This Is What Peak Stupid Looks Like

WTpigeon chess

What do you get when you cross tin foil with stupidity?

Buffoon Juice!

The Trump Chicago rally was a staged PR stunt. According to the Chicago PD, Trump was never there, and he didn’t bother to consult them before cancelling the rally. And they never advised him to cancel the event. Trump set this thing up with the expectation that he would get this kind of response, and that he could spend the weekend playing the victim and posing as a defender of free speech. Fox news tonight is nothing more than a Trump informercial (even more than usual).

That Trump guy is diabolical!

I should point out that implicit in this staged PR stunt theory is an admission that the optics of last night’s fascist riot are bad for Democrats. Expect to see claims that all the violence was committed by agents provocateurs working for Trump.

You can expect more attempts to shut down Trump rallies too. And expect Trump to keep being blamed for any and all violence. That is the official narrative for this election.

But for anybody watching, the truth is obvious.

As of last night neither Hot Air nor Ace of Spades HQ had mentioned the fascist riot on their front pages.

    • Myiq2xu says:

After pushing #GrabbyGate for two days straight the GOPe sites ignore a clear-cut example of genuine fascist violence.

    • votermom says:

Timing wise, ace often doesn’t blog at all during weekends, so he can avoid this topic completely if he wants and not look like he is deliberately avoiding it.
Hot air is a different story.

Well Ted blaming Trump for a LaRaza/BLM/Bernie/Soros riot and a video of Ted’s father speaking in tongues is a lot to handle in one day.

      • Somebody says:

I missed all of this with Ted and certainly missed the video of his father. I guess I have to catch up today. Try as I might to stay awake, by Friday evening I’m exhausted and usually fall asleep quite early.

Last night I turned on the TV because I was seeing online that shit was going down. Bad move on my part…..riots or not, I was cutting zzzzz in about 20 minutes…..blush. Sitting in a recliner didn’t help.

        • Lulu says:

Ted’s father has been an evangelical con man for a long time. It happens. I don’t believe in tarring the children with the parents unless the kids drag them along for the ride in a new con. Ted needs to make his father and Beck go home and shut up.

          • AniEm says:

They seem to be channeling Elmer Gantry. Cruz may lose his support in Texas over this kind of double-dealing and hypocrisy.

        • leslie says:

I’m with you, Somebody. I fell asleep in the chair as well. Sadly, I woke up to go to bed, and could not get to sleep. What a disappointment.
And now, on Fridays, my son is picking up gbaby #1 and taking her to the park instead of coming home, so I’m there with “Calamity” until the mama comes home 10.5 hours after my shift starts in the a.m. At least yesterday, after a somewhat rocky middle, she took a longer nap. Sadly, my back issues flared up in dramatically new and different ways so I couldn’t sit or move without raging pain. I think that’s why I couldn’t sleep.
*My MDs are not in Thurs p.m. thru Monday a.m. 😦

          • Somebody says:

Leslie, I’m so sorry your back flared up (((hugs))).

It was my feet and knees that were killing me. I truly regret putting hard wood floors in, but who knew I was going to be on my feet so much back when we put them in?

BTW……misery loves company, my day was 11.5 hours yesterday, my son had to work late fixing some technical issues. That’s his job, I can’t fault him for that. Bonus though, he plans to use him comp time to take off a little early next Friday……we’ll see if that actually happens, not holding my breath.

Long nap huh? Well that was a gift. I had the same gift, but only from one so it didn’t result in any kind of break for me. The middle one took a four and a half hour nap. I kept checking on her and checking on her, it was really starting to worry me, LOL! I finally woke her up, big mistake for 30 minutes she was a bear, but finally came around.

          • Somebody says:

Plans to use HIS comp time not him comp time…….sheesh. I think I’m starting to develop a two year old’s vocabulary……..Calgon take me far, far away!!

          • leslie says:

11.5 hours! Oh, goodness. I’ll keep my fingers crossed for you next Friday.
I know what it’s like to wake them up before they actually are ready. that happened yesterday, so I just let her go back to sleep. when her mom came home, I let her wake the little one up.
no one is happy when they have to get up before they’re ready. 😉

I’m probably not going to their Denver gathering after the GOP convention this summer. When I signed up they said the GOP nominee will be invited. If it’s Trump, they’ll probably fuck him again. And after last night, I doubt if I could support a nominee like Cruz and Rubio. We’ll see, still have many months of this sh*t left to decide.

