    https://www.unilad.co.uk/news/trans-athlete-faces-backlash-after-beating-girl-skateboarding-contest-20220627

A transgender skateboarder has received criticism after she beat a 13-year-old girl to win first place in a New York City skateboarding tournament.

Ricci Tres took part in the women’s competition at the Boardr Open street skateboarding event at the weekend, when she took home the women’s title as well as $500 prize money.

A total of six females took part in the event, with 13-year-old Shiloh Catori, from Tampa, Florida, winning $250 as she came in second place for her performance.

Someone tried to steal my identity and collect unemployment assistance benefits in Illinois over a year ago. I had to lock my credit, and notify the state. They said they had received hundreds of thousands of false applications and had a department dedicated to helping people whose identities had been stolen, and they offered a list of very specific steps to take after reporting the theft. In fact, if I remember correctly, it was the state that first notified me that someone was trying to collect under my name.

Don’t I know it! Bailey, one of the Republicans running in tomorrows primary, filed suits against him several times to stop the masks, the remote learning, the masks in schools on children, etc. He was just endorsed by PDJT last week at the rally in western Illinois. He is making the Dems nervous. The tv ads are one after another after another. A local news poll just reported that Bailey leads the Rep candidates by double digits. But it’s only the primary. The Big Guns will be drawn after tomorrow aiming everything at him.

Richard Irvin, the man bankrolled by Ken Griffen of Citadel (financial), is a D in R clothing. Griffen bankrolled Irvin to the tune of over $62 million and hates Putzker. Irvin had been leading early on until some of his own flaws were highlighted – by the democrats – out of fear. Now Griffen, the wealthiest man in Illinois, has decided to take his billions and finally move his company and his family to Florida.

Good morning! I’m in a living dangerously mood this morning. I’m sitting outside not undercover waiting for the rain to start. The way the wind is blowing and the smell in the air says it’s not far off. This is the last full day the kids will be here for this visit. The longer they sleep, the less time I have to play rainy day camp counselor. A rainy day when we’re all tired is more challenging at the end of a visit than one at the start. I’m out here because all three dogs come out with me. No jumping in bed with the kids or barking to be let out. Hank is asleep on his outdoor doggie bed, Ellie is asleep on my feet, and the beagle is searching for bunnies. Peace and quiet reigns before it rains.

Making today a baking day might have been an option, but last night the kids insisted we make some cookies after dinner. i was exhausted and just went along. I set Crash up at one end of the counter with what she needed to make frosting for the cupcakes she had already made. I put her brother at the KitchenAid and opened the doors to the cupboard over his head where all of the baking supplies are. I turned the oven on to 375, pulled up a kitchen chair, poured myself a glass of wine, and told them I was only available for consultation. Clean up supplies were under the sink, and the dishwasher was empty.

We ended up with 3 dozen chocolate chip cookies, and a dozen dark gray cupcakes. Crash decided to see what would happen if she mixed yellow and violet food coloring. She decided it was “gross”. She kept adding other colors to try to fix it, but it just kept getting “grosser and grosser”. She was going to cry until she saw I couldn’t stop laughing. She decided to make one last attempt to make them look better by sprinkling some of her brother’s chocolate chips over the top. I didn’t have the heart to tell her she only made things worse. Instead I assured her they would be delicious. What’s not to love about cake that gets its name from the whole bottle of red food coloring you dump in it and bunny poop frosting? These may be my most memorable birthday cupcakes ever!

They cleaned up together with Crash nagging at her brother about “tidy as you go”. I poured myself a second glass of wine, grabbed my beach read book, and took the 3 dogs to bed with me. When I got up this morning, there were fewer cookies, an empty bag of microwave popcorn, and the Sorry board set up on the kitchen table. The dishwasher had been run. They must have done a search for dirty glasses before they pushed the button.

      • Mt.Laurel says:

        Close. It’s the 29th.
Its one of those dates that is very easy for me to remember because of other associations.
In this case, because it’s the same day as mine! 😊

    • lyn5 says:

      Happy Birthday, em! ❤

    • Somebody says:

Well happy early birthday! Rainy days can be tough. I’ve tried different things, pro-tip, just say no to crafts unless you think Crash will maintain her tidy as you go attitude. I’ve never had such luck with my grandkids.🤪 They love baking projects in theory, but usually abandon me fairly early which leads to me recounting “The Little Red Hen” which prompts lots of laughter. Also, one year they gave me my very own “little red hen”, quite lovely made glass.

