For Sarah Huckabee Sanders fans ….

    • taw46 says:

She called out Biden for being “unfit to serve as commander-in-chief”, called out the left for all of their crazy. If she continues to speak truth in her calm manner and performs well as governor, then I could certainly see her running as VP/President one day.

      • helenk3 says:

how about a DeSantis – Huckabee ticket in 2028, that way they will have fulfilled their terms as governor and have two years
will have more trust from their voters that they will finish the job they signed up for.

        • taw46 says:

2028 is a long way off. I would need to see how Sarah performs as governor these next few years. And I would need to see positions held by both of them on so many issues. Who knows, I might not want either one of them to run by then? Or maybe I would want Sarah to be the one to run for President? I like DeSantis as my governor, but as of now, he doesn’t do it for me as a Presidential candidate. So much can change, we’ll see. Trump has spoiled me, I just can’t get interested in anyone else for President. LOL

I tried to read this article posted by American Thinker with an open mind. A photo of two young men with the caption, “This is what an engineer looks like” was published by Shippensburg University. A female student complained. While I have never claimed victimhood in the workplace, if my university had published that, all of the women I went there with would have requested audience with the president of the university.

The photo was fine. The reality is most engineering students are male. The caption was honest. But in a university publication it does send the message they aren’t at all enthusiastic about having women in their STEM fields. I would have crossed them off of my list of places to apply, and I went to a school where I experienced hostility. The difference was the people “at the top” were trying to change that, and they have. It’s 50 years later, and Shippensburg is stuck in the past. I’m glad one of their female students spoke up. The guy who wrote the article needs her to call him out, too. There was no sign she had “melted down”. Just spoke up.

      Sorry. Can’t help it.

BTW, have we heard from the Black Grievance mongers yet on this?

      Or the Body Positivists?

It looks age-ist to me. What do these whippersnappers think they know about engineering???

Oh my. Our catholic high school had students from over the entire diocese and our choral group sang for special Latin masses (a parish had to get permission from the bishop). The first couple were so well received all the parishes asked to be put on the list. Guess we were radicals. Who’d have thunk it.

So Shay was in the bathroom others were smoking. They took Shay to nurse. She was not high. They searched her bag and locker. Nothing. Then one of the girls removed whatever you call the marajuana liquid from her bra and put it in Shayla’s bag. For some reason they searched her bag a second time. They all got 45 days.
I talked to an attorney as non white girls have been given a pass. I know this for a fact.
I am against pot but her mom lets her smoke. Probably smokes with her. As it stands there is 10 days for the school to put together their learning materials for the 45 days of suspension. If I transfer her to private school the suspension goes with her but if she completes and makes no noise it will not be on record.
The newish vice principle installed the policy. I would be okay with it if it were even handed. He hates me and he hates Shayla. He hates us for not being woke. Our town is more white collar working class than affluent. There is some money but it is not Phd or MBA. It’s nurses and small business owners. The powers that be ache to be a woke haven. The Gates scholarship went to a student. I will praise that boy. From Nepal. A refugee. However in a school of around 110 a class he was given most of the resources. Some parents were upset that so much was applied to him at the expense of other students. Any complaint is met with cries of racism. His family was given a home through Catholic Charities. They pay no taxes. Everyone else’s taxes paid for his high end tutors. I love that they saw a diamond in the rough. He would have been another wicked smart Asian boy in a larger school not a kid going to MIT with a scholarship that covers living expenses. I say bravo, but get why some parents are resentful.
It was humorous— Tay who has a bromance with Shay’s boyfriend. I used to walk him home. I told the story years ago about how he and pup went to Carnegie Mellon to speak on coding. He is a math prodigy. He is for a math wunderkind extremely verbal. Like never shuts up. I see it as defense. He is from Vietnam. For real he lives above his mother’s nail salon. He is funny. Says they tried to groom him to be the kid who won. Tay is gonna Tay. Teachers gave, in middle school the option of IDK, I don’t know. It was some equity thing where you got graded on what you knew. Tay placed IDK on everything even his name. He wants to play football.
I am mad at Shay for bad decisions. Taylon left school mid day to come to my house to inform me he plans on getting suspended for 45 days. He is now 17. He claims everyone is going to get suspended. They look forward to it. I talked him down. I hope Todd and a few others from swim team do not go to lunch naked. That was a plan yesterday.
Shay was wrong. I had kids coming by all day yesterday to defend her. I was impressed. They think 45 plus 10 is insane for pot. At least one girl was caught with a knife and got 10 days. I beg them to behave. Mom’s as well. It has only been one day away, but you do not kick the hornets nest that is mothers.
I am floored by how many PTA members are up in arms. We live a few houses away from twins in Shay’s grade the older brother died a few months ago OD’d from they think fentanyl laced pot.
He had done rehab many times. Mother and father are upset about 45 days. We have never been friends but they are crazed about how school is react to any drugs.
He was 20. The mother was the first to call me. I found a bottle of spirits under Shayla’s bed. I have been to medical detox. I did not confront her at first. I measured the bottle. I watched the bottle. She consumed nothing.
I did after ten days confront her.
Wish I had a brat who was a nerd, not realistic. I disagree with underage drinking and drugs but she has been dating the area’s most successful quarterback for two plus years. I’d be stupid to think there isn’t going to booze. I want her to be responsible.
I don’t really care about the warped proggie vice principle suspending her for 45 days to make a point. I see him as a woke joke.
She and her acquaintances got 45 days because they caught white attractive girls. The VP is beyond woke.
He has been careful when we exchange. Racism. He hates me because he is always trying to use race as a power tool. I go to every game/event for my black nephew. I am an openly gay man who says do not groom children.
Shay and I talked about 45 day.

