He is just following in the footsteps of other notorious Hollywood chickenhawks. George Clooney, Warren Beatty, etc etc. When they get too old, they get married, eventually, if they feel like it.

Only 29 year age difference. Hopefully, as an Israeli, she is better educated than a American of the same age. I can’t imagine how tedious it would be to live with a like, like, like, ummm, you know… 19 year old product of US Public Ed system.

    • Mt.Laurel says:

Do not really follow these things but I have come across quite a few comments recently in rather unexpected places so it must be an obvious pattern. Apparently his “girl friends” have preset expirations dates that correspond directly to their 24th birthday and then he starts looking for a newer model. A 19 year old I assume would be rather common starting point for his companions. I think there has been quite a bit of talk recently as the current gal is aging out and would he realize he himself is edging 50 . . .

Today’s flowers with that tinge of gold turning to green remined me of Robert Frost

    Nature’s first green is gold,
    Her hardest hue to hold.
    Her early leaf’s a flower;
    But only so an hour.
    Then leaf subsides to leaf.
    So Eden sank to grief,
So dawn goes down to day.
    Nothing gold can stay.

I clicked on a link to a story about the sun. On that page was an ad for a show airing tonight on Vice TV at 9pm.

“Sex Before the Internet”, tonight at 9pm on Vice

That tickled my funny bone. So what? We were doing sex the wrong way before the internet? Less sex? More sex? Sounds like a stupid show, but probably more entertaining and informative than the SOTU.

    • Anthony says:

      I’ll save you two hours.
      SOTU in a nutshell:
      1) “The economy is great,
      2) there is no recession,
      3) there is no crisis on the southern border, only xenophobic hysteria from white people
      4) Trump is responsible for everything bad
      5) MAGA Republicans are traitors to our nation and must be purged
      6) we are a racist nation
      7) China is not an adversary
      8) Hunter is a victim

      There it is. You’re welcome.

    • elliesmomThe says:

      Sex before the internet-

We met people in person at places we liked to go.

Friends, family, especially grandmothers, found “real nice girls with great personalities or young men that were a good catch” and arranged meet-ups . “Go out with him. He might not be your cup of tea, but he’ll have friends.”

We knew each for at least a couple of months before sex entered the picture unless you were “easy”.

If someone you didn’t know called you to meet him for sex, there was an exchange of money.

There were things only a “French whore” would do, and if you liked to do them, you didn’t make a video of it and invite everyone you knew and millions of people you didn’t to watch it.

“Baby, It’s Cold Outside” was a seduction, not a rape.

Have you ever heard of a 45 day suspension from high school?

        • elliesmomThe says:

Yes. When a school suspension is more than a week, it usually means there has been police inv0lvement. The long suspension is to give time for a court date and a resolution. If the student doesn’t end up incarcerated, the school will either let the student back into school, find an alternative placement, or move for an expulsion. A fight between kids who are usually friendly with each other would get a few days suspension to give the parties and their allies a cooling off period, but a fight severe enough for the police to be called would get 30-60 days depending how crowded the juvenile court dockets are,

          • elliesmomThe says:

Another reason for a long suspension would be to make completion of rehab a condition to return to school. Normally, addiction issues are considered a health issue, but if the addiction was disrupting school, then the school might go that route rather than involve the legal system.

      • Mothy67 says:

Lots of interesting theories on why in this thread. I eat a ton of eggs. 5 for breakfast, I add hard boiled to salads. No meds and my cholesterol is fine and my A1c is pre diabetic. I take D and eat healthy. They wanted me on insulin and a med. I have very little faith in pharma. I test my glucose with prescribed strips more than I am instructed. I get 100 a month. I check in the morning, after the gym, before dinner, and at night. That’s at least 120 a month. I went to buy extra on my own. $120. I bought the store brand for 14.95. Each time I did one touch I also did generic and compared. Generic averages 14 points higher. I can save 105 by using store brand as supplement and deducting 14.
How much money is pharma making off diabetes? I made easy dietary changes. I knew D helped!

I just bought two 18 carton of Egg’s Land Best for 6.69 each. 37 cents for an egg seems reasonable. Versatile. Celery up 100% bothered me more. I assume store eggs have increased significantly. Store was nearly sold out (yuuuge store) of the other brands. What was there was between fifty and a dollar less for 18. I rarely bought cheap eggs because my culinary skills are lacking. I break a cheaper egg and spend time digging out a piece of shell. I try with a spoon and give up and use my finger. I cannot crack bargain eggs. I have tried. ELB easy.
Honest question have eggs gone up that much where you are? I keep reading about eggs. I have not looked at non ELB eggs in years. I don’t know what the price was, but 6 dollars for 18 egg’s doesn’t seem crazy. I am not feeding 5 kids so perhaps again I am clueless.

