That is beautiful, Denise! I don’t ski, but I understand why people do.

    Good Morning.

I went skiing once. It was enough for me. 🙂

    I love the picture though.

I grew up in a neighborhood with quite a few skiers. I never made it past the bunny hill. I did much better snow shoeing but really excelled at hot chocolate while reading by the fire in the lodge.

    • taw46 says:

A friend and I tried it once on an icy mountain in NC. Lots of falling starting with getting off the ski lift, my friend’s ski went sliding down the mountain, I stopped with her. We sat and laughed (cried) about how we would get down, maybe roll down. I felt much better when we reached the lodge and had a drink, lol. Sadly, I never tried it again. She did, she and her boyfriend went skiing in Taos on LOTS of powder and she loved it.

      • Mt.Laurel says:

I have always heard that the light powdery snow makes all the difference. I do know when we would occasionally get dry snowfalls rather than the typical heavy wet snow that it was much easier to shovel and the dogs loved romping around it but made lousy ⛄️.

      • DeniseVB says:

That was my mistake too, learning on an icy mountain in Virginia, which they call Spring Skiing season, lol. Just not the same as out west.

    • Constance says:

I love skiing but haven’t done it in 15 years. We always took ski vacations to Whistler BC and I would ski a couple of days in the week. I never got past cruising on groomed slopes but it is really beautiful up there. My kids ski the black diamond by Canadian standards hills. The lodges and ski in ski out hotel lobbies are fun too. great memories of family vacations.

Looks as if we are going to have more than a bit of that white stuff here in swampland today. Everyone including the feds called closures early yesterday.

Now the Karen’s are upset that the schools caved and kids are getting a snow day and not doing distance learning while the covid obsessive bots insist the schools really closed because so many teachers have covid they could not staff classes and are using a suspiciously convent snow storm as cover.

    • Mt.Laurel says:

Convenient. Darn auto correct. Of course auto correct might have inside info that nuns are behind the snow conspiracy.

    • swanspirit says:

Snow is predicted for my area too. But there is really no telling what we will get. The temps have dropped from 70s over the weekend, to below freezing today. It is cold, raining, and very windy, as I type this, @ 8:10 am my time on the east coast. We could get snow that sticks over ice, or icy mush, because the ground us still warm, or just sleet. Even if it snows, it will probably melt by tomorrow. I haven’t seen snow yet, but who knows what will happen? Certainly not the weatherman!

      • DeniseVB says:

We’re on schedule for snow at 1 pm. LOL, 76 yesterday, right now 43 and raining. Weird, but my state has always been a little “hate the weather? Just wait a minute…” 😀

      • Mt.Laurel says:

Snow changed to rain 3:00 -4:00 am. The plows were out on the street and the cats woke me rushing to get to the window to watch. So will see how much comes down. It’s in the low 30s so hoping not much as it will be heavy to move and it is to freeze overnight . Almost 70 yesterday and we are to drop to teens tonight.

I think the early closure calls were because it was too warm to pretreat so the coating would not adhere well. Plus With the storm starting as rain any pretreatment that did stick would wash away. Looking at the traffic app the roads are a mess as it very slushy and slick.

      • Constance says:

Thank God Seattle is back to our usual drizzle and our snow is 95% melted away. I have been hanging out at my old house ,which is now my sons house. for the last 10 days so I could be comfortable and he had to come and get me in the skiing car as my Prius doesn’t do snow with an ice layer underneath. When it was 15 degrees out at night there was just no way to keep my condo warm since my blinds aren’t here yet. So far I have two chairs, a couch, blinds, shelves, space heaters all not here yet! My TV took 2 months to straighten out. What a shit show.

It’s another dreary day here in the snow capital of RI. While it feels like it could snow, there’s no precipitation in the forecast for today. A brief respite from the gloom tomorrow, and then a warm rainy Wednesday. There’s snow on the agenda for the end of the week, but lately a forecast more than two days out hasn’t been reliable.

    • DeniseVB says:

Aren’t pilots and secret service aware of weather? Should have rescheduled the flight to avoid this, the mess has been predicted for awhile now. Can’t they pull up to a building with a jetway? Idiots.

      • Mt.Laurel says:

The public schools here are notorious for making decisions after the snow has started and first round of buses are already on the roads and they all called it off yesterday. early yesterday. I cannot imagine that they had super secret info not available to the WH. Heck, the Fed Gov announced it was closed early last evening with telework for non essential. Do these people not talk to one another or did someone insist on returning for show.

It was how the media set about to discredit Robert Malone that has made me decide to take another look at the people they’ve labeled “crackpots”. I started paying attention to politicians like Marjorie Taylor Greene. Looking for economists they’ve discredited, and now putting a lot of time into reading Robert Kennedy’s book. Malone is a brilliant man with a talent for being to explain how things work in plain language so ordinary people can understand them. That makes him doubly dangerous if the goal is to keep people uninformed.

Great! I’ve noticed that Progressives are big at inserting their narrative into congressional record. This should really piss them off.

The Shit Stirrers are going all in for the Jan6 fake insurrection.

    • DeniseVB says:

Yeah, what’s up with that? Just watching my local news and they were discussing the Jan 6 anniversary like it was 9-11. Bullsh*t.

      • lateblum says:

Treating Jan. 6 as breaking news is happening all over the radio and tv news today. The “top of the hour” news has been Covidiocy every hour of every day for the past 2 years. Today when I awoke, the first thing I heard – in lieu of numbers of cases, deaths, hospital beds – was about the anniversary of the “uprising known as The Insurrection”.

        It is absolute bullsh*t.

The sun is still out there! It made a cameo today. It’s in the mid 20s. I can handle the cold. It’s day after day of grey skies that drain me.

    • Constance says:

The sun is nice but having been raised in Seattle I can usually handle the gray skies. They feel protective to me. I think the secret might be to decorate the house as a cozy, peaceful hide away. You need really comfortable furniture regardless of how it looks, warm throw blankets with lots of texture. I have my collection of Luminara flameless candles set to go on at sunset. Then pile up books so you can read. also acquire a selection of friends to drink wine or beer with. You’ll find yourself longing for the dark days in the middle of summer.

The day someone from #January6 #InsurrectionDay recounts terrifying sounds of multiple gunshots from armed assailants shooting-up #CapitolHill is the day I will listen to their “trauma”. Everyday Americans go to school & work in worse conditions, w/out police letting them in.

This is huge! We need January 6 defendants who won’t take plea bargains, who will go to trial and, with good attorneys and good strategy, put the FBI and the US government itself on trial.

realmarjoriegreene @dancrenshawtx is posting creepy stalking pictures of me and harassing me to co-sponsor his Big Tech bill that he says stops censorship, but his bill actually gives more protection to online Porn companies.

      No thanks Dan!

We need to get rid of Porn.

I am busy reading other Republican’s Stop Big Tech censorship bills as well as looking into other ways to stop the enemies embedded in Big Tech companies.

Gosh and to think all this started when I just disagreed with him when he said FEMA should be doing mass covid testing and working in hospitals.

All I said was NO, we don’t want FEMA doing any of that and hospitals need to hire back unvaccinated HCW.

      Then POOF!

      I’m kicked off Twitter!

Did I offend Dan’s globalist friends at the World Economic Forum that are 🤷‍♀️
