That’s so pretty! That’s what I need for a window facing my next door neighbor, a nice sheer lace curtain. I ordered some from ” Temu”, which I shouldn’t have done. They were so inexpensive, $4. They came, looked nothing like the picture, were so cheesy, even had glitter. Looks like something you might make a child’s Halloween costume with.

    • I’ve been enjoying the pretty picture of Ketchikan, too. It was one of our stops on our Alaska cruise. The most rustic.

We are so lucky to have a DC police officer explain the Supreme Court and the Constitution to us. 🙄

seeing the news about all these brats protesting and screwing other students’ college studies, I have come up with two suggestions on how to get rid of them.

1 round them up , put them on C130 cargo planes, and drop them off in Gaza. Parachutes at the pilots discretion.

2 ask some farmers to borrow their fertilizer trucks and spray the brats several times a day.

    • taw46 says:

Yes, it is. Everything the left is doing. And I also agree with what they need to do right now about these “student” protests:

”And all of this, all of it to support Hamas. It should be unbelievable because it’s unthinkable…but it’s not.It is, however, lunacy deserving of no debate. There is a single appropriate response: Administrators need to send in police with water hoses and dogs; run the brats out and arrest those who attempt any aggression. Afterward, all students arrested should be expelled and foreign students packed up and thrown out.”

      • Over a third of the students at Columbia are on visas. It should be easy to get rid of them, but they pay full tuition. I wonder what enrollment will like look for the fall?

        • lateblum says:

I wonder, too. Many, if not most Jewish families have refused early enrollment. Especially since these schools seemingly cannot keep their current students safe and cannot say how they will do so in the future.
I’m hoping the schools where hateful support of Hamas has taken over will see a huge drop in enrollment in the fall semester.

          • I’d want to have a child who was fearless and would prove his or her right to be there, but ultimately, I’m a mom and would opt to send them somewhere safe.

That article certainly is an interesting read. Look at this:

”It should be noted that of the more than 20,000 foreign students at Columbia University, the school reports that a total of 6,483 of them are engaged in Optional Practical Training (OPT). This is a controversial DHS-created program that allows foreign students to work in their field of study for one or three years beyond graduation. In other words, that population is not studying on campus, but is employed at some worksite (which may or may not be a campus lab, for example). Nevertheless, foreign students remain enrolled in the school while they are participating in OPT. Put differently, if looking solely at foreign students studying on Columbia’s campus, the percentage of the total student body that is made up of foreign students is approximately 38 percent (13,838 of 36,649).”

These schools are receiving money from the government, but increasingly giving their slots to foreign students. So US citizens are being denied. Congress needs to stop that.

          • lateblum says:

Good catch, taw. I read the article, but from time to time my eyes glazed over and I missed this part.

          • taw46 says:

I still haven’t read it all. I concentrated on the part about Columbia. And just skimmed the rest. But I will read it.

          • If the foreign students are suspended, or if their classes go online, they lose their visas. That’s why the school is saying “hybrid”. Hybrid says you’re in class sometimes.

this is how a college should treat brats

  6. taw46 says:

Watching that video makes me so mad. Columbia leadership is worthless to allow this to continue and to escalate. I hope there are lots of lawsuits.

Looks like she has spent her life participating in and organizing protests of all kinds. Apparently in other countries as well. A real professional.

    • taw46 says:

She organizes (brainwashes) kids like this, tells them what to think. And what kind of student is this girl and so many like her? Can’t she go research something for herself? It’s really sad to see so many of them repeat what they are told.

Lisa Fithian has been around for a very long time. She was talking about open borders decades ago. She should be in prison.

    • Swan Spirit says:

Want to hear something “funny”? In the 90’s, Lisa Fithian worked for an organization called Justice For Janitors. So now, organizations she works with take them hostage. Such hypocrites. Anti American communist hypocrites.

the dem judge will probable ok it

        • lateblum says:

I’m not certain the judge will approve their demand for expansive demonstrations near the convention. If it is held in the United Center, there are major hospitals, universities, expressways into and out of the city, and housing projects surrounding the Center. The one that is furthest away, is maybe a 10 minute walk. The housing projects are directly across the street. The city’s medical district with 3 major hospitals housing Level 1 trauma centers. The logistics are crazy. And I’m pretty certain they are also the reason the site was selected.

If the judge really is a democrat – and in Illinois, what judge isn’t – s/he isn’t going to want to cross the Party.

  15. My Canadian cousin, the minister, and I have been having a conversation about Israel. He doesn’t believe the Jews are God’s chosen people. Given that God gave his son to people who became Christians, he thinks they have a larger claim. That being said, he believes Jews have a right to worship how they choose, and Israel has a right to exist as sort of a historical anomaly. He would help Israel fend off Hamas, thinks a new holocaust is in the making, but hopes the Jews will help save themselves by “seeing the light”. He’s like Field of Dreams. If you build a protest, he will come. The protests haven’t reached Nova Scotia yet, but he’s torn between being pro-Israel and thinking Jews need a wakeup. I like to get his perspective from a distance.