Even Camille Paglia admitted she was wrong about Trump, she gets him now.

    • votermom says:

What happened to being all about defending the Constitution?
      So disappointing, Senator Cruz.

      • Lulu says:

That is just his shtick. Remember that Obama is a “constitutional scholar” too. Globalism pays the Cruz bills.

        • DeniseVB says:

Just saw a yuge line that began hours ago for a Trump rally in Ohio. It hasn’t scared anyone away.

Media isn’t explaining civil disobedience and free speech zones very well. Protesters get arrested for “crossing the line”. Entering the venue itself is prohibited. Agitating and Provoking are not free speech rights like those idiots are thinking it is.

        • Somebody says:

I just got a phone call from yet another super pac……American priorities or Americans for prosperity or something like that……I honestly don’t fully remember the name other than is had American and another word that started with a “P”.

They wanted to do a poll, if the election were held today which candidate would I vote for. I informed the guy I had already voted and he hung up on me???? WTF? Mind you I didn’t say which candidate I had voted for. You would think having a verified vote in their polling numbers would be gold, but apparently not. The fact that I already voted can easily be verified. They asked specifically for me, so they know who I am and which county I reside in.

Former Chicago Police sgt. on FOX this morning. Said Chicago police were ready to protect the streets and Trump’s right to speak. Said it was the ones inside who advised him to cancel (state police, univ security, SS). That they were the ones who lost control, not Chicago police.

  8. elliesmom says:

One of the things Bernie’s kids didn’t want to hear last night was another big winner (other than Trump) was Hillary Clinton. She gets to be the voice of reason in the Democratic Party. She’s already issued a statement about “talking” being the way to bring us all back together. While most of Bernie’s supporters might scoff at it, there is institutional memory about the 1968 Democratic convention. If I can remember it well, so can the party leaders. They’re all older than I am. They have to be wetting their pants this morning over what might happen when Bernie doesn’t get the nomination. I don’t think their response will be to give the nomination to Bernie to avoid it. More likely, they’ll maneuver to get the nomination locked down for her quickly before this “movement” gets any more steam. That will be good for Trump, too.

    • Lulu says:

Bernie’s “kids” are all about talking. The listening part is what they don’t like.

    • DeniseVB says:

I thought the same thing, the anarchists are using Bernie to stick it to the govt and Hillary. He also won MoveOn’s endorsement this year. Soros’ stinky hands are all over this.

One little goodie I learned last night, Putin has banned Soros from Russia, even has a warrant out for his arrest.

    • leslie says:

I really do not think she will get the Dem nomination. If she does, she won’t win.
      read John Kass:

      • elliesmom says:

Unless someone else steps into the race, she’ll win the nomination. There’s no way the DNC gives the nomination to Bernie after last night. The campaign ads with the “Democratic Socialists” mobbing a political rally waving banners, and stomping on the American flag write themselves.

  9. taw46 says:

I saw people wearing Palestinian keffiyeh. I saw communist flags and Mexican flags being waved around. The only American flags I saw were on the ground, being walked on by protesters. Looks like anarchy to me.

    • Lulu says:

I saw extreme filth mouths screaming with heavy accents. When asked why by the Fox reporter one said “I no want say” and a young guy just leered like a creep. Those two do not want a functioning INS.

      • taw46 says:

No they do not. And there were more than just those two. Also looks like an invasion.

        • Lulu says:

Next we’ll hear about some cartel kidnappings and/or pickpocket/robbery/groping/rapes by the “immigrants who are our future!” There are stories already about women being chased and assaulted in the parking garage as “fair game”.

        • leslie says:

Seriously, It looks like U of IL @Chicago. That is what the campus looks like all the time. BUT, I believe many of those demonstrators were brought in just like the people who were bussed into Iowa towns and cities in the 2008 caucuses.

      • DeniseVB says:

A lot of filth was left on the streets too. Reeks of messy third world country morons.