    • Somebody says:

Eggs are up everywhere, even EB brand you just haven’t been paying attention. My husband is an egg snob. He prefers brown eggs and goes for Happy Eggs, if the store has Happy Egg Heritage he will buy them no matter the price and giggle like a child🙄 If they are out of Happy eggs he’ll get Pete and Gerry’s, he’ll settle for Nellie’s but begins to pout and complain if he has to venture to “lesser” brands. Overall he much prefers fresh eggs if/when we can find them or our neighbor graces us with some.

I assure you the price of those brand eggs has doubled here. It was one thing to indulge him when they cost $3 to $4 a dozen. Now those brands are running $7 to $8 a dozen. It’s ridiculous, but we still buy them the only ones suffering are my dogs. Hubby used to scramble them an egg every morning to share, now they have to rely on my charity to share a bite because Hubby rarely shares any of his.

Speaking of my dogs, they too are egg snobs. When eggs were hard to come by at the beginning of covid I bought some eggs at Aldi’s. Those were the palest, most tasteless eggs I’ve ever seen. Hubby scoffed and said I’m not eating those, give them to the dogs. Each dog tried them, but after a bite or two they walked away from them and refused to eat them too🤣 It was literally at that moment my neighbor rang the bell and gave us like 3 or 4 dozen eggs. A happy breakfast was had by all🤣

      • 1539days says:

What’s interesting to me is all the products with egg, especially prepared food, haven’t really gone up as much in price. A breakfast burrito is the same as last year.

    • elliesmom says:

If the problem you have cracking eggs is related to the thickness of the shell, you might want to switch to brown eggs if you’ve been using white. The brown shelled eggs tend to be sturdier. The color of the shells depends on the breed of chicken that laid them. When I get fresh eggs from my niece, it’s like getting a rainbow. She has different breeds that lay white, brown, or green eggs. Two breeds that lay brown eggs with sturdy shells are Rhode Island Reds and Plymouth Rocks. As you might guess, they are popular breeds here.

If you’re eating that many eggs. you might also consider buying jumbo sized eggs instead of large. Three jumbos will give you as much egg as 5 large ones, and jumbos often have double yolks. I don’t notice any difference in the quality of Eggland when I’ve bought them because it was all that was left at the store, and I don’t like their packaging. Their clear plastic cartons don’t protect the eggs very well, and the styrofoam ones are a pain to recycle here. Eggs have doubled in price over the last year, and nutritionally they are still a bargain, that’s some real sticker shock.

      • lateblum says:

The EB here come in those styrofoam-like cartons. But they are labeled as “recyclable”. I’m not certain if there is a secret to recycling them, but so far, they haven’t been rejected by the people who pick up our waste. That probably doesn’t mean anything though, because I haven’t noticed them ever rejecting what people are trying to recycle.

        • elliesmom says:

You can’t put any styrofoam of any kind in recycling in RI. They have a special collection place for it in the middle of the state. One of my neighbors with a truck goes there once a month. He’ll take everyone’s there if you bring it to him a day or two before he goes. When I switched to the company in MA, I can just throw it in the trash, but as I said, I’d rather buy eggs I know are local.

It’s probably a dart of some kind, both of their native tribes were adept at using blowguns. Joe or Chuckie probably put them on Chinese spy balloon duty. If one floats overhead, they’ll just pull the dart from their lapel, load it into their blow guns probably sitting next to them, aim and fire. Both women are sufficiently full of hot air to anhilate any menacing 🎈. This method will save the Pentagon a lot of meetings and millions of dollars, bonus Joe won’t have to weigh in either.

I trust you have read Metamorphosis by Kafka. The brat getting busted for pot was kinda a relief. I was waiting for it. She was too perfect. There was so much pain that little girl kept inside. I was scared watching her at her fathers coffin. She was strong. This pot episode had her crying in my moms arms. They fight but damn there is love. Crud stood cold next to her dad’s coffin. Almost no emotion. She is surplus. She came undone. She actually cried, wept in my mother’s arms like a baby. In my mother’s arms
I am not very upset about pot. I think I would pay for the event. I think 45 days is extreme but honestly two weeks of a tutor can be a year of text book. The VP I think is a woke ass wipe, and I thought about destroying him. Nah pudgy troll can troll but I will make sure he is held accountable. He was suspending only white kids.