why all the attacks on DeSantis from Trump? I do not like it. If Trump runs this time, I will have to think again, just as I did last time. I know he has been tortured more than any president in history, but why not go after his enemies rather than republicans that are doing a damn good job?

      • dm says:

DeSantis is his biggest threat. He knows it, the RINOs know it, and DeSantis knows it. He will announce eventually. He will be perceived as Trump-like but much more palatable. He seems to do a great job as governor and I really have nothing negative to say about him. But he’s bought and paid for, just like 99% of the politicians.

      • lyn5 says:

The Republicans are his and our enemies.

      • lyn5 says:

DeSantis can stop it all if he says he won’t run. Sarah also needs to put her four years as governor in.

      • taw46 says:

The RINO republicans are using DeSantis to hopefully split the Trump supporters. They don’t care about DeSantis, they just don’t want Trump to win. And the left/NeverTrumpers will attack DeSantis just like they have Trump. Unless of course, he turns out to be one of them. As I said in my remarks above, I like DeSantis as my governor, but he just doesn’t do it for me as a Presidential candidate. Not at this time, anyway.

        • lyn5 says:

Like Democrats, DeSantis supporters call Trump supporters MAGAts.

          • taw46 says:

Just another reason not to support DeSantis for President. Something else he could stop, or at least speak out against. If he is ok with me being called a MAGAt, then why would I want to vote for him for President?

Trump supporters call DeSantis supporters DeSimps, you yourself have used that term here. Nobody is pissing their pants demanding Trump stop his supporters from calling DeSantis supporters DeSimps.

I’ve only heard MAGAts from liberals, but I’ll take your word the Ready for Ron crowd refers to Trump supporters in that manner.

I’m really sick of all this BS. Sundance is pushing it because he wants to relive his splitter strategy glory days. He was gifted that strategy play book when someone left it in a hotel room. That was a strategy for Jeb, doesn’t mean they are using the same play book now, maybe they are, maybe they’re not. He thinks everything is a conspiracy. I really, really want to ask him to show me on the doll where Ron DeSantis hurt him. I also wondered during the Governor’s race if he was the much vaunted Charley Crist down low lover.

If the MAGA ideals are to carry on then other leaders have to emerge and be ready to take the reins, not only in DC but in states across the country. The movement will NOT survive if everyone is picked apart and shat upon. Right now Kari Lake is oh so popular, yet if tomorrow she criticized the service at Mar A Lago or spoke at the wrong venue or said Trump farted she’d be a worthless whore the next day. ENOUGH ALREADY!!

The primary will carry on, the candidates will come and go. They will all have a chance to connect with voters or not. They will all get a chance to present their vision. The chips will fall where they may, but all this infighting is NOT productive.

My husband and I are long time Trump supporters, both of us maxed out donations. My husband personally got literally hundreds of people on the Trump train, he was like a Trump Evangelist. He had never been political before that was my gig. Earlier today he used the term toxic to describe Trump’s latest attack and I agree with him. This is not good for Trump, DeSantis or anyone on the right.

      • Somebody says:

Trump’s latest attack is beyond the pale.

I have no idea if DeSantis is running or not, but if I were him I’d never speak to Trump again, ever. Insinuating DeSantis plied underage girls with alcohol, that he’s a groomer? Nope, that’s below the belt.

As for DeSantis being bought and paid for, every politician takes donations mostly from rich people. Trump self financed and used small donor donations for his primary, but turned to big donors for the general, his inauguration and for his 2020 run. He took money from the same damn people, but somehow that’s OK, he isn’t bought and paid for.

Like TAW I like DeSantis as my Governor and prefer Trump to have his second term in 2024, but his latest attacks have given me pause. DeSantis is an unknown in many areas, as are any of the others. He also in my opinion made a commitment to the residents of Florida by running for a second term.

