    R.I.P. Kirstie

My favorite line in that movie:
Kirstie – “He looks just like his father”

Travolta – “I thought you said you were artificially inseminated!”

Kirstie – “I was. I never make that face so I assume his father looks like that all the time”

        RIP, go in peace.

I remember when she got the Emmy she thanked her husband (Parker Stevenson) “for giving me the Big One”. I always enjoyed her saltiness 😀

    • Miranda says:

They tried to cancel her, but she held her ground. A good actress and beautiful woman, especially stunning as Saavik in the Star Trek movie.

I wonder what kind of cancer kills so fast ? My dad and sister had brain cancer in the 80’s which was 3 and 6 months for them, but McCain had the same type and lived almost 3 years. Cancer isn’t the sudden death sentence it once was. Unless she chose to go untreated which would be in the tenants of Scientology ? I hope there was no suffering.

        • taw46 says:

Pancreatic cancer is one, because there aren’t usually symptoms until it has spread to other organs. I had a cousin who died 3 months after diagnosis, it had spread to her stomach and bones. I couldn’t believe how well she looked and then she was gone. 😢

        • Miranda says:

Ovarian is another one that doesn’t have symptoms until late in the process. Basically, it’s what stage the cancer is at when they catch it and how well the person responds to treatment.

Carboplatin got Mom into remission from stage 4 ovarian cancer twice, but then she developed an allergy to it and went into analphalactic shock during chemo (that was a fun day). No other drug did as well.

        • lateblum says:

My ex was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer on Memorial Day in 2005. He enrolled in a U of Chicago trial and went into remission for less than a month. When they discovered the cancer had returned, the program dropped him saying they would refer him to a doctor. They didn’t. He died weeks later on October 1, 2005.
I am still angry about their lack of care of their patients.

          • Miranda says:

            I’m sorry. That’s terrible.

In response to your comment above, Mom passed in 07, not from the shock reaction in chemo, just from damage by the cancer.

Kirstie Alley was very open ahout her history with cocaine abuse and vocal in her opposition to dosing children. She sat with Tucker on his Fox Nation show. I found her politics interesting as it seemed like she was just a normal person who responded genuinely to the insanity of Hollywood reaction to all things Trump. James Woods is a clever fellow and (to me) comes across as someone acting with intent. Praise him, but Alley seemed like someone you could be in line with at the grocery store who just casually said you people are all fucked in the head. Simply casually observed how the entertainment industry jumped the shark. Today or maybe yesterday Henry Winkler saw fit to criticize Herschal Walker for his lack of fluidity in speaking. The same people who applaud Fetterman and Biden judge quite condescendingly how Walker expresses himself. A guy who actually pulled himself out of abject poverty to be able to run for the Senate. I don’t think he lived in mom and dad’s basement until he was 40. The Fonz is attacking how a black man speaks. Were he a dimocrat and a rethug mocked his verbal skills the ladies on The View would implode with righteous indignation. Silence because he is not democrat.

The Dims are such hypocrites and frauds.

      • Mothy67 says:

I have never considered myself a republican. I hold lots of opinions that classically are left. Some are impractical. My feelings about marriage is government get out. None of your business to tell a baker or a florist how to act. Thousands of years the traditional family offered stability. Children need to rely to depend. I think gays can raise but two men or two women are not the same thing as a mom and dad. I would have given everything I own for da brat to have had parents that could. They couldn’t. When I see things like NY assembly doing a standing ovation to legalizing an abortion at 9 months I have nothing left. I can’t process what I see as beyond grim. I was pro choice until 2008. Everything went so hard core hard left so fast. Nothing but polluted anger from radicals. I am a gay man, I have 3 brothers. The hate on straight white males who did not go to Oberlin was too much for me. A good friend tried to justify the associate professor who hit another person in the head with a bike lock. She thinks Trump supporters are sub human. Nazis. We who disagree with a total, a complete reinvention of thousands of years of basic biology are Hitler’s spawn. I say boys have a penis girls a vagina and suddenly I am racist. Not sure how or why my saying let effiminate boys be effiminate and let butch girls be butch. We don’t need to dismember children to accept them. Somehow I am racist. I get lost. Told I see things through a “cis” normative lens?? I am racist for admitting biology. 99.999% of former friends who dictate how I should speak work for government. Being adverse to a 12 year old white girl getting a mastectomy is racist. Any and all disagreement is racist. I need to shut up because I had colonies. Sean Hannity and I washed dishes together in the 80’s. Not really. I was a dishwasher who walked home after plundering nations in my spare time. Hannity always mentions he had a teenage job.