  10. jennifer lyn says:

It is worse than I feared. I thought we had one more presidential cycle before this happened. We are at a breaking point and it is truly scary. America has to decide NOW whether to be a capitalistic democracy run by the people or a socialist shit hole. It will be decided this year. And when Trump is elected we need to deport Cruz with the entirety of the BLM crew and those who prop them up under anti-traitor laws. Death or Deport their choice. Shame on him. Or shame on me for thinking he was one of us just with bad management.

    • blowme0bama says:

I’m going to largely agree, but it’s the organizations pushing these pawns such as moveon and answr which should be prosecuted on RICO charges for promoting political violence. Most of the people actually on the street are just stupid kids being led around by the nose. These commie groups have been allowed to fester and in fact encouraged for the past 7 years under Obama. It’s time to get a grip on these assholes and put the organizers away.

      • leslie says:

You’re right about moveon and answr. In addition to promoting political violence, they also teach civil disobedience – right on the UIC campus only a couple of blocks from the Pavilion where the action was last night. (At least they did when I was protesting the war.) Your’e probably right about the “stupid kids” on the street. But #BLM groups in Chicago are organized, active, and relentless. They are directed by the race-baiting folks and know the reasons for protesting than most of those on the streets. But they are also willing to join others when they think the BLM goals will be furthered.

        • blowme0bama says:

I’ve run across information that muslim terrorist groups are involved in funding this shit too.

          • leslie says:

Wouldn’t surprise me. When I was a member of a local peace group, the most violent of the members (I mean really violent language and political and social positions) were Muslim. I thought it was because they were all displaced from their countries of origin rather than their religion.

    Jazz Shaw:

The bottom line on this would be clear, particularly to people on the Right, if we were talking about an event involving anyone other than Trump. A political rally was scheduled and a large number of supporters showed up with tickets and mostly filled a hall. They were infiltrated by a significant number of opposition activists who were not there to participate in any sort of discussion or exchange of ideas, but to shut the event down. Things spiraled out of control and the event was cancelled. This led to a loud brouhaha out in the streets… the same streets which are regularly filled with demonstrators from BLM and other movements, shutting down traffic, damaging property and interrupting the normal flow of commerce. The actual violence on display was minor at best inside the hall with some pushing and shoving, and the only real injuries took place outside between the police and the mob clogging the streets.

As to the coverage, I’m sorry to say that it’s no surprise at all. I expect to see this sort of exercise in gamesmanship from the cable networks. We should blame everything on “the rhetoric” coming from Trump and his surrogates. But it’s not just the cable news spokesmodels. We once again have conservatives who are leaping out in front with the same message. I’m old enough to remember when one of the core tenets of conservatism was the idea of personal responsibility for one’s actions, including starting riots. Free thinking adults are free to ignore or condemn rhetoric they disagree with. When they decide to gather up tens of thousands of people to take to the streets and bust the joint up, that’s not something which was traditionally blamed on a speech given days or weeks before. But the truly dismaying part of last nights social media onslaught was the sight of #tcot conservative thought leaders gleefully joining ranks with the supporters of MoveOn, Black Lives Matter and Bernie Sanders’ operatives for the sake of blaming Donald Trump for a protest march and the cancellation of a what was undeniably an exercise in free speech.

At this point the entire media circus – including conservative media – over this campaign has me so sick of covering it that I’m considering shifting my column space here to gardening tips and video game reviews. I still believe that Donald Trump is far from the best choice for our nominee and that Ted Cruz offers us the best chance for victory with a solid conservative. But the more I see these over the top reactions to everything related to Donald Trump I’m almost tempted to cast a primary vote for the real estate mogul just out of spite.

It really is hard to read through all of the bullshit and hateful posts this morning. What a sad state of affairs. I am becoming more and more convinced, however, that this country may really need someone with some backbone like Trump. It’s a whole new game. One of the most interesting posts I read today was this one:

“We see what is going on in Germany and European countries and ignoring it with justifying by saying it wont happen here. Obama and his minions are making it happen here. He has terrorist in our country waiting to enter when there is a vacuum created by George Soros’s moveon.org. A 501 tax exempt status org. for the political purpose of socialism. Obama does nothing to this unlawful group. He has allowed brain washing in colleges like Hitler did in Germany. He has kept our borders open to allow terrorist in. His dividing the country with his hate of whites has created this blacklives matter idiots. This is Obama’s plan going as he wants it to in order to destroy America. This is not an isolated incident. This is the beginning of the physical destruction to cause chaos and form the vacuum needed for Obama’s brotherhood to move in. Unless we all open our eyes to the truth and stand up for America, America is gone.”

