewed interest by our government in UFO sightings could be a plot to frighten us into moving faster into a global government, there’s always a chance it’s not.
This reminds me of the Greg Gutfeld theory of alien cows that would probably be slaughtered and eaten because they’re cows. Even if that doesn’t happen, aliens would have “alien” value systems and would have to be willing to put up with our potentially offensive behavior.
What we have going for us is that any extra-terrestrial life would not really need to conquer the earth for resources or food (like in V or Independence Day) and it wouldn’t even be worth it unless intergalactic travel was impossibly fast and easy. More likely, aliens aren’t coming to Earth unless we are at the point of making intergalactic travel a reality. The worst case is probably some group of aliens that want to indoctrinate us into their value system (like in Stargate).
Have you ever seen the first X-files movie/ I thought it was kinda fun. The aliens are working with a secret society of elites to colonize the Earth. Going to use bees to transmit the virus that turns us into hybrid slaves. Only the elite will be protected. Scully gets stung. Secret societies. Conspiracies. Alien ship docked under South Pole ( Lerch aka John Kerry recently visited) Reminds me of the vax. Wouldn’t shock me to discover most democrats are lizards.
For those of you who like science fiction, Babylon 5, unlike Trek, is so interesting in that it does address the issue of how Earth’s religions dealt with first alien contact, and also shows the new religions that popped up in response. If you’re into that kind of thing, which I am.
Rep. Gohmert: Fauci must be “held responsible” for unleashing mass death on the world
During a recent appearance on Fox News, Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Tex.) segued from talking about the border crisis in his home state to calling for fake government “doctor” Tony Fauci to finally be held accountable for committing crimes against humanity.

Conclusion Patients who initiated isotonic saline nasal irrigation after a positive COVID-19 PCR test were 19 times less likely to be hospitalized than the national rate. Further research is required to determine if adding povidone-iodine to irrigation reduces morbidity and mortality of SARS-CoV-2 infection.

I do the saline nasal rinse when I come home from errands or appointments. I always rinsed nightly when I worked.
Sinister Sites: The Georgia Guidestones
The Georgia Guidestones is a mysterious monument on which are carved ten “commandments” for a “New Age of Reason”. The first commandment? Maintaining the world population under 500 million people. Another sinister fact: the authors of what we now call the American Stonehenge are still a “mystery”… except for those in the know. We will look at the numerous features of this monument, its message calling for a New World Order and explain how it is the work of an occult secret society.

Brandon Tatum is dissing Trump’s stance on vaccine. Love this response.
Let’s go, Brandon Tatum, is limiting his Instagram comments.
Leftists love police brutality now.
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: although I’m not exactly a poster child for healthy romantic relationships, I have found that the dudes who treated me the worst were always the leftys.
Good Morning,ty Denise for such a peaceful photo. ❤
Cape Cod in winter is a totally beautiful place. We used to check into the Daniel Webster Inn in Sandwich at the beginning of the Cape on a Friday night. Order dinner in front of the fireplace in our room. We’d get up early Saturday morning and drive the whole length of the Cape to Provincetown stopping for walks along the beach. After lunch in Ptown, we’d drive the other coast back. A late dinner in the Inn’s pub, brunch in their dining room on Sunday. Then back to work on Monday. Much more restful than the same trip on a summer weekend.
I love the beach in the winter 🙂
I was watching Condor last night and a scenerio was presented by a character. I had had the hypothetical presented to me in different wording. I assume it is a psychological testing tool.
Anyone familiar–
the one I was presented informed me that I was operating a trolley and had to make the choice of diverting the vehicle off tracks to avoid killing five but in doing so I would kill one person not on the tracks. I got to decide who lived or died. Was one life less important than 5? I opted to not sacrifice the one for the greater good. The manner in which it was presented to me a long time ago didn’t provide a lot of time to analyze choices just a few minutes.
Is anyone familiar with the exercise? I am curious as to what the choice says about me.
What would you do? Wonder if my choice would have been different had it been children versus a senior. It has me thinking about the Keebler elf playing god. How many healthy lives have been sacrificed and/or damaged because one man with a pulpit was given so much power. How blindly so many follow his words as ever changing as they are. the emphasis by media that we are all in this together (that gives me the creeps).
Leftists love the hero elf.
P.S. The trolley belongs on the tracks.
The dilemma is presented in lots of different ways. Sometimes it’s a baby carriage that may or not be empty vs an old person. Your own dog drowning or a person you don’t know. In the case of the trolley, keeping it on the tracks is less likely to harm the passengers than deliberately taking it off the tracks. You have taken on the primary responsibility for the safety of your passengers when you accepted the job. The idiots on the tracks are candidates for the Darwin Awards. The baby carriage one is the only real dilemma for me. Ellie vs. a stranger is a no-brainer. 😉
In high school, we got into groups and had to choose from a group of ten people based on descriptions. I just chose the first ones on the list and made up justifications.
I liked the response where some little girl drew a route that hit both sets of people 😀

