Every culture and civilization that has ever existed has or had creation stories. Part history and part myth, these stories tell us who we are as a people. If you are reading this you are probably a member of the American tribe, by birth or by adoption. The American tribe was officially created in 1776.

One of the seminal events in the pre-history of the American tribe was the discovery of two previously unknown continents. We credit Christopher Columbus with this discovery which is why he is one of our creation stories.

America is under attack. America’s enemies wish to weaken us so that we can be subjugated or destroyed. Contrary to Leftist propaganda, our main strength is our unity. That is why we are called the “United States of America” and not the “Diverse States of America.”

Our enemies are attacking our unity by attacking everything about our identity as Americans. Chris Columbus is collateral damage to this effort.

        In 1501, Manuel I of Portugal commissioned an expedition to investigate a landmass encountered unexpectedly by Pedro Álvares Cabral on his voyage to India. That land would eventually become present-day Brazil. The king wanted to know the extent of this new discovery and determine where it lay in relation to the line established by the Treaty of Tordesillas. Any land that lay to the east of the line could be claimed by Portugal. Vespucci’s reputation as an explorer and presumed navigator had already reached Portugal, and he was hired by the king to serve as pilot under the command of Gonçalo Coelho.[21]

        Coelho’s armada of three ships left Lisbon in May 1501. Before crossing the Atlantic they resupplied at Cape Verde where they encountered Cabral on his way home from his voyage to India. This was the same expedition that had found Brazil on their outward-bound journey the previous year. Coelho left Cape Verde in June and from this point, Vespucci’s account is the only surviving record of their explorations. On 17 August 1501 they reached Brazil at a latitude of about 6° south. Upon landing they encountered a hostile band of natives who killed and ate one of the crewmen. Sailing south along the coast they found friendlier natives and were able to engage in some minor trading. At 23° S they found a bay which they named Rio de Janeiro because it was 1 January 1502. On 13 February 1502, they left the coast to return home. Vespucci estimated their latitude at 32° S but experts now estimate they were closer to 25° S. Their homeward journey is unclear since Vespucci left a confusing record of astronomical observations and distances travelled.[22]

      My push notices for delta were all from NOAA and one of the local stations. Not a peep out of most of the services/apps unless you went hunting. And I alway check that I want all notices from hurricane tracking. Not much coverage of the wild fires or anything else actually happening outside in that environment thingy they claim to care so much about. . It’s like they closed up shop after Labor Day so they could focus on political topics for the worshipers of Global Warming/Climate Change/wether Diversity.

      This video was more than worthwhile. I watched it all. (Probably, because I can’t get to sleep tonight. But also because she was engaging and saying all the “right things”.)       This young woman was bright, thoughtful, articulate, and made more sense than anything I heard all month. She very much described my own epiphanies as a Chicago public school teacher and then as a medical/psychiatric social worker who spent the last nearly 30 years doing clinical work in mostly hospital settings. In both cases, the unions played roles writ large in the ongoing abuse of the social underclass (as they were called when I was in graduate school) what they are now referred to is unknown to me. But I felt they were being diminished and abused throughout my lifetime. Once the illegal immigrants began pouring into Chicago, especially during the Obama years, social service agencies were established to assist this population. I witnessed the impoverished citizens in Chicago who had been maligned by many for so many years, for actually using the system that had been established to help them, (were) now being deprived of the help they had once received and still needed. I called out this obvious injustice much to the dismay of my own colleagues. (I had actually done the same when I saw what was going on in the public schools years earlier.) Needless to say, when I retired there were open comments about my seeming change of heart in the form of, “She’s a Democrat… we think.”
      I’d love to send this video to my daughter and more than to her, I’d like to send it to my son and dil. Dd#1 said to me about a week ago, “Don’t you EVER tell ‘Jessica’ that you might vote for Trump!” The message was clear that I’d never get to see the grandbabies again if I did.
      I know there are some here who do, like I, feel estranged from friends and family members because of the effectiveness of the brain washing we have undergone since childhood. Her description of the role the media plays in promoting and furthering the blind obedience to the group think was spot on. They use tactics to frighten and even terrorize us all. If not about one thing, then about another. When Jane Fonda said that COVID is a “gift to the Left”, she wasn’t kidding. I think they should be blamed for more deaths than COVID.

    Had to run out to get ink . 24 hour walmart is no longer 24 hrs. They close at 10. Kid has an assignment due tomorrow. Don’t see why it has to be printed. Everything is online and it is just her and another girl. Going to wallyworld at 7 am.
    Anywho I’d say yard signs en route are 50/50. I am so isolated with this covid shite that I have no idea what way the wind is blowing. I walk to the store in my hat. I get people look but only black people say anything. It is always positive. I got a young white guy slow down as i crossed street after him. He had to yell Fuck you and give me the bird. Wierdo. Okay never mind my 6 years of support, I’ll vote for biden now. It’s really hard to guage.
    Anywho I was feeling optimistic and then I saw FL early voting and got depressed. Up and down and I assume at least the next month will be like this.

            Right. Mine does that. The downside is it takes a long time to be ready to print after I turn it on. But I always know when I need ink. I try to buy extra cartridges so I’m not caught short because sometimes I can’t get the ink when I need it.

            I print a lot of stuff that only needs black ink. I have an inexpensive B&W laser printer to do that printing. The toner cartridges are about $50, and they print around 3000 pages. Unlike injet cartridges, the ink never dries up, and there are no jets that get clogged. The printer tells me when I have about 500 pages left in the cartridge. I have a color inkjet, too, but the reality is I seldom use it, and if it’s homework Shay is mostly printing, she wouldn’t need color often, either. The printer prints double-sided if I want it to. It’s a lot faster than inkjet, which isn’t a big issue for homework, but the pages also don’t smudge. When it’s time to buy a new printer, you might want to explore that choice with Shay.

    My Canadian cousin will be turning 71 in a few months. His doctor’s office let him know he needed to come in sooner than later for “an important conversation”. After an argument over whether he had to wear a mask to go into the office, his doctor agreed to a tele-appointment. The reason for the urgency is that after his 71st birthday, the Canadian health care system rations elective care. If he has any issues he knows about where a doctor will have to decide between medical intervention or palliative care, Thom should get them on the schedule for intervention now. On the list are things like hip and knee replacements, gall bladder surgery, and cataract surgery. It’s not to say those things wouldn’t get treated after his birthday, but he will need to get into line. The conversation with my cousin was not really about the medical rationing for older people in Canada. Thom wanted to compare notes about wearing masks with me, The rationing was just an aside about why the doctor wanted to see him. That appears to be just a fact of Canadian life.

    Denise has had a stroke. She’s in the hospital, but well on her way to recovery. She’s getting her strength back and can get out of bed with a walker. She has use of her hands back, but hasn’t asked for her computer yet. There may be a move to a rehab tomorrow or the next day. I gave the General my phone number. He will update me, but he has his hands full keeping her down and taking care of Special Greg. He’ll let her know we’re all thinking about her and sending prayers. Hopefully, she’ll be back online soon. ❤