The really terrifying thing is that it is going to get worse. I do, though, have a feeling that Trump is going to figure out a very unique way to deal with all of this this. I may be totally wrong on that because on the other side of my brain is this nagging notion that we actually will not have an election at all.

    • DandyTIger says:

The thing to keep in mind is that Trump threatens people that have all the power in the world. People with near infinite power are under threat that they may lose some of that power. People used to running the show, and have for decades, probably aren’t taking this lying down.

  44. So the town where I grew up is devastated. When I was a kid I was related to every third person. Somebody died and the bereft were fed for weeks. Welfare took place, but it was short term. We had n words, spics, micks, pollocks, wops, degos, a think there was even a joo. My god parents are from Puerto Rico. Their home was so different than mine. Scents, decor voice level. So different. Not good or bad just different. I am inclined to believe most racial strife is fabrication. Same thing with gay. When the Matthew Sheppard stuff took place my friend worked on The Laramie Project. She was one of the writers. I saw the play and called bullshit. Elitists are racist against straight white men and women who do not see a drunken fuck as empowering. They demean at every chance. I love when my betters explain to me what my childhood was like. I never knew how badly I was oppressed until a rich white man hating girl told me. I was not even aware that I harbor racial hate towards my black cousins. AJ gets on my nerves. All mini people get on my nerves. I tell Shay everyday she bores me and I stopped listening to her at age 3. We bicker a lot. My goal is to make her think for herself.
Anywho the Catholic Diocese is selling the church I grew up attending for 75,000. A bunch of fireman wanted to buy it and rent it out for events. They offered 250,000. Place is huge and beautiful. They rejected the 250 and accepted 75. The woman who is trying to buy it her husband works for the correctional department. They want to convert into a halfway house. Biggest halfway house on the planet. Place is huge. This is not 1972. A shady deal could have been hid in former times. I went to school with the mayor. He had a town hall. Facebook and emails nonstop. My cousin lives five houses down from the church. She has lived there for 30 years. She is an lpn and her husband is a butcher. They put three kids through college. Very grounded people. I was getting drunk on Mykonos while she was making grocery lists. They did all the right stuff. Their home will be worth nothing if they put in a mega half way house five doors away. My heart breaks for them. We po peeps used to grow up with large extended families. My cousins were like siblings. We were always together. I had reckless fun while they obsessed over a one week vacation. Over the years most of my awful homophobic cousins visited the f a g in New York. They were so damned cute. Brand new clothes. They eat Tuna Helper because they care more about their kids than anything. Visits in New York you never eat in. I would watch my relatives try and slide a credit card to a waiter. Like I ever paid. I did a lot of events and promotions. To see their eyes after Les Miz and I say wanna go back stage. They’d act like they had won the lottery. . I could get tickets to any live tv show. Was not a big deal. I most likely slept with someone on every show ever filmed in NewYork. Not really I am pretty repressed. I did benefit from AIDS. Late 80’s people were afraid. My first job interview in Manhatten this guy was interviewing me to be a bartender. Phone rang and then he was on the floor crying. Another of his friends had died. He gave me his keys and left for a week. . I had no idea what I was doing. Led to so much. Peter Neufeld was a friend.
Anyhow my poor family was always worried they would embarrass me in NYC. My cousins have way more integrity than I. The people that want to open the half way conglomerate actually had the gall to cry racism. WTF. It is not open has not even been sold. You are a racist if you are not willing to see your property value plummet. Rich is mayor. He has some Palin spunk. He responds with I can’t even. My cousin has a three bedroom two bath house. It will be worthless if a halfway house is placed near by. 30 years they paid mortgage. Worked hard raised good kids. I so want to call myself that word which freaks women out. I am such a spoiled brat. I search for words in my tiny brain. I love my cousin she is going to see the largest investment of her life disappear. She is called racist. 30 years she paid her mortgage. Now she is a racist for blocking ahalf way home.