Go to YouTube and look up the episode, “The Trolley Problem” episode of The Good Place. Hilarious AND educational!
I’ve been de-sistered. My sister (the first born) has been a family bully her whole life, and it’s gotten worse after the death of both parents. She always belittles me, and yesterday I didn’t take it. After the spat, she emailed me as though nothing happened. SMFJBH.
Nothing wrong with boundaries.
❤
Pretty sure I’ve been de-sistered too😉 They ignored me Thanksgiving, ignored my BD too. The one in CA sent out a group text to everyone saying Merry Christmas. I saw the sister that lives here briefly at my brother’s party, but she had to leave for an “emergency”. My brother went out of his way to have lunch with me on my BD and to let me know in the battle of the sisters he is squarely in my corner.
Just before Thanksgiving I dared to respond to one of my CA sister’s group text she sent to the sibling group chat. It was an unhinged rage text filled with inaccuracies and hate, basically a vile prog rage tweet about Trump and DeSantis. She lobs those bombs periodically whenever something triggers her or she’s looking for a fight. We typically ignore them, because you can’t argue with her, she plays by her own rules and employs her own facts🙄 My brother responds sometimes with memes. My sister that lives here sometimes responds in a cowardly way, like I’m really not a racist because I want the border secure and then lists reasons she’s not a racist🙄 Please believe me I’m really, really not a racist🙄 My responses range from mockery to arguments and everything between. All in all though if she lobs a bomb we generally tend to ignore her.
I decided to fact check her rage text and admittedly parts of my fact check were sarcastic. I stand by the fact and still believe that she is not so stupid that she believes Governor DeSantis controls Florida’s airspace. She knows better, she was just spouting angry BS and I called her on it. The devil made me do it. My sister that lives here called me immediately and demanded I apologize…..let me think 🤔, nope. Mind you her text was nasty, nasty, everything is Trump’s fault (the border), DeSantis is all talk and no action, we’re stupid for listening to or believing either and we’re cult members. On this particular day we were not insurrectionist, but we have been in her esteemed opinion.
I’m tired of her crap, ignoring her does nothing. In her smug mind she thinks we have no counter argument. If CNN says the sky is pink and purple polka dotted and it’s Trump’s fault then by George the sky is pink and purple polka dotted and that evil MFer Trump did it. She calls him an evil MFer or lying MFer all the time. She refers to Melania in even worse terms. She honestly has TDS so badly she needs professional help. If this past year has taught me anything it’s that life is short. I no longer feel the need to walk on egg shells around her. If she sends out another rage text I won’t just fact check her, I’ll tell her she needs professional help or medication or something. I’m just done with her rage induced screeds. Done, finished.
(((Somebody)))
Good for you!
Yay for you!!!
Wow–my sister is a righty but she hates like a lefty.
I know! I was shocked when you said that.
I honestly cannot recall someone on the left complaining that they were defamilied or defriended by RWs. It always seems to be the other way – Lefties booting out RWs.
Always.
I hear a lot of those kinds of claims on the Internet (check out the narc parents subreddit if you dare) but always figure that there is more to the story. IRL myiq and lateblum are right.
I feel so bad for you, and for everybody here who is dealing with similar crap. The only reason I haven’t been unpersoned by my family and close friends, I’m pretty sure, is that they are so far away that there is NO chance for politics to come up in conversation, and they have no idea what kind of cases I take for work.
