I saw that story earlier and it broke my heart. The family’s four dogs got out and the daughter was getting them back into the house. This friendly dog went toward the policewoman and she reportedly shot the dog, then shot it 3 more times as it crawled across the road. 😭 Fire her, she should not work in the police department.

All of the criticism about Sound of Freedom appears to be written from talking points. So who is directing the press to bad mouth a true story concerning child trafficking? This weekend it looks to come in third, but it is playing in far fewer theaters than Indy. A few are saying it is only doing bank because of Churches buying blocks of tickets. The left did the same thing with Selma.
All the proggie freaks are doing is giving it free advertising.
Indy was flat-out beaten on Sound of Freedom’s opening day. The blocks of ticket thing wouldn’t make a difference if this Indy movie was anything but terrible.
Ghostbusters 2016 also tried to buy blocks of tickets, but its fate was pretty clear.

I saw last night that Miles Taylor has a book (Blowback) coming out this month about Trump. I had to look him up. He worked at DHS for the first 2 years of Trump’s administration, recruited by John Kelly. He is Anonymous, who wrote that article in The NY Times, then wrote a book under the same name. After leaving the WH, he became a very vocal Trump hater and actively campaigned for Biden. There is so much more about him here:

Yesterday I opened a pack of fresh chicken thighs for a casserole recipe I was going to try, and the stench from the chicken knocked me over. OMG, my first experience with rotten meat (that just made me gag, oy). Had to toss it all out, but the odor is still stuck in the back of my nose and throat (gag). Will I ever eat chicken again?
It’s the downside of grocery delivery, I guess. Especially on a hot day. Also, my shopper chose a pack of thighs with a use or freeze by date of yesterday, they were on sale. I brought the groceries in right after she left them on the porch, but not sure how long they were sitting in her hot car trunk. Or they we going bad in the meat case. Learning experience or should I just contact the store? It’s only $4 but I know now to emphasize I want the freshest meat on my orders. Follow me for more cooking tips 🙂
Definitely contact the store. You will be reimbursed, but also importantly, they will get the message about the rotten chicken. That is horrible, never should have happened.
Try drinking some lemonade, or coffee to get the taste out.

Isn’t it funny how a smell can affect taste buds? We wrapped all the meat and packaging with thick layers of newspaper then double hefty bagged it and put it in the outside trash can. I can still smell it despite wiping everything down with Covid killer spray 🙂

I had a similarly bad experience earlier in May. Even though my olfactory sense was highly tuned before it happened, I can now smell odors even more keenly.
I always liberally sprinkle baking soda all over spoiled meat/fish that has to go into the outside garbage for any length of time before pickup day. After it is well covered then I wrap it all up as you described.
Instacart was very easy, they didn’t question my “spoiled meat” complaint and credited me $5.52. 🙂 Thanks for your help !
Glad it worked out. I am able to use one of the grocery stores directly for delivery and they have everything in chilled trucks with freezers but you can still get weird stuff such as strawberries that look lovely until you actually take the top layer off and they have gone bad from the inside out. They are always willing to reimburse for bad items/missing/incorrect items.