Morning board games followed by an afternoon movie with snacks has been my go to. Kids tastes vary though, might not interest your grandkids. If the rain isn’t too bad I’ll troll Target, buy them some little something and end up in the Cafe with cake pops. Again, my grandkids are all girls so shopping appeals to them.

No matter where the day takes you, enjoy your final day with the grandkids.

      • elliesmom says:

They told me, “We’re tired, and we’re fine with amusing ourselves today.” Crash made herself a meatball sub with some frozen meatballs I keep around for fetch games with Ellie and Hank. Her brother made himself a couple of hot dogs and some fries in the air fryer. Teaching them to cook is finally having some reward. She’s making some clothes for her paper dolls. I hear a lilting brogue coming from the living room so he’s playing some multi-player video game with his Irish lass from Killarney. It’s the modern version of having a pen pal.

      Syllabus of the decision https://www.supremecourt.gov/opinions/21pdf/21-418_i425.pdf

The final part of the syllabus of the decision says this:

“ (c) Respect for religious expressions is indispensable to life in a free and diverse Republic. Here, a government entity sought to punish an individual for engaging in a personal religious observance, based on a mistaken view that it has a duty to suppress religious observances even as it allows comparable secular speech. The Constitution neither mandates nor tolerates that kind of discrimination. Mr. Kennedy is entitled to summary judgment on his religious exercise and free speech claims.”

    • elliesmom says:

There have been times in the last a couple of years I’ve found myself arguing for religious rights even “people of the cloth” have been willing to surrender. I’m delighted Coach Kennedy gets to remain a positive influence in a school.

Still testing positive, so continuing to stay away from Aunt. Sigh. I feel pretty much ok, just a minor cough at this point.

    • lyn5 says:

      How are your oxygen levels?

    • lateblum says:

My neighbors who had the virus said it took several weeks for the cough to leave. I’m glad you feel “pretty much ok”.

    • Somebody says:

My son and grandkids tested negative about 3 days after their symptoms subsided, but my brother? Oh my, he had covid early back in December 2020. He followed the front line doctors protocol including ivermectin which was first being used back then. He was fully recovered in about 36 hours, but it took almost 2 weeks to test negative. Even way back then the CDC said 10 days after symptoms subside you’re no longer contagious.

I think, but am not positive the CDC has shortened that to 5 days after symptoms subside. Check and see if that’s the case. For whatever reason some people seem to she’d the virus much longer than others. I don’t think they really know why. I remember one woman here that was a nurse got covid spring 2020 and it was 42 days before she tested negative and over 50 before she had two negative tests in a row which was required back then.

      • Somebody says:

Shed not she’d, way to go autocorrect 🙄

      • Miranda says:

The only thing I worry about is Aunt. She’s 76 and has dormant COPD and emphysema, so I *really* don’t want to take any chances there. Her dude is taking her on errands, so she’s ok.

      • Miranda says:

Also, I’m still coughing, so still symptomatic. I’m double-masking if I have to go out and moving as quickly as I can.

The smug guys injection that plantation owners had lands taken away is the perfect example of completely not understanding communism. Successful famers had their lands taken away because they knew how to grow, produce, and deliver food. The communists decided they were successful because they were evil. People that took over on those lands failed to grow, produce, and deliver food because they didn’t have the skills. Millions then starved and died because of lack of food production. This is the most perfect example of the epic failure at every level of communism. And the fact that that smug kid, and lots like him, have no understanding means they would do exactly the same for every profession and means of production, and thus kill millions.

Amtrak train has derailed in Missouri. It was the LA to Chicago train, 243 passengers on board. 2 locomotives and 8 cars derailed. It collided with a dump truck on the tracks, no information if truck was broken down or trying to go around crossing gates to beat train.

Oddly the crash is near Mendon, Missouri. Trump’s rally this past weekend was in Mendon, Illinois.

    Prayers for all involved

The warrant does not even mention/describe any crime for which evidence sought by the warrant might be relevant. The 4th Amendment requires a finding of probable cause that a search will yield evidence related to a specific crime. Yet, we know those like Strozk don’t give a damn.

          R.J. Kassam @RaheemKassam

NEW IN: The DOJ’s Office of Inspector General requested the warrant. OIG’s statutory authority is to investigate wrongdoing by DOJ employees and contractors. Eastman is neither.

ALSO: The government’s warrant failed to provide “particular description” of seized items, as required by the 4th Amendment.

FURTHER: The warrant appeared to authorize seizure of “all info” contained on Eastman’s phone. That is basically a “general warrant” authorizing Biden regime to rummage through and store his comms and records. Wildly authoritarian. Where are the @ACLU’s of the world??? 3:26 PM · Jun 27, 2022