Sorry lyn
❤
I think I’m in the de- sibling set. I spoke to my sister, on Christmas, and she was just hostile, which isn’t unusual for her. My brother was going to visit for Christmas, but changed his mind for various reasons, one of which was ” the political differences “.
I had a very peaceful Christmas.
I had a peaceful Christmas too and quite frankly I’m glad they blew me off at Thanksgiving. We had plans for 3 get togethers that week, my CA sister and her family were here. The exact dates and times had not been finalized when I dared to poke the bear. All future communication from me was ignored from that point forward.
I felt like if they’re that shallow after I’ve spent the year fighting for my life then screw them. My brother did attend the gatherings and my sister from CA was all over him about different things. He said he pulled stuff up on his phone and it didn’t matter. Like she insists the AR in AR15 stands for assault rifle. He said she’s nuts, you know that right? She’s nuts and if X (other sister) wants to indulge that or live in denial that’s on her. You did nothing wrong sis, hell you treaded a lot lighter than I would have.
BTW, my brother’s GF’s parents took mine and hubby’s spots for a particular event, so I found out when I met them Christmas night. My CA sister was spouting off to them about ME, total strangers. They told other people in their family, so total strangers are coming up to me at this party and telling me I was right or thanking me for standing up. Why in the hell would you discuss such things with total strangers you just met for the first time? My brother is right she’s nuts.
Your sister and others like her are so crazy that goodwill or even good judgment are foreign to them when it comes to political differences.
Listen to your brother. He’s right.
Even so, I’m sorry this is happening to you.
Btw, as you’ve read, some in my own family (my BIL, DIL, and some others) behave similarly toward me. I’m not imagining it. Despite my thoughts about what is happening or why, it is still shocking and painful.
😦
I’m sorry.
The other reason that my family hasn’t done this to me is that I am a PRO at my mother’s very Midwestern way of handling conflict:
Smile and nod, smile and nod. Take a drink every time you smile and nod.
This approach got her through 30 years of family Christmases with crazy in-laws. (Oh, the stories I could tell.)
That sounds nice, Swannie. I do plan to call soon.
Good that you are taking care of yourself. Your primary goal is to remove/minimize negativity and negative people from your life, and add/increase positivity and positive people into your life.
This message is not only intended for lyn5 and Somebody, but everyone on TCH!! Do what is best for you!!
❤
It works for me ! I grew up with a text book example of family dysfunction, the more distance I put between me and them, the happier I became 😀
My sister is in Florida. She left a message on my answering machine today, and I responded with an email that said, “Please email me instead of calling.” She gets upset that I don’t drop everything when she calls. She talks about herself and criticizes everything and everyone else.
❤ My sister is the first born who hates her siblings. I'm tired of her personal attacks, and I'm the one who has middle child syndrome. LOL..
LOL🤣
My CA sister is the middle sister. I’m the baby girl but my brother is the actual baby, he’s almost 9 years younger than me. So that technically makes me a middle child. My sisters were in high school when my brother was born.
Now that’s a baby brother! I still don’t know what middle child syndrome is. My sister was a teacher who became a school librarian.
Unequal justice …
😀
So, the CDC has just dramatically lowered its estimate of the omicron percentage. It’s 22.3 percent instead of 72 percent.

