As of this morning, they’re STILL counting and “finding” votes in Maricopa County. They must think we’re fucking stupid

If someone asked you to recommend some people out there who do unbiased reporting instead of “opinion”, who would you suggest?

    • lateblum says:

      Greta Van Susteren?

    • Anthony says:

      Maria Bartiromo

Lara Logan, Sharyl Attkisson, Glen Greenwald come to mind. Lara and Glen do lean left and Sharyl leans right, but they all take journalism seriously.

When she was at Fox I always thought Catherine Herridge was a solid reporter and I honestly have no idea her politics. She’s with CBS now, I haven’t followed her reporting there so I’m not sure.

Matt Taibbi no doubt leans left, but he’s surprised me through the years with some solid pieces. Miranda Devine leans right, but will follow a story no matter where it leads, similar to Taibbi.

      • taw46 says:

I agree with you, especially about Catherine Herridge. I followed her when she first left FNC and joined CBS and she was the same. I haven’t seen her in a few weeks, so looked her up on Twitter. There are several clips of her interview with Kellyanne Conway and she lets her speak, doesn’t try to interrupt her or attack her about Trump. So I would say she seems to have remained true to herself.

        • Somebody says:

Glad to hear that about Catherine Herridge, I always liked her.

I’ll add John Solomon to the list, he strives to be a straight down the line news reporter. After his splash at Fox and stint at the Hill, he’s gone into relative obscurity. It was clear to me his sources were using him, although he uncovered some really good information. In the process he burned a lot of bridges and ticked people off on both sides. I’ve never been a particular fan of his personally, but I think he strives to be a straight shooter. He has a show on real America’s voice, but I don’t watch it.

Overseas there is a guy named Ben Harnwell that has excellent sources and has broken a lot of stories.

          • taw46 says:

I never thought much about it, but you are right. Solomon was on Fox all the time, I think Hannity, then just disappeared. I do see him some on twitter.

I am not familiar with Ben Harnwell, I will have to look him up. Someone else I loved to hear, but haven’t seen lately, is Mark Steyn. The best, brilliant. Tucker used to have him on his show frequently, and maybe he still does. I just don’t watch as much as i did at one time.

I agree with all the responses, but getting THE NEWS can be tricky these days since we all pretty much know which side of the story any given network will give us. Lately, we’ve been watching ABC,NBC or CBS nightly news then turn to Jesse Watters to get the other side of the story 😀

After my friend got home, she did a little research on the AR-15 and discovered everything I said about it was true. You do have to pull the trigger for each shot, it’s not young people who own most of them, and they don’t blow a deer to “ground meat” status when they’re used for hunting. Today I got an email from her asking for good real news sources, but “forget Fox News because she can’t stomach it”. The thing is Fox shows often have some of the best investigative reporters on as guests. Like Glenn Greenwald, Alex Berenson, and Andy Ngo just to pull out a few. Some of the reporters have personal blogs or Youtube channels I can link to her, and since she never watches Fox, she might never make that connection. 🙂

But you’ve given me a nice well-rounded list with some folks from both sides, and I thank you. For covid info, I’m going to add Naomi Wolfe and Bret Weinstein to Alex Berenson. All three are solidly left, but they’ve done some of the best investigative reporting on the pandemic and the vaccines. At this point my friend is double-vaxxed and double-boosted, but has had covid twice. She’s becoming open to listening to the real research beyond the propaganda. She still believes no one “needs” an AR-15, but she acknowledges it’s not a specific gun she wants to ban. She wants to ban them all. At least that’s being honest. 🙂

      • Locked-N-Loaded says:

In New York state, it is against the law to use an AR-15 to hunt large game (deer, bear) because it is not considered powerful enough. The AR-15 is mainly used for small game (squirrel, woodchuck, groundhog, rats at the dump).

        • elliesmom says:

Most of my neighbors have a rifle of some kind. There’s a lot of target shooting. The serious hunters are skilled with the bow because our neighborhood is infested with wild turkeys. If they want to hunt turkeys for Thanksgiving, then the fall hunting season for them is limited to archery, but they use their AR15s to hunt them in the spring. There’s enough hunting going on on private property I swapped my gray jacket for a bright yellow one and bought Ellie an orange vest.

I’m not a hunter, but growing up on a farm, I’m not upset at the idea of killing animals to eat them. I’m not afraid of guns. I just live in the town in RI with the lowest crime stats. Since I’m not worried about needing a gun for self-protection, and I don’t want to kill my backyard groundhog, I don’t see the need to own one. But if the “teeming hordes of people from Providence” became an issue, I wouldn’t have a problem with buying a gun. My neighbors convinced me to put a lock on my well head and bring the emergency pump handle into the house at the beginning of the pandemic, but that’s as far as I’ve gone. 🙂

Oh no, no, no. Florida is scary, we have mosquitoes, snakes, alligators, gun toting citizens. It’s a jungle, heck we even have monkeys. This place isn’t for everyone. It’s really hot here, snowflakes melt easily.

My son is moving to Deerfield Beach when he retires in Sept. Wifey and the remaining grand twin are already there. Sold his Colorado house, but just renting til he finds a retirement job. Wifey already started job at the FLL airport (human resources). Politics destroyed Colorado for them, now looking forward to the new adventure in DeSantis World.

It’s now in our sights for final retirement. Husband wants casinos, I want ocean. We’ll stay here as long as Aunt is with me, but after she passes away, we’re heading south.
