Almost looks like its a picture postcard of the Alps. We are so lucky to have such a wide variation in natural beauty in this country and so few seem to appreciate.

OK, so now I am concerned. I would always see Dora commenting early in the morning, so I went back as far as June 8, but I don’t see any comments. All I did was look at the first few comments each day, I didn’t go all the way through the post.

This is one of the things that makes me crazy. It is a process permitted by the Constitution, and the Republicans had a corresponding Senator to force a discussion. That was happening when the “riot” occurred. All the more reason to suspect a Deep State action that day.
I never see the media explaining this process to the people. And the goal wasn’t to install Trump that day, it was to delay the process of certifying Biden votes until there was a discussion about why the states sent alternate electors, to look at the election process in those states.

Maryland has abortion laws that allow termination of pregnancy up to viability of the fetus, which is to determined by a doctor, and a minor’s parents have to be informed if an abortion is to be performed. The only exception to the viability condition, is if the mother’s life is in danger.
My second pregnancy was high-risk, and Elliesdad had a long talk with my ob/gyn about what happens in a pregnancy that is endangering the life of the mother. He explained that when a child is wanted, there are no late term abortions to save the mother’s life. There are premature deliveries where every effort is made to save both the mother and the child. He had never encountered a situation where an abortion was less threatening to the mother than delivery once the baby hit viability. Sometimes the baby didn’t make it, but it wasn’t for lack of trying to save it. I had already decided to carry the pregnancy as long as I could. My doctor’s reassurances to Elliesdad that he wasn’t going to lose me to save the baby brought Elliesdad on board. The babe and I made it to 34 weeks, and we’re both here.

There is no federal law regarding abortion anymore. I’m not a lawyer, although when I was 10 that’s what I wanted to be so that’s the same thing, right? I would guess that going forward unless congress passes something the Supreme Court would accept, women in the armed forces would be governed by the state they’re stationed in? Is there something in the Uniform Code of Military Justice about abortion?
Most military bases have hospitals and doctors on the base. I assumed he meant the military intended to continue providing unfettered abortions on military bases. Military members can go to off base doctors using tricare, that would be governed by the state.
What I don’t know is if doctors that practice solely on the base have to be licensed in that state or are they exempt? Teachers, for instance have a DOD certification. I used to know several mitary doctors, but that was years ago.
Doesn’t that go against the Hyde amendment? The military is federally funded.
OK, military doctors have to be licensed in some state, but it doesn’t have to be the one where their base is located. They can’t moonlight or admit patients to local civilian hospitals unless they’re licensed in that state.

It took a long time for the Court to get to this decision. It means a lot, but there’s something else that this represents.
There are some rules about genetic manipulation in the US and other countries. Others ignore them (China) and still others in the US (Fauci) find ways around them by working at the viral level. Create the disease and the cure and everyone is forced to take the cure. Imagine how COVID demands would have progressed had the Obama-era SCOTUS been in charge.
Genetic alteration of children in the womb is only marginally possible now and has the possibility to be the greatest threat to human civilization. COVID also taught us that nature has a way of asserting itself regardless of our plans. Altering genetic code and finding out generations later that some “scientist” was an idiot and doomed humanity to extinction is something I’d like to prevent.
I think the next frontier in legal rights is establishing fetal rights not only to live, but to maintain the genetic code they were created from.

Those issues are ludicrous. Before Roe in 1973, several states had laws on their books making abortion illegal. They’ve neglected to remove those laws so those became the laws of the state today, but few of them will make abortion illegal for long.
