Oversight Committee Subpoenas Attorney General for ‘Operation Fast and Furious’ Communications and Documents
House Oversight and Government Reform Committee Chairman Darrell Issa (R-CA) today announced the issuance of a subpoena to Attorney General Eric Holder, Jr. for Justice Department documents related to the “Operation Fast and Furious” gun walking scandal.“Top Justice Department officials, including Attorney General Holder, know more about Operation Fast and Furious than they have publicly acknowledged,” said Chairman Issa. “The documents this subpoena demands will provide answers to questions that Justice officials have tried to avoid since this investigation began eight months ago. It’s time we know the whole truth.”
Any bets on how long before Holder decides he wants to spend more time with his family?

Interesting. My bet is that they have a whistleblower who says some veeeery sensitive things were discussed/done in that store on the days in question. And Issa wants the tapes to back up his witness.
What say the lawyers here?

It’s the cover up that always gets them. Always.
I think that part is true for any scandal, but I think that the very biggest scandals have two characteristics, not just one:
1) Stubbornly refusing to shut it down and bail when it becomes evident that a plan/program/strategy has gone waaaaay off the rails. If you bail early you take a few lumps, but it’s over quick.
2) After refusing to shut whatever it is down, and instead doubling down on stupid, THEN they start covering up.