I’m considering hiring myself and my new Disney Villains tarot deck out to provide Covid numbers. I think I could beat their accuracy.
I think you could😉
I just got a phone call that my insurance company denied approval of the imaging tests I was supposed to have. Right there in the denial paperwork they list the criteria, I meet 2 of them🤬, I’d meet 3 if they hadn’t denied ALL imaging requests. My doctor had a peer to peer appeal today and they still denied it.
There is disagreement between doctors as to whether flashes seen on tests in September was residual cancer or not. Retesting in December was supposed to determine my path. This is all internal and microscopic if there is residual cancer. There is nothing an exam can discover. This is in the area where my groin lympnodes were removed that were positive and then they radiated the area. It’s internal, but if it is cancer and it gets into the remaining nodes it will spread.
I am so pissed. Do they expect me to go to a soothsayer or what? Only imaging will show if there is something there or not🤬 Imaging should be part of my routine follow up anyway.
I’m so sorry Somebody…
Just curious, did your doc get a peer to peer with a fellow who practices the same specialty? I ask because my doc on peer to peer has on more than one occasion found the peer to not be the same specialty. First question now on any peer to peer review…what is your specialty and board qualifications?
The peer to peer was my gyn/onc and a cardiologist representing the insurance company. I’m moving up in the world, the last person that denied me was a wound care specialist nurse🙄 At least this one is an actual MD
You know that there is a special place in Hell for these bean counters in the health insurance industry. It’s not unheard of to get an FNP. Cardio guy? Interesting. It should be a gyn/onc md answering on that peer to peer. I’m so disgusted with the bs insurance gatekeepers push.
Well that answers McNormans question and my follow up. The insurer has very loose definition of peer to peer.
So really bad news is denied but the not really good is you are being jerked around by a more qualified insurance bot? 😵
The saddest part of all of this is that a few years ago, it would have been unheard of to have someone unrelated to the specialty doing the review. Standard of care does not apply to all things equal. It’s a guideline which unfortunately has become more strictly adhered to because of litigation. There are always gray zones which should always be addressed. Nothing is black and white when it comes to the mysteries of the human body.
So sorry. McNorman makes an excellent point that often peer tp peer is not as balanced as one would hope and is often between your specialist and the health insurers medical director. In your case, the peer really needs to be someone with the appropriate and relevant qualifications and experience that match more closely to your specialist. Some insurers refer to as an external review which should match specialty to specialty.
Ditto. External reviews are not uncommon but they must be requested. I ran several circles over a period of 18 months with United Healthcare once. They finally relented after three attempts at offering other subspecialists for review. Most physicians and their staffs do not have the time to keep up with their games. Many times, they just give up pushing. It isn’t good business sense. It’s also one that can make you want to leave the office and run to the ocean.
I am so sorry, Somebody.
I can’t even think of a reason-based response to this. I’d try another doctor to doctor appeal with a lawyer present. And I’d demand to have it be a doctor with the same credentials and expertise as your doctor. If the insurance co. will not offer a medical expert in the same medical field, then I’d take it to the court system. This doesn’t even seem to be an ethical position for the insurance to take.
What an oxymoron, health insurance and ethics.
The other way around the gatekeepers is to find out what the “prompt pay” charge would be at any of your local facilities. IOW cash pay. All facilities will have some type of prompt pay discount fee for any study. It saves the facility from having to bill and wait for the insurer to pay so they sometimes have very good prices. Get the CPT codes from your doc. Call around and shop. I live where this is very common as we have many uninsured or foreign patients who can only pay with cash. In some cases, our patients have actually done far better paying cash rather than going through a very high deductible which will only increase the following year due to their use of “benefits.” Sorry, the word benefit makes me cringe.
Great idea, McN.
Peace of mind is priceless if you can pay it. 🙂
I’m sure I can do the MRI out of my own pocket, but PET scans are really expensive. They denied both. I sort of expected the PET, but the MRI surprised me. It seems the insurance doesn’t think I need any imaging
So sorry, somebody, but I pray that these insurance assholes will get their asses kicked tomorrow.

Wicked man. Politically motivated. Another who will find his “special” hot seat in the afterlife.
Found this on the Klown’s Twitter reply feed. LOL.

Dems are clearly hunting Trump supporters and most anyone not in their cult. Maybe time to hunt them back. They move to our states, we can cancel them like they cancel us.