I believe in Reagan’s 11th commandment. There are plenty of ways to point out policy differences. Trump enters the race with the gravitas of having actually sat in the oval office, having actually made the US energy independent, having actually secured the border, created the best economy in decades with job growth, rising wages and low inflation, as the only modern President NOT to start a war, successful on too many foreign policy fronts to list. He leads in all the polls.

Yet here he is assigning middle school nicknames and insinuating his own state Governor may have a problem with underage girls based on some nobody account he just happened to find, what are the odds🙄 I know what I’ll hear is oh no Trump didn’t say that, he was just repeating what Dong-Chan Lee posted on Truth Social. If you believe he just stumbled upon it and was like oh my gracious, I have a bridge for sale🙄

        • taw46 says:

I missed that attack, was it today? I will have to go look it up. I agree, not good.

          • DeniseVB says:

I didn’t see an attack, I saw the comments. Trump does pretty good documenting his brain on Truth, and it’s nothing worse than what’s been thrown at Trump.

            https://truthsocial.com/@realDonaldTrump

          • Somebody says:

He reposted something from another account Dong Chan Lee accusing DeSantis of being a groomer, pedophile and serving alcohol to underage girls to lure them.

Based supposedly on one or two pictures. The picture shows a very young DeSantis with three young girls in sort of a group hug, they all have their arms around each other standing in a kitchen it looks like. One girl has a brown bottle in her hand, no visible label. Could be beer, could be root beer, don’t know. The picture was supposedly taken during the one year DeSantis taught high school history. No dates, no names, nobody in the picture has come forward to claim DeSantis molested them. Might be from that year, could be from when he was in high school or college himself. Could be his sister or his cousins or a church social.

I don’t know, but it is very reminiscent of the Kavanagh “gang rape” accusations. I personally think it’s a very low blow. What’s next? Pictures of DeSantis at a petting zoo or on a farm and accusations of beastiality?

        • lyn5 says:

Well, I guess I was half asleep when I listened to Sarah, because I didn’t even catch that she did not call Trump by his name. I did catch that she said we needed young leadership. I found that to be a little odd, given that Trump and Biden are close to the same age. I just figured she directed that comment toward Biden, since we were talking about the SOTU speech. I guess I need to go listen to her speech again.

  19. elliesmom says:

The issue here is parents want schools to get tough on drugs in school, but when they do, and it’s their kids who are involved, then they get angry at the school. Shay was in the bathroom where pot was being used. She didn’t leave. She got caught. She’s lucky the school didn’t immediately call the police. Where I taught, there was a policeman on duty all the time, and he’s the one who would have handled something like this. Can you say handcuffs and patrol car? You know she uses pot and keeps liquor under her bed, and yet you wait until she gets suspended from school to talk to her about the suspension.

Kids don’t have to be “nerds” to stay out of trouble. They just need to be level-headed and responsible. Given her track record, Shay isn’t. Maybe the 45 day suspension will be a wake-up call, but it depends on how you handle it. If she were mine, she wouldn’t see the outside of the house until the 45 days are over, and her boyfriend would be waving at her from the street. Somehow, I don’t think you have the intestinal fortitude to rein her in. But at least stop blaming the school. Shay did this to herself.

And she didn’t get suspended because the school doesn’t like you because you’re gay. There’s a mountain of paperwork that goes with a major suspension, and no teacher appreciates having to provide a month and a half’s lessons to be done out of school on top of her regular workload because a kid got suspended. Not liking her family members isn’t worth all of the extra work.

    • elliesmom says:

      In response to Tim’s rant

      • Mothy67 says:

Black boys did not get suspended for same thing???

        • lateblum says:

Honestly, Tim, that has nothing to do with Shay. She could’ve left the bathroom when she knew the girls were smoking. What happened might not be fair. But it has nothing to do with how you handle Shay and the suspension. Life’s lessons are rarely easy.

    • Mothy67 says:

      I treasure you.
I make mistakes. Watching a nearly full bottle of vodka under her bed was perhaps one of them. I was more worried about her having alcoholic tendencies. I wanted to see where she was. I was completely functioning before lockdown. I had never bought booze to have at home. Who can afford 12 drinks in a bar? I was drinking two fifths a day as a warm up. I could not keep a bottle.

That being said I know nothing. I try to absorb. One day in 1992 I was 24. This kid who was 21 discovered he had AIDS. He was considering self demise. I was even if you can believe it a bigger idiot then. I was not equipped with suicide. Pure chance I was reading Elie Weisel’s The Oath. Keep him talking. I am not a nice person but I rode the Staten Island Ferry all night with him. I just kept him talking and he lived.
I will beg to differ on the vp hating me. He does. The 45 suspension is extreme but now rugrat gets a tutor for physics and calculus.
I think wake up calls are good. My mom and Shay cried hard in each others arms. Words like I love you were exchanged. They fight non stop but so much love. I am reminded of Kafka
I may be remiss in expressing gratitude but I am 56 gay man with a teen girl. I say things here I’d never say to brat. I want response. You have given me

  20. Dora says:

Chck this out. Biden used the same speech!