    • DeniseVB says:

Kirstie credits Scientology to kicking cocaine.

      • Mothy67 says:

From experience unless a person finds something to latch on to outside of the self recovery from addiction is nearly impossible. Addiction is self absorption. All you think about is you. Not many know that the founder of AA read William James brother of Henry James before he construed 12 Steps. It is so dense but The Varieties of Religious Experience is from a thinker who arrived before clickbait. Agonizing to process. So dry.
12 steps are profound. Rebuild life. The process is rebirth. Bill W and William James did not exist in a vaccum. Eliade wrote the Sacred and the Profane. He says shut up things matter. You can analyze Eliade but in a nut shell it is about value. You have to find worth. Life means nothing if you find nothing to hold on to. My lib friends have filled the hope pocket with some out dated Camus philosophy. Yeah I am never going to be a greek demi god rolling a rock up a hill. Imagine thinking you are that important? Myth of the Sisyphus applying to me. I am vain but not that far.

    • Somebody says:

I agree Kirstie Alley came across as very relatable. Maybe because she left Hollywood? It’s hard to recognize a bubble when you are inside it.

As for Herschel Walker, he’s not a particularly good public speaker or perhaps not a polished public speaker would be a better description. He doesn’t do very well reading off a teleprompter or reading a prepared speech. He can speak well when he’s speaking from the heart, when he’s speaking about something important to him, something he’s familiar with.

Trump is similar, he does much better off the cuff, but he’s getting better with the teleprompter. I think in both cases it’s because neither men are professional politicians.

That being said, stone cold drunk and sleep deprived Herschel Walker can speak circles around John Fetterman.

      • Mothy67 says:

I make mistakes probably daily. Elliesmom tells me am an idiot sexist pig and I want to die. Oops raising a kid does not come with a pass. You swallow the brutality. I learn. Often that stings. Hurts. Kirstie strikes me as someone who swallowed the bitter pill of saying I am far from perfect. I read the likes of Alyssa Milano or the guy who plays Hulk. I think wow you dumb. I don’t want to think of people as stupid but hollywood makes it hard. I stumble but I try to not be a complete idiot.

Basically, what she just said is that white people should/ will be eradicated, because anything they think say or do, is currently irrelevant, because of ” history”. But she appears to be completely ignorant of any history of humanity. White people were the only violent people in history? The scope of her ignorance is unfathomable.

This documentary coming out the 8th and the 15th will be a nasty one, if you read this article. I wish King Charles would cut off all contact with them after this, but I doubt that would happen. The award show is tonight, right? More slandering of the royal family. For this, they should be cut off and lose the royal titles.

finally some republicans with backbone. McConnell has to go. he is more enemy than a friend.

Actually Rosanne Boyland was trampled and then beaten to death while unconscious by a capitol policewoman. There were also two men hit with percussion grenades that died that day. The two men were listed as heart attacks and Boyland as an overdose, but there is video of all of the above events AND Rosanne Boyland’s toxicology report was clean. It took her family damn near a year to get their hands on it.

      Awards, recognition, spit

This is a targeted strategy to cancel the entire Republican Party. Even the GOPe knows that going against Trump is political suicide and the liberals are working their mean girl stuff overtime to either make them bend the knee to NeverTrump or get lambasted and called raycist again.

Republicans can be NeverTrump and lose, fence-sitters and lose or support a conservative agenda and win.