    • lateblum says:

I wish my uncle, the priest, were still alive so he could teach your cousin, the minister, some history, theology, and maybe even some Hebrew.

      • lyn5 says:

        ❤️

      • My cousin reads both Hebrew and Greek. He’s a graduate of Mc Gill. He understands the history quite well. He thinks the Jews need to accept Jesus to be saved. He thinks I need to, too. It colors his attitude toward Israel. It’s a mild anti-Semitism. Jews can exist, but they’re “less than” Christians. I think his attitude is more prevalent among Christians than you might realize. And it’s not from lack of education. The story of the Jews is taught in most Sunday schools.

    • lyn5 says:

Hamas woke them up on Oct. 7.

    • John Denney says:

The Apostles Paul talked about this in Romans 11.

      Verses 25-28 encapsulate it:

      For I do not want you, brethren, to be uninformed of this mystery—so that you will not be wise in your own estimation—that a partial hardening has happened to Israel until the fullness of the Gentiles has come in;

and so all Israel will be saved; just as it is written,
“THE DELIVERER WILL COME FROM ZION,
HE WILL REMOVE UNGODLINESS FROM JACOB.

“THIS IS MY COVENANT WITH THEM,
WHEN I TAKE AWAY THEIR SINS.”

      From the standpoint of the gospel they are enemies for your sake, but from the standpoint of God’s choice they are beloved for the sake of the fathers;

The uppercase signifies passages from the Old Testament. Isaiah 59:20, & 54:10

Look at the numbers for Miami & Ft. Lauderdale. The highest. And this is the first 8 months of last year. Bet they are even higher now. If we had a justice system left, people would be arrested for treason.

  23. Except for my cousin, who sends me messages, Clarice Feldman from American Thinker, and what some of you might post, no one even mentions what is going on at colleges on my Facebook feed. It’s like it isn’t even happening. Some of them are usually pretty political.

    • Somebody says:

If they lean left, I’m not surprised. The left just wants this all to go away. Funny thing it’s their little entitled brats causing the problem, but their brats are triggered by no.

My sister has insisted Columbia is peaceful. I’ve been given the wrong impression, it’s only outsiders out in the streets saying hateful things. The students in the tents are all peace, love and harmony.

I happened to be up in the wee hours thanks to my dogs when this was going on. I snagged a couple of live streams, student live streams and sent them her way. Now she’s very upset, angry in fact. Not so peaceful eh?

If I had to guess the people on your FB stream either know and want it to go away or they may get their news from sources that are either not reporting it or are downplaying it as silly kids with big hearts, little peace nicks.

      • Some lean right, and some lean left, but they are all silent. In fairness, except at Clarice’s, I am, too. Well, and with my cousin, but when he wants my take on US things, he takes it private. I think they just don’t care.

Send them to Northwestern University. The president of the university has made deals with the protesters in order to get rid of the protest. By June 1!! The Jewish community and those who support them here, are furious. They are now demanding that the current president of NU be removed and replaced.

There are several different moving parts to this “deal”, some are – housing for Palestinians, 2 full professors from Palestine, 5 full ride scholarships for Palestinian students, courses with a Palestinian pov (that are different from the courses already being taught).

NYPD was allowed to do their job and they were the best tonight. In under 2 hours they cleared Hamilton Hall, cleared the protestors out of the tent encampment, and arrested dozens of them. Police are still on campus and will probably remain there throughout the night so more of the protestors won’t return.

    • taw46 says:

I’m listening to someone on FNC (I didn’t catch his name) and he said yes, this was directed toward the Jewish students. But that it is no longer just a Jewish issue, it is an American issue, an anti-American uprising. And not just in NYC but across the USA. And they need to go after those that organized it. (Yes, I know, it will never happen under the Biden administration.)

      • taw46 says:

His name is Aaron Cohen, he is Israeli Special Operation Veteran. He said this is like a page out of the Hamas playbook. He pointed out the obvious, these large crowds are perfect for terrorists to hide in, very dangerous. This is a larger issue, targeting the American system and they are trying to start mass anarchy.

Also, FNC pointed out the protestors left Columbia and went 20 blocks up to City College.

My relatives remember the riots after King was assassinated. I had uncles in the National Guard that was called up. One man tried to throw shit (literal) in the water treatment plant.

    • taw46 says:

Yes, the 60s were bad. I didn’t live in a large town to see it up close, but it was on the nightly news. Some say the 60s were worse than now, except without the extreme hatred that we see today.

I was in grade school in Montana, and my mother was scared.

        • taw46 says:

I can understand her feeling that way. There were some crazy people/groups during that time. I was in high school & college during those years. We were proper Southern ladies, we would never have protested while in college. 😁 But boy, did we have some great music in the 60s. 😉