  21. Mothy67 says:

    People are mad.
I live in a suburb where houses are six feet apart. I know when my neighbors dog needs to go out. One game I will never play again is SHAME. Shame eats you alive.
I do think it is a big deal that Shayla’s mom allowed her to smoke pot. Would not have been my choice. I have fed and raised her but legally I cannot make a dentist appointment.
I am walking my bad Bella and people were coming to the sidewalk to talk about how unfair 45 day suspension is. Small town. This just happened yesterday. I have already hired a tutor for physics and calculus. I don’t give a shit if she falls behind on her lesbian gay black tranny AP English. Not even a little bit. I have said nothing because I have an attorney. A black woman who had Biden/Harris sign — she moved here from San Diego. She is by trade a dog trainer. She called it out as racism. Attractive white girls getting 45 days when black kids get a pass. She is BLM adjacent. We talk a lot because of dogs. I did not tell her about Shay. She knew. She cried bullshit.
A few blocks later I chatted with a guy. I have known him for years his son had a bully problem. He had a black kid abusing him at school. Parents tried to resolve with play dates. It got worse. Then one day the bully called white kid a f a ggot. Who knows if chubby kid will one day be same sex attracted. His parents did not care once the bully called him a f a ggot the school took notice. A child can be humiliated if he is chunky and white for years but utter a gay slur and the game changes.
I can eat a tutor for a few months. His son had no right to safety in school?!?,

I do believe Shay deserves appropriate punishment. 45 days?

    • elliesmom says:

Using drugs in school is a VERY big deal. Especially if one or more of the girls provided the pot to the others. That’s distribution. As I said, Shay is lucky she’s not headed to court on a possession charge. Hire a lawyer if you want to throw money away, but a court won’t care what other kids got as punishment as long as the punishment Shay received is within the school’s punishment guidelines. Not everyone who commits the same crime gets the same punishment. It’s also likely the 45 day suspension will be over before she and your mother could ever get to civil court. The 45 day disciplinary absence will have already been recorded.

If the kids had died from using fentanyl laced marijuana on school grounds, parents would be suing the school for negligence. Parents can get as angry as they want, but the bottom line is are they saying the girls were falsely accused? Or are all of these angry parents upset because the girls got caught and are being punished? Shay and her friends are not victims here. I know that’s your mindset, but do better than that with her.

I have a neighbor whose daughter transitioned years before they moved here. I only know this bc the mom shared it with me. I’ve told no one. For all I know, everyone knows, but not from me. The son is just a college kid and has many friends who stop by when he’s home from school. I don’t know if they were friends when the transition took place or if they know, but I only see him with girls/females. Maybe they knew each other in h.s., maybe they are new.

There is nothing shocking about the family or the kid. No drama. Nothing that would draw attention to their history. The mom describes where they used to live as “closed minded”. I think they may have moved here to get away from there. But again I don’t know. I wish I knew her (the mom) better. I wonder what it felt like to have this happen.

I must be exposing how sheltered I’ve been, and my parochial vision of life. I’d love to say that I have no feelings about this type of change taking place in a family. I’m certain that if one of my kids were to have told me they wanted to change their sex, I’d have been in an emotional tailspin. I’d like to think I would’ve been able to “handle” the situation with equanimity. I do know that I’d grieve the loss of the child I gave birth to before being able to accept the new person.

But if something like the freakishness shown above took place, I don’t think I could manage my grief and also the ensuing anger that would arise watching them behave like these people did on Sunday. What must the parents of Dylan and Sam Smith and Kim Petra be feeling?

in his own way, just think of what he could do for this country.
what I need and many other people need right now is this example, I need someone who can get the train from point A to point B safely and on time.” If you can not do that, get out of the way until I find someone who can.”

    • taw46 says:

Just speaking for myself here. For me, he didn’t let his ego get in the way. He couldn’t do everything he wanted to for this country because they wouldn’t let him. He was attacked by the Deep State, the left, the Justice Department, the media, the GOPe, and probably a few I have left out. They attacked him before he became President, while he was in office, and after he left. They haven’t stopped, they still want to take him out. I will never forget David Plouffe’s tweet: “It is not enough to simply beat Trump. He must be destroyed thoroughly. His kind must not rise again.”

Very few people fight for him, he has to do it himself. Is it the way I would fight? No, but I am not him and haven’t had to live through what was done to him and his family. So I really don’t get that upset with him, he certainly knows better than I do what is going on. Especially with DeSantis.
